Over Top Shimmer Paint Wash

I have one last card to share using the Shimmer Paint Wash technique I shared on Wednesday.  I absolutely love the sparkle and shine it gives.  For this one I mixed some Coastal Cabana reinker into the Frost White Shimmer Paint to make a Coastal Cabana wash.  This one came out so beautiful I had to make an over the top card with it!  I used the First Frost Bundle.  The colors I used were Coastal Cabana, Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape.  I LOVE this color combo!!!!  I added a birthday greeting from the Another Wonderful Year set.  I heat embossed it in silver then stamped it again in Coastal Cabana and cut out just the banner.  Super cute!
To really make it over the top I added lots of silver details with Silver Metallic Thread, Silver Sequin Trim, Silver Sequins and of course Silver Glimmer paper.  The sparkle on this card is out of this world.  I love this card!!!  Shop for products in my online store.

Thank You Gold Wash

Yesterday I shared how to use our Shimmer Paint to make gorgeous watercolor washes.  Once I started I couldn't stop!  I also made this one.  I love that gold wash.  For this one I used less rubbing alcohol so the brush marks are more prominent.  I love that look!  I simply added the Thank you die cut, some gold sequins and linen thread to finish this card.  It's simply gorgeous!  Shop for products in my online store.

Christmas 10 Week Countdown, Week 7

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion.  Today's project is a cute hand sanitizer holder.  There are so many different ways to package up hand sanitizers.  Today's cute box is pretty cute plus I love all the non traditional colors of it too!
I used the hand sanitizer (from Bath and Body Works) as inspirations for the colors. This one is a purple holly berry one so I thought I'd pull in some purples for the box and even make a purple holly berry.  I love the pop of Granny Apple Green with the Gorgeous Grape.
To make this holder you'll need a piece of cardstock that is 4"x10".  On the 4" side score at 1" and 3".  On the 10" side score at 4 1/2" and 5 1/2".  Along the same side you'll add smaller scorelines that only go from the outside to the longer scorelines.  Those are made at 3 1/2" and 6 1/2".  You'll see all the lines marked in the picture.
There's a little trimming to do.  You'll remove the long rectangles on all 4 sides and cut up the tabs as pictured.  The tabs get adheres to the front and back pieces making your cute box.
To make the holly leaves.  I used a 1 3/4" circle punch and punched it out of Granny Apple Green DSP.  I then fed the circle back into the punch to punch a football shaped item.  I was able to get both leaves from one circle.
I then used my 1/2" circle punch and punched tiny notches out of each leaf.  Don't worry too much about making them perfect.  To complete my tag I used the Swirly Frames and Peaceful Noel stamp sets.  Shop all these products in my online store here.

Postcard Pals Fun Fold

I have two SUPER cute cards for you! These cards are so stinking cute it make my heart happy!  They're both done the same way.  I started by stamping and coloring my critters with Stampin' Blends.  I love coloring with the Blends and with sooo many amazing color choices there's something for everything!
My card base is 4 1/4" x 11".  On the 11" side score at 4" and 8".  You'll be left with 3 panels, 2 that are 4" tall and a shorter one.  I used a larger square from the Layering squares framelits and partially cut it from the smallest of the 3 panels.  I only put my top cutting plate on my big shot where I wanted the framelit to cut so in this case I lined the edge of the framelit up with the score line.  The framelit will cut the 3 sides of the square in the smallest panel but not beyond that.  Using just scissors trim the rest of the square along the score line.
The critters were cut using a smaller square from the stitched shapes.  When you assemble your card align the stamped image in the cut out window.  Your tri-fold card will fold up to open.  The piece with your coloring will fold down and open your card completely!  Super cute!!!

I added a simple popup feature inside the card for added fun! This card is stinkin' cute without the pop up too!

Use Your DSP Class

Last weekend I had a class that was all about using up the Designer Series Paper we all tend to hoard!  I think a lot of times we have trouble using it because both sides are so pretty we can't decide which to use.  Lots of my designs from my class feature both sides of the DSP so you don't have to choose!  My guests got to make a gift card holder and 3 cards. First up is the gift card hold.

It has a belly band and opens like a card so you have plenty of room to write a note.  It's super easy to make!  DSP Base 8” x 4”   On 8” Side score 4”  On 4” Side Score at 1 ½ “  Belly Band 6” x 1 ½ “

This card was super fun and a total hit at my class.  I was inspired by this card by fellow demonstrator Jessica for my card.  I love the fun accordion fold and the DSP is so gorgeous!
This one is easy to make too!  Card base  4 ¼ “ x  11”   On 11” Side score at 1 ½ “, 3”, 5 ½ “, and 8 DSP pieces:  4” x 1 ¼”, 4” x 2 ¼ “, 4 x 2 ¾ “

This fun gate fold card features both DSP sides on the front.  The 6x6 stacks of DSP are ideal for this card!  Card base  4 ¼ “ x  5 ½ ”  Card 4” x 5 ¼”  DSP pieces:  Two at 3” x 5 ¼ “  On 3” Side score at ½ “ and 2 ½ “

Finally this was my favorite.  It's a twist on the gatefold card by the diagonal lines give it such a different look!  I love it!  Especially with the tropical chic DSP!

Card base  4 ¼ “ x  5 ½ ”   Card 4” x 10 ½ “ on 10 ½ side score at 5 ¼ “   DSP pieces:  Two at 5” x 5 ¼ “  On 5” Side score at 1“, cut diagonally from score line to corner to get diagonal fold.  One at 5” x 3 ¾ “

Christmas 10 Week Countdown, Week 6

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion.  Today's gift idea is super cute, super easy, super fun and they make incredible gifts for everyone.  I love keeping a basket of these at my house and a few of them tucked in my purse.  They're small random acts of kindness gifts.  They're not fancy or elaborate.  They're just fun gifts to have on hand all through the holiday season and give out when carolers stop by, or maybe you had errands at the bank and post office, wouldn't these brighten those workers day to hand them a gift to spread some joy!

What about those teachers that help in the parent drop off/pick up lanes? I know they'd love a sweet treat.  Who's day wouldn't be brightened by these sweet gifts!  Plus they're soooo easy to make and you can use ANY DSP you have lying around.  None of them take large pieces of DSP so this is a great use of those scraps.  Today mine are adapted for these treats.  I have a Reese's Tree, a York Peppermint Snowflake and a Hershey's Santa.  They all came in one bag.  For the tree's you'll need a piece of DSP that is 4 1/2" x 3 1/4".  The snowflake you'll need DSP that is 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".  The Santa you'll need DSP that is 4 x 3 1/2".  I'll be assembling these later today on my Facebook Live at 2:30pm MST.  Can't catch me Live? Don't worry I'll post the video here after my live.

They're an unlikely trio but they seem to work together.  The framelits in the Snowflake Showcase are pretty amazing and again so much more than snowflakes.  They come with all these little leaf and sprig pieces too.  These items are only available for a limited time or while supplies last!  Don't miss your chance to get them before they're gone!

Christmas 10 Week Countdown Week 5

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion. Today's super cute box is the perfect size box for a truffle or other sweet treat!  This little box measures 2"x2" and is 1 1/4" tall.
I used the Festive Farmhouse DSP to add a belly band around it.  I added a tag using the Takeout Treats Stamp Set.  I punched out the greeting with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch then layered it onto a 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  I added a little Burlap Ribbon and added the entire thing a Pretty Label Punch on the belly band.
In my box I have one amazing and delicious Scotchmallow from See's Candy.  You could put any of their candies in this box.  The belly band comes off and the box opens from the top. These boxes are small enough you could make a bunch of them easily for a party, class treats or any other occasion!

To make this box you'll need a piece of cardstock that measures 8 1/2"x5 3/4".  On the 8 1/2" side score at 2", 4", 6" and 8".  On the 5 3/4" side score at 2", 3 1/4" and 5 1/4".  You'll trim along the score lines as indicated in the picture.  The pink tab on the side indicates where to put your adhesive.  Once you have that tab adhered, the bottom folds up with adhesive on the final piece and the top folds in.  Super cute!

Sunshine Wishes Hello Friend

One of my favorite framelit collections is the Sunshine Wishes set.  It's been around a while but I love the images and the greetings that you can cut out and add to any card.  This card is so cute and easy to make.  The sparkle from the glimmer paper makes this card so special!
I cut the heart from our Rose Glimmer Paper.  I love how it stands out against the Soft Suede background.  To add a little more interest I embossed it with the Tufted Embossing Folder.  One of my favorites!  I added a quick greeting using the Happiness Surrounds set and finished the cards with some pearls and linen thread.  Really cute and fun!

On Tuesday night I had a class featuring the amazing products in the Snowflake Showcase Promotion. We specifically focused on the Happiness Surrounds Set, Snowfall Thinlits and the White Velveteen Paper.  All are incredible products but only around this month.  Don't wait!  Get them today!

The Happiness Surrounds set is probably my favorite thing in this suite of products.  It's a true year round stamp set, with greetings that will work for any day of the year or any event.
The Snowfall Thinlits are amazing and detailed and they also can be used for events other than Christmas.  The thinlits also coordinate with lots of the floral images in the Happiness Surrounds set so even if you don't do snowflakes, the framelits are still a must have!
I also love all the backgrounds in this set.  The medallion on this card is beautiful along with the borders.  If you haven't gotten these products yet head to my online store and shop for them today!

Christmas 10 Week Countdown Week 4

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion. Today I have a cute treat bag, that is easy, quick and fun to make! We all need quick and cute projects during the holiday season!  These sweet bags would be great party favors, sweet surprises on a co-workers desk or a sweet treat for a teacher.  I started with our 3"x6" gusseted bags and I added a piece of DSP inside to help shape the bag and lets face it make it stinkin' cute!
The DSP is cut to 8"x2 7/8" scored on the 8" side at 2" and 3 3/4".  It fits perfectly in the bag!  I filled my treat bag with some yummy caramels! I tied the bag from top to bottom using our Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and added a quick tag featuring the Another Wonderful Year set.  I punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and layered it onto a 2" Circle of Shaded Spruce.  So cute and fun!  Join me next week for week 5 of the countdown!

Double Nuggets

I love making little treat boxes, they're one of my favorite things to make.  When I saw this tutorial from Julie I knew I had to make it!  This sweet little box is so cute and so easy to make!  You can check out Julie's video here for instructions on how to make this box.  I used Lovely Lipstick Cardstock for my box.
I wrapped the nuggets in the Broadway Bound DSP.  For the outside of the box I stamped a greeting from the Itty Bitty Greetings and used the Blossom Builder punch to make a sweet flower with the Subtles DSP.  To finish it I used a Gold Faceted Gem in the center.
