Conversation Bubbles and Gingham Cinched Top Box

Yesterday for Sale-a-Bration Sunday I shared this adorable Cinched Top Box.  I wanted to share another version of that box to share just how versatile and fun it is.  If you haven't checked out yesterday's post make sure you do, there's also a video that shares how to make this box.  For today's box I'm using the Conversation Bubbles Bundle.  Such a cute bundle for so many projects.  I'm also using the Country Gingham DSP.

My box is Sweet Sorbet, the DSP is Sweet Sorbet, the ink is Sweet Sorbet and the twine is Sweet Sorbet.  I love our color coordination and this makes for such a CUTE box.  I added some die cut hearts, also from the Conversation Bubbles Dies, for a pop of color.  It's so sweet!

To make your own cinched top box:
Sweet Sorbet 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Start on one side and score at 1 1/2" and 4 1/2"
Turn cardstock so the 1 1/2" is at the top of the Simply Scored Tool score at 1", 2", 3", 4" and 5", with the cardstock in the same position make a mark with the stylus or a pencil at 1/2", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3 1/2" and 4 1/2"

Trim bottom tabs.  On the top with the marks score diagonally from the mark to the intersecting score line below on either side of the mark.

Sale-a-Bration Sunday-Dainty Flowers DSP Lindor Truffle Cinched Top Box-VIDEO

Today for Sale-a-Bration Sunday I'm featuring the Dainty Flowers DSP.  This DSP makes some incredible and amazing cards!  It's a gorgeous DSP!  But I wanted to use it for a box instead of a card today.  This box has been floating around my head for a couple of weeks and I finally found the right treat to put inside it! This cute cinched top box is fancy enough to impress but easy enough to make a bunch!  It's my kind of box!

stampin up, dainty flowers

I used Crushed Curry Cardstock for my actual box and wrapped it in the Dainty Flowers DSP.  I also die cut a tag from the DSP and fussy cut some flowers directly from the DSP.  My greeting is stamped on some of the leftover DSP too.  No waste here!  This DSP coordinates with the Dainty Delight Bundle in the Mini Catalog.  If you love this DSP make sure you grab that bundle too!  It also has some fun dies that die cut some flowers if you don't want to fussy cut the flowers in the DSP.

Best Day Stacked Cake

Today I'm sharing a bright, fun and cheerful card that is perfect for anyone's birthday!  I used the new Best Day Set and stamped the cake image five times.  I colored them all with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut them out.  On the bottom four cakes I trimmed off the 'happy birthday' greeting.  On the top cake I left it and fussy cut it around it as well.  The cakes were all stacked and adhered together before putting it on a slim line card.  It's so fun!

All my Stampin' Blends colors are listed below in my supply list.  I also used some of the new Vellum Basics to add just a subtle detail behind my cake.  It's hard to see in the photos but I used the striped vellum and I love the way it looks on the Basic White Cardstock.  My DSP is from the Perfectly Penciled DSP, this is a great black and white package that is good for any occasion.  Here's all the measurements to make this card.

Daffodil Delight 8 1/2" x 7" on the short side score at 3 1/2"
Basic White 8 1/4" x 3 1/4
Vellum Basics 8" x 3"
Perfectly Penciled DSP 3 1/4" x 2
Melon Mambo 3 1/4" x 5/8"

Silly Goose Class Card One and Prep-Silly Goose Birthday

Hello!!!  I'm so excited to release a new series on my blog!  This is the first class in my Stamp A Stack Series.  I'm hoping to provide these stamp a stack classes every month, or at least every other month.  I'll pick a stamp set and feature it in three fun cards.  If you want to purchase the class kit from me and make the cards yourself I'm happy to provide the kit for you!  Details below.  This is card one in my class.  This class will feature the Silly Goose Set.  If you don't have the Silly Goose Set you can shop for it in my Online Store or substitute a similar set.  The Silly Goose Set is available in Cling Mount or Photopolymer.  You can choose which you prefer.  I prefer Photopolymer because I find it more convenient for me and my stamping.  If you prefer to watercolor over coloring with Stampin' Blends you might want to choose Cling Mount as it works better with StazOn Ink for watercoloring.  The choice is yours!

Included in your kit is 12 sheets (6" x 6") of the Dandy Designs DSP, this DSP is only available during Sale-a-Bration free with a $100 order.  You'll need to choose three designs to trim and use for your cards.  Check out the video for the details on trimming your DSP.

You'll trim all three sheets the same:
Cut at 4", then trim the 4" x 6" piece on the long side at 2", then 2" again. You should have three 2" x 4" pieces.

With the remaining 2" x 6" piece of DSP, trim on the short side at 1 1/2", then trim on the long side every 1" until you have six 1 1/2" x 1" pieces.

With the remaining 1/2" x 6" piece trim at 4"

Repeat with remaining two sheets of DSP.

When you're done trimming the three sheets you should be left with
-Nine 2" x 4" pieces
-Eighteen 1 1/2" x 1" pieces
-Three 1/2" x 4" pieces

You'll use all the pieces on all nine cards in this class.
