Back On Your Feet Featuring The Sloth

Yesterday I shared this super cute card on my weekly Facebook Live.  Make sure you catch me live every Tuesday at 3pm MT.  Find me at Ruth's Stamping Corner.  If you missed me live you can catch the reply on YouTube or below.  Don't forget to subscribe to YouTube so you never miss a video.  I love the card I shared.  I broke out my Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painter.  I haven't colored with those in a while I tend to grab my Blends more often now.  But I do love to watercolor too!  I also used the Back On Your Feet Set featuring the cute sloth!  The entire set is super cute though!  Any of the images would work with this layout.  I used some of the Neutral DSP, Layering Leaves Embossing Folder and the Stitched Nested Layers Dies.  For more details on this card you can check out my video below.

Grateful Wild Rose

At our team meeting last week we had a fun swap.  The theme of the swap was your favorite color.  I of course had to use Coastal Cabana!  It's my favorite. I was heartbroken when it retired years ago and I was overjoyed when it returned last year.  I used the To A Wild Rose Bundle for my swap and I paired my Coastal Cabana with Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green.  I Silver Heat Embossed the outline image for the rose and added a pop of Silver Glimmer Paper to add to the sparkle.  For just a little extra sparkle I added some Glimmer Enamel Dots too.  I have the rest of my teams swaps to share tomorrow so make sure to check back then!

You Got This

The Here's To Strong Women Set is quickly becoming one of my favorites! It's an amazing set for encouragement cards and cards to send to you friends anytime!  I stamped the greeting and die cut it with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I ran the Crumb Cake Cardstock through the Subtle Embossing Folder for some extra texture.
I had stamped and fussy cut these flowers a while ago for this card and I had some left over flowers so I decided to add them to this card.  The flowers are from the Floral Essence Set  If fussy cutting isn't your thing, choose a flower that you have some dies for.  These were easy for me because they were done.  I finished the card with some Gorgeous Grape Striped Ribbon and a Linen Thread bow.  If you love the Here's To Strong Women Set check back on August 1 for my August Class To Go featuring the Here's To Strong Women Set.

Facebook Live Walrus Slider

One of my favorite cards to make are interactive ones.  I love this fun slider walrus card!  Once you have the basic technique of slider cards down you'll never stop making them.  They're so much fun to make and even more fun to receive.  I made this card is my weekly Facebook Live yesterday.  If you missed it you can watch the video below.  Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you'll never miss a video.
I used the We'll Walrus Be Friends Set.  OMG! SO CUTE!!!  To make the slider I punched the slider area with the Classic Label Punch and used Foam Adhesive Strips and Mini Dimensionals to get him to slide back and forth.  For my background I stamped the splatter image over and over from the Birthday Backgrounds Set.  I finished the card with some Frosted Droplets.  For my walrus I colored him using the Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends and the ice using Pool Party Blends. For the rest of the details on this card check out my video.

Hoot Hoot Hooray

How stinkin' cute is this little owl!!?!  AHHH!  So adorable!  You might be thinking, 'where is this owl? I haven't seen him in a set anywhere?!' This owl isn't in the Annual Catalog, but it is in the Beginner Brochure. The Beginner Brochure is aimed towards beginner stampers who may find our annual catalog a little overwhelming. But just because it's in the Beginner Brochure doesn't make it any less adorable for any level of stamper!  What's great about this brochure is that if you are a beginner or maybe your gifting some supplies to a beginner, there's kits you can purchase that contain everything you need to make amazing cards.
For example the Hoot Hoot Hooray Cards Bundle contains, the adorable Hoot Hoot Hooray set, a package of White Notecards and Envelopes, Watercolor Pencils, a block and a Basic Gray Ink Pad.  It's a great value and a great purchase for a beginner. If you don't want the bundle you can still get the Hoot Hoot Hooray Set alone in my online store.  For my card I used Stampin' Blends instead of the Watercolor Pencils.  I stamped my owl in Crumb Cake ink and did a 'no line coloring' that means there's no outside lines where the image was stamped, since I used Crumb Cake Stampin Blends it all melded together.  I used some Soft Suede Blends to add some darker highlights here and there.  The greeting was White Heat Embossed then punched out with the Classic Label Punch.  I finished it with a Linen Thread bow.  So cute!!!!

Walrus Slider

Ok friends! I am officially in love with the We'll Walrus Be Friends Stamp Set.  I knew I'd love it, because it's cute animals and puns and who doesn't love that??? But holy cow I love it so much more than I thought!  I made this cute slider card that has a secret message when you slide the top up.
How stinkin' sweet.  I used this tutorial by Erica Cerwin to make this card.  I really like it, but I didn't like that the slider flap flopped around a little.  When I remake this card I may find a way to anchor it down so it just slides and doesn't flap.  But that's a minor detail on this super cute card!  I used lots of Stampin' Blends to color this card.  I've listed the colors below.  The DSP on the card is the Coastal Cabana sheet from the Brights DSP pack.
Blends used: Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Mango Melody

Magnolia Four Ways

I had lots of magnolia flowers on my desk that I had stamped weeks ago from the Good Morning Magnolia Set and intended to color and turn into cards.  Well days turned to weeks until I finally in a stamping slump sat down and colored them.  I used 4 different sets of Stampin' Blends.  I have no idea if there are magnolia flowers that are these colors but I love them all!  The first card I used Purple Posy and Mossy Meadow Blends.
As far as the rest of the elements on each card they're all the same.  I used the Layered Leaves Embossing folder on all of them.  I added a greeting from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set.  I matched all the card bases to the color of the flowers.  For this one I used Mango Melody and Old Olive Blends.
I fussy cut the 'wonderful' from the sentiment and then stamped the 'you are' on cardstock to match the flowers and card bases.  I really LOVE this one with Rococo Rose and Mossy Meadow Blends.
My last one I used Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I love them all! I will be back on Monday, I'm taking some time off this weekend.  You can shop my online store here.

More Color Blocking

Yesterday I shared some color blocking cards using the Good Morning Magnolia Set.  Today I'm share LOTS and I mean LOTS of color blocking cards using the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set.  Before we get to the cards, if you don't have the Beautiful Friendship set on your wishlist you are missing out!!!  It's an amazing and versatile set!  I can't stop using it!!!! Back to the cards.....  All my samples today are different I was looking for a combo that I loved.  In the end I loved them all, but I do have a favorite...The first two samples I white heat embossed the rose image on Pretty Peacock cardstock.  While I like it the heat embossing wasn't my favorite because you couldn't see the detail in the rose.  This is a Distinktive stamp set which means it will stamp with some area darker/lighter than others for a realistic image.  So for the majority of the cards I stuck with our classic inks.
I created these color blocking cards in the same way as yesterday's cards.  I used my Stamparatus to make sure each image was stamped in the same spot so when they were cut in half they'd still line up perfectly.
As you can see I got a little carried away and made a ton of samples, though these Gorgeous Grape/Highland Heather ones are pretty spectacular!
Finally my last samples.  This one I tried the White Shimmer Embossing Powder.  I love the depth you get with the shimmer embossing powder, when you tilt the card different parts shimmer, it's really pretty!

Magnolia Color Block

I have some fun cards to share with you today.  If you love these cards you won't want to miss tomorrow's post!  I love these fun color blocking card, and I love that when you do this technique you quickly can make multiple cards!  I started with the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and 4 pieces of cardstock in 4 different colors all cut to the same size. for today's card it's 4" x 5 1/4".  Today I'm using Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Seafoam and So Saffron.  I mounted my large magnolia image in my Stamparatus and white heat embossed the magnolia image on all 4 pieces of cardstock.  Since I was using my Stamparatus my images were stamped in the same location every single time.  That's key for this technique.
Then I cut each piece of cardstock in half in both directions (2" and 2 5/8").  Then it was easy to finish the cards.  I simply took one of each color and mounted them my card base. This gave me 4 cards, all similar but not identical. Because the image was stamped in the same place on every card the images all lined up perfectly.  I finished the cards with a greeting from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set.  It's a great, fun and quick way to make multiple cards.  Don't forget if you like this technique to check my blog tomorrow!

Shimmer Embossed Elephant

A couple weeks ago I had an amazing meeting with my team.  We did a virtual meeting in our team only Facebook group.  I shared some fun techniques with them including this one, where you emboss your image after coloring it with Stampin' Blends.  With the help of the Stamparatus it's super easy to do!  I did a video featuring this technique, you can watch that here.
For this card I featured the Wildly Happy Stamp Set.   I love this set!!  It's one of my favorites!  This sweet elephant image is my favorite though! I love the Black Shimmer Embossing Powder, I think it really makes those images pop!  The embossing powder is quickly finding a permanent spot on my desk, I can't stop using it!!!

Accordion card

Hello and welcome! I have a fun card to share today.  It's a quick card but really cute!  There's lots of measurements so I'll list them all below for you.  I love this fun accordion fold card.  I don't actually know if that's what's it called but you fold the cardstock back and forth like an accordion fan so I'm going with it.  It's a smaller card than our standard cards but still cute!  And if you're not into the smaller card you could always make this larger or just attach to a larger card base. I used the new Pressed Petals Washi Tape on this, you guys this washi tape is so cool!  You peel off petals from the roll and create flowers.  So fun!!!
The card base is 4 1/4" x 11" On the 11" side score at 1 1/2", 3" 5 1/2" and 8".  The layers are cut at: Gold Glimmer 4" x 1 1/4",  Basic Black 4" x 2 1/4", Whisper White 4" x 2 3/4"

To A Wild Rose And Stamparatus Technique Video!

I have a really fun technique to share with you today.  If you haven't invested in the Stamparatus yet.  This might just change your mind.  I LOVE my Stamparatus and use it all the time.  It never even leaves my desk.  Stamping multi image stamps sometimes can be tricky, I have a great technique that will take all the guess work out of how to line up images and stamp more than one at a time.  This card uses the beautiful To A Wild Rose Set. It's one of my favorites and when you bundle it with the dies you get 10% off.  Check out the video for all the details on how to make this beautiful card.  Shop my online store here.

Waterfront Mountatin

I have a fun and quick card to share today.  I made this card last month for Father's Day and I'm just getting around to posting it.  I love it though.  I used the Waterfront stamp set.  This set is so beautiful and so much fun for creating fun scenes like this one.   I love stamp sets that you can layer and build up.  For this card I decided to make a reflection in the pond.  With this stamp set it's easy to do because the images are sketchy and watercolor like so it doesn't have to be an exact reflection.  After I stamped my trees over the mountains, I flipped my stamp over so the trees were upside down and stamped them again.  I didn't reink my stamp because I wanted the lighter shade, if you look really, really, really close you can see that the left and right tree shapes don't match the refection perfectly, but again you have to look REALLY close and reflections are not exact mirror duplicates anyway so I was fine with it.  It's a fun card with a wonderful set! You can shop my online store here.

Flower Power Class

I took a bit of a blog break for a few days.  It was a long holiday weekend in the US and we've been prepping to drop my son off at summer camp.  We dropped him off yesterday and we'll return to pick him up on Saturday.  It's the first time he's been away for a week.  I'm sure he'll have a great time.  I had an amazing class over the weekend! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these cards from class.  They're some of my all time favorites! The theme of the class was Flower Power and featured all floral stamped images.  The first one features the new Daisy Lane set.  So cute and I just LOVE how incredible those flowers look against the black background!
Next up is probably my favorite floral stamp set in the catalog.  Beautiful Friendship.  I love this set.  I've had so much fun building and crafting with it.  It's one of my favorites and will likely have a permanent spot on my desk.
The next card features the Good Morning Magnolia set.  This card was a little complicated and a step up from my normal class cards but I LOVED it so much that I had to put it in my class.  There was lot of die cutting, stamping and fun folds but in the end it's super cute and worth it all!
It's a fun fold too, which I love!!  If you love fun folds stay tuned to the end of my blog post for a special class!
Finally the last card features the Path of Petals set.  This set is so gorgeous and the sentiments are some of the best in the catalog. It's a must have for sure!

My class is August is going to be soooo much fun!  If you love fun fold cards you won't want to miss it! If you're local in the Albuquerque area I'd love to have you attend my class. Simply email me at stamperrdn@q.com that you want to attend.

Back On Your Feet VIDEO

I have a really cute card for you today and one that uses a great technique when you want to have a heat embossed image that is colored with our Stampin' Blends.  Our Stampin' Blends are alcohol markers and alcohol markers have a habit of dissolving embossing powder, even after it's been heated.  This is especially bad if you have black embossing powder and a light marker.  The embossing powder could smear and ruin your project, as well as the tip of your Stampin' Blend. So how do you solve this problem when you want an embossed image AND to have that image colored with Stampin' Blends?  The answer is your Stamparatus. If you don't own a Stamparatus this is a great time to get one with Bonus Days in full swing! In my video I share how I colored this adorable turtle and how to emboss directly over it after you're done coloring.  You can shop my online store here.

Path of Petals dies

I have a beautiful card to share today.  I am loving the Path of Petals Bundle.  It's not one that originally stood out to me but it's one that I haven't been able to put down.  The dies that come in the bundle are these gorgeous oval frame dies and they're simply stunning when cut out.  For this card I cut it out of white then used Stampin' Blends to color each part of the frame.  I used Soft Seafoam on the green parts and a mixture of Highland Heather and Purple Posy on the flowers.  The greetings in this set are stunning too!  They're some of my favorites.  I used my Stitched Shapes Dies and cut the greeting out with one of the larger ovals.  I used my Stampin' Blend to color just up to that stitching line to give the illusion of another layer.  I love it! I used some pearls to finish it off.   You can pick up the Path of Petals Bundle in my online store today.
