Sale-a-Bration Sunday-Stylish Sketches VIDEO

It's another Sale-a-Bration Sunday!  We're halfway through Sale-a-Bration.  Don't forget all Sale-a-Bration items are free while supplies last.  This week we're focusing on the Stylish Sketches Set.  I'll be honest, this was not first on my list but after playing with it a little I absolutely love it!  Especially these ducks!  I do love ducks, they're probably my favorite bird.  I knew I'd be creating with the ducks but I was surprised how much I loved the other images too.

In the video I'm sharing how to create this duck card, but I'm also sharing versions on the card using the other images in the set.  I changed up the colors on the other versions but the rest of the supplies are the same.  I used the same dies, folders and embellisments.  These would be a cute stack of cards to gift to friends or family.

This set doesn't come with any greetings I used a greeting from the Inspired Thoughts Set.  I love the greetings in this set.  The font is clean and crisp and there's so many greetings for so many occasions. I heat embossed my greeting using White Embossing Powder.  Don't forget to check out the new Embossing Tool Kit in the Mini Catalog.  This kit has everything you need for effortless heat embossing.

All the images are mounted on die cut from the Layering Diorama Dies.  This is such a staple in my dies but all too often I forget to use them, but I love the layers it provides.  Also, on all the cards I used the Split Card Textures Dies, these dies give lots of texture to the background and much like an embossing folder it provides lots of visual and textile interest to a card.

Speaking of embossing folders, I'm using the new Leaf Fall Folder on all my cards.  I missed this one in the Mini Catalog and only added it to my wishlist after seeing it on another project.  I was sold!  It's so beautiful and the perfect addition to all of your fall crafting projects.  To finish all the cards I used some twine from the Essentials Baker's Twine and added a scattering of Festive Pearls.  These are my favorite pearls!

To make the cards here's the basic layout measurements I used.
Card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" score long side at 4 1/4"
Die Cut layer 4" x 5 1/4"
Embossed layer 1 1/2" x 5"

I have a full supply list below.  Other than colors these three cards all use the same basic supplies and tools.  Making these an easy to stack to cards to throw together.  Make sure you check out the video for all the details on my cards.  Subscribe to my YouTube Channel while you're there.  Shop for these products in my Online Store today.

Let's Sail and Inspired Thoughts

Today I have the brightest and most summery card ever!  Just the colors alone should make you smile! This card was inspired by a card I saw weeks ago on the demonstrator Facebook group.  The Let's Set Sail Bundle was a favorite from the Spring Mini Catalog but it carried into the Annual Catalog and it kept it's bundle price!  Which means savings for you! Lots of times when items move from a mini catalog to the Annual they loose their bundle price, so this is rare but it's such a good bundle I understand why! This is a punch bundle which I LOVE!  They're my favorite! In addition to the Let's Set Sail Bundle I added a couple other stamp sets.  The Rays Of Light Background Stamp for the background and the Inspired Thoughts Set for the greeting.  The Rays Of Light Stamp is a huge background stamp.  When I use background stamps I always get out my Stamparatus.  Because the stamp is so big you can restamp multiple times to get the perfect image.

My sails are stamped in Polished Pink and added to my punched Soft Suede boat.  The water is stamped in Tahitian Tide.  I stamped it once on my Stylish Shape square and once again on some scrap paper.  I ran the scrap paper through my die cutting machine with the Basic Borders scalloped edge die, I used the negative part of the cut for my waves.  It's the perfect little scallops!  I added some die cut clouds from the Give It A Whirl dies and finally finished my card with some In Color Opal Rounds.  I have a full supply list below.  You can shop for these products in my Online Store.

Nuts About Squirrels Peanut Butter Pie Box-VIDEO

This week I'm taking a week off from my Facebook Live but that doesn't mean I don't have an adorable treat box to share with you.  I pulled out my adorable Nuts About Squirrels Set.  I'm pairing him with the Rings Of Love Sale-a-Bration DSP.  At the time that I'm typing this, the DSP is still available.  Remember Sale-a-Bration items are only available while supplies last.

I've made this style of box before and it's one of my favorites.  I love the fun angled side.  I think it's unique and different and really makes for a cute box!  You can check out this box here for another box featuring this fun angled side.

I stamped my squirrel on a piece of Basic White that I die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.  I used Soft Suede for the outline and Crumb Cake for his body.  I finished the box with some leaves and branches from the Bough punch and some fun embellishments.  I have a full video below.  Make sure you check it out for all the tips and tricks for this box.

Make sure you check out the video for all the details on this box.

Simple Cracker Box

I love a good box!  When there's a die that creates a box I'm all for that!  It's simple and cute!  You can't ask for more!  The new Cracker and Treat Box Die in the Annual Catalog is amazing!  I love this fun treat box, plus all the tag and label dies that also come with it are pretty amazing too!  This box came as just a test for me.  I want to make the box, see how big it was, and how it went together.  After I made it I loved it!

stampin up, cracker box

The rest of the box came from my parts and pieces bowl on my desk.  This is a bowl I keep on my desk with extra pieces from previous projects.  I already had the flower and leaf put together so adding them to my box was quick and easy.  The flowers and leaf are from the Summer Shadow Dies.  I added ribbon to close the box and it was done!  So what can you put in this box?  I think a few smaller candies would be great (Hershey Kiss sized), chap sticks, cash, jewelry, small toys, I think you could fit a bunch in here!  I have a full supply list below.  You can shop for these products in my Online Store.

Pretty Birds

One of the bundles I was sure I wasn't going to need was the Pretty Birds Bundle.  Well as it alwasys happens I kept seeing it and soon I was hooked and I had to get it!  I'm so glad I did.  I really love this bundle.  The birds are so fun and the dies are so detailed and amazing!  For my card today I also paired it up with the Rays Of Light Background set and I love this combo!  When I'm using a large stamp like the Rays of Lights set I like to use my Stamparatus.  Background sets can be a little tricky to get good coverage, that's why the Stamparatus is so important.  I inked my stamp in Pale Papaya and stamped off on scrap paper first to get lighter shade.  I wanted the detail of the stamp but I didn't want it to be the focus of my card.

stampin up, pretty birds

For the bird cage, because it's so detailed I added some adhesive sheets on the back of the Basic Black cardstock before die cutting it.  Then it was easy to peel and stick!  I stamped the birds with some of our bright new In Colors and die cut them.  I finished the card with a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments Bundle and some In Color Twine and Dots.  I have a full supply list below.  You can shop for these products in my Online Store.

Sale-a-Bration Sunday-Hippo Dies Box Card-VIDEO

It's another Sale-a-Bration Sunday and another super cute project!  Today we're making a box card...or card box....I'm not sure of the official name but this card pops into a box from the envelope and you have an adorable scene that pops ups from the box.  It is so cute!  It will impress anyone you give it and you can make it with products you earn FREE!  Today I'm featuring the Hippo Dies.  These dies are FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 qualifying order.  We're also using the Hippest Hippos Set which you can also earn free with a $50 qualifying order.  Earn the bundle FREE with a $100 order during Sale-a-Bration.

stampin up, hippo dies, hippest hippos

The great part about these dies are all their little pieces and accessories.  Of course they're made to coordinate with the hippos in the Hippest Hippos set but I bet you probably have some other stamps and cute critters that these will coordinate with too.  Today we're gonna use the hippos but I'd love to see what you create with these dies and other sets!

stampin up, hippo dies, hippest hippos

The box card is super easy to make it doesn't take any more cardstock then a normal card and it will fold up to fit in an envelope.  My card box is made with Balmy Blue Cardstock.  You'll also need two tabs my tabs are also made from Balmy Blue.
Card Box
5" x 8 1/2"
On the long side score at 2", 4", 6" and 8" turn cardstock so the 1/2" tab is on the bottom
Score short side at 2" stopping at the 6" score line
Tabs
3 1/4" x 1" (two)
On the long side score at 5/8" each side

stampin up, hippo dies, hippest hippos

How you build your box card from here will depend on what you want.  I chose to trim off the side tabs, but you could leave them on if you wanted.  Holding my paper in landscape orientation with the 2" section on the top I trimmed off the first and third section.  The fourth section should NOT have a horizontal score line.  I also trimmed my 1/2" tab by cutting about 2" off the top.  (Check video for more details!).  Add adhesive to the 1/2" tab and creat a box.  The front will fold down and the back will stand up.

stampin up, hippo dies, hippest hippos

For the tabs inside add adhesive to the ends and tuck into the box.  I assembled all of my pieces onto those tabs.  For my water I cut 2" squares from Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana and die cut them with the waves die in the set.  They're adhered to the tab sandwiching the tab between them.  Bermuda Bay Adhere on the back of each tab and Coastal Cabana adhered on the front of each tab.  I added lots of accessories using the dies, cardstock and adhesive sheets!  Don't forget those!  I have a full supply list below.  Make sure you check out my video for all the details.  Don't forget to subscribe to myYouTube channel so you never miss a video.  I have a full supply list below, you can shop for these products in my Online Store.

You've Got This

Did you check out the card I shared Tuesday?  Check it out here. I have another cute card featuring the same card base fun fold, but we're not making an easel card this time.  So if you want a simpler version of Tuesday's card this is a great go to!  In addition to the adorable Glad We're Friends Set I'm using the Amazing Phrasing Set.  This is a Sale-a-Bration Set that you can only earn free during Sale a Bration with a qualifying $100 order.  Some of the elements from this card came from my scrap bowl on my desk.  I keep a small bowl on my desk and when I have spares or extras of something I didn't use I throw it in my bowl.  Then when I need something added on for another project I can look through my bowl and see what I have.  Both hearts and the tag were in my bowl.  Without having to die cut anything this card came together quickly, plus none of my scraps are wasted!

stampin up, glad we're friends

I colored and fussy cut my guinea pig but if you didn't want to fussy cut him you could just stamp him directly on the white piece then add the heart next to him.

Starry Sky Card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
On the long side score at 4 1/4"
On the short side cut at 1 1/4" and 4 1/4" stopping at the horizontal score line, cut off from card base
For the panel in the middle score at 2 1/8"

Basic White 2 3/4" x  4", 3" x 5/8"
Butterfly Kisses DSP 2 3/4" x 1"

I have a full supply list below, you can shop for these products in my Online Store.
