Halloweeen 10 Countdown week 10

Happy Halloween! We're at the end of our countdown!  It's been so much fun sharing so many fun Halloween projects with you.  I have one last one to share.  I love how this came out!!!  I used Mango Melody, Basic Black and some DSP from the Broadway Bound Pack.

The pumpkin is made with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Three ovals layered up makes the perfect Pumpkin. I hand cut the stem and added lots of Shaded Spruce leaves and Gold Glimmer sprigs with the Leaf and Sprig punch.
Inside is a fun notepad. I added a pencil holder with a simple loop of cardstock. So fun!!!  The notepad I found at Target in the Dollar Spot.  To make your own you'll need a piece of cardstock that measures 8" x 8 1/2" on the 8 1/2" side score at 4" and 4 3/8". Easy peasy!

Christams 10 Week Countdown Week 3

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion.  Today I have a fun Card Caddy To share.  I love giving cards as gifts and even better when I can package them up in cute fun ways!  This caddy is fun and easy to put together.  You'll need 2 pieces of cardstock for this one cut to 6"x6", this is the back, I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut a handle out.  The other piece of cardstock you'll need is 9"x5" on the 9" side score at 1/2, 1 1/2", 7 1/2 and 8 1/2" on the 5" Side score at  1/2 and 1 1/2". Check out the video below to see how the caddy was assembled.
The cards that it holds are really cute!  I used Silver Foil edge cards and envelopes and paired them with the Signs of Santa Bundle.  The cards are all assembled the same.  I have 2 each of the 3 designs in the card caddy for a total of 6 cards.
Six cards in the caddy is a very tight fit, however, I used LOTS of Dimensionals on mine.  I think if your cards had less Dimensionals you could easily fit 6 cards and envelopes in it.  Making it a wonderful gift!
You could even fill the caddy with thank you cards and give it as a gift for Christmas, we need lots of Thank You cards after Christmas.  Or if you have a friend or family member that loves to send Birthday cards fill it with birthday cards! Either way it's sure to make a great gift!

Season of Joy!

A couple weeks ago I had my team meeting and I never shared our amazing Make and Take!  This card is sooo much fun and soooo cute! It's a fun fold that utilizes DSP.  I'm working really hard this year on USING my DSP and not hording it!  Our DSP is so fantastic that you should share it and use it!  The fun fold part on this card is that instead of opening like a traditional card, the DSP portion opens up.  So much fun!  The DSP is cut to 6" x 3" Scored at 3/4".  Scoring it at 3/4" leaves a tiny gap on the bottom of the card which I covered up with a piece of cardstock.  If you didn't want that gap, simply score at 1/2"
I used the greeting in the Merry Christmas To All set. The poinsettia was made using the Blossom Builder Punch.  This is such a fun card to make and one that you could mass produce for your Christmas Cards this year.

Halloween 10 Week Countdown Week 9

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Halloween idea all the way up to October 31!  If you don't craft for Halloween, don't worry!  You can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion. Today's project is a sweet treat and the perfect gift for any friend, neighbor or coworker.  I used the Bubble Cauldron Bundle for this one. I colored my element with Stampin' Blends.  They're my favorite! I love the black glitter ribbon!
When you flip the box over and open it up you find a yummy Kit Kat Bar. I saw this cute holder on Pintrest and modified it slightly for my project.  It's super cute!  To make it you'll need a piece of 8"x10" cardstock. On the 8" side score at 2", 2 1/2", 5 1/2", and 6".  On the 10" side score at 2 1/2", 3", 7", and 7 1/2".  You'll just trim away all the corner pieces and round all the corners on your four flaps.  A Kit Kat bar fits perfectly!

Christmas 10 Week Countdown Week 2

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion. Today I have a fun Wine Tag that you could put on any bottle as a fun gift for a host or hostess of a Christmas Party.  Wine tags are super easy to make, I started with a piece of cardstock that is 8 1/2" x 3" score on the 8 1/2" side at 2 1/2.  Use your 1 1/2" Circle Punch to punch a hole for the bottle neck.  Easy peasy!  Then you just decorate the larger part however you want!
I used the Santa's Workshop DSP for this one.  (PS I have one more super cute project to share next week featuring the Santa's Workshop DSP)  I fussy cut the image of Santa resting, probably after delivering all those toys!  I used the Signs of Santa set to stamp the To and From.  Super cute!!!

Halloween 10 Week Countdown Week 8

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Halloween idea all the way up to October 31!  If you don't craft for Halloween, don't worry!  You can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion.  Today's gift is sooooo much fun and it might be my favorite yet!  I made an adorable Halloween Explosion Box!  It's so much fun!  We'll get the box measurements in a minute, first let's talk about the tag!
For the cute little puppy tag I used the Trick or Tweet Stamp set and colored him in using Stampin' Blends.  I used the combos of Soft Suede, Mango Melody, Basic Black and Highland Heather.  I made his cape two toned, the inside of his cape is a different color than the outside.  There are a million ways to color these cute guys!
For the box, I mentioned it's an explosion box, so the bottom comes apart and reveals the treat when the lid is removed.  The bottom of the box is a 9"x9" square, scored at 3" on all sides.  All you do is remove all four corners.  They'll fold up to form the bottom of your box, no adhesive required!  The lid is 5 1/8" square, scored at 1" on all four sides.  The lid is assembled like you would your standard lid.  Cut up on the score lines on each side then fold the tabs under to adhere the lid.  Inside my box I have a spooky Halloween candle that I found in Target's Dollar spot.  Spooky and fun!

Christmas 10 Week Countdown Week 1

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Christmas idea all the way up to December 18, only a week away from Christmas!  Of course you can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion.  Today we're starting with a fun gift card holder.  I don't know about you but gift cards are always a fun gift to give around the Holidays.  Today's gift cards holder is super cute and super easy!!!  The front is decorated using the Santa's Workshop DSP.  This DSP is soooo special!  Lots of the pages are flocked and are just amazing and luxurious!  Plus LOTS of the images coordinate with the Santa's Signpost Framelits.  Today's images do not.  I fussy cut them, but they're simple images and were easy to do!
I love this fun gift card hold because it reminds me of an old envelope with the brads that you tied shut.  This is just a mini version of it!  To make the holder you'll need a piece of cardstock that is 4 3/4" x 5 1/2".  On the 4 3/4" side score at 1" and 3 1/4" on the 5 1/2" side score at 3/4" and 4 1/4".  Trimming it is easy, just remove the four corners on the score line.  I used the Detailed trio punch to round the corners on the top and bottom flaps.  Then I adhered everything together.  I started with the sides, the folded the bottom up.
Finally I added 2 brads one on the top flap and another on the holder.  The trickiest part of making this holder is the brads.  I used my paper piercer to carefully punch a hole then I pushed the brad through and again used my paper piercer to unfold the legs of the brad.  I added a finger hole with the 3/4" circle punch.  Not necessary but it helps in sliding the gift card out.  Super cute!  I have so much more to share on our countdown to Christmas!  Join me every week!

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Over the weekend I had my Annual Christmas Stamp a Stack.  This is my biggest class to prep I love doing this class every year! My guests all leave with a stack of cards to start the season!  This years cards are some of my favorites!!!!!  I can't choose a favorite among the 5.  But I do love the copper in this one!
The Under the Mistletoe DSP in the Annual Catalog was front and center for this card. I love how simple and pretty this one is!!!  One of my goals when designing cards for any class, but especially for my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack is they MUST be mailable with one stamp.  All of these cards are.
Just because there's no giant embellishments on them doesn't mean you have to sacrifice on quality.  Quite the opposite, sometimes the simplest cards are the most loved!  This one is no exception.  I love all the bright white space and that Poppy Parade Buffalo Check Tree!  SO PRETTY!
The Dashing Deer Bundle has been one of my most loved bundles in the Holiday Catalog.  This card is a clear example of why.  With just one cut out and some amazing DSP you can have a beautiful card!
Finally we have our final card featuring the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Typically I love to throw in some cards using some non-traditional Christmas colors but this year I kept everything very classic and very traditional.  Thanks to all my guests who joined me at the class!

Signs of Santa

I'm sharing my second swap card from our meeting today.  This card is soooooo cute and makes me sooooooo happy!!!  Plus I had soooo much fun coloring a bunch of Santa's!  I used my Stampin' Blends to color him.  I used the Real Red (light and dark), Mango Melody (light and dark), Petal Pink (dark) and Ivory.
I love the little Santa compass image in the stamp set and used that to add a fun background to my Call me Clover cardstock.  The greeting is from the Christmas Pines stamp set.  I finished the card with some pops of gold with some Glimmer Paper and Metallic Thread.  Look for all the swaps from my team coming next week!

Christmas Wish

On Tuesday I had a team meeting. They're always so much fun!  One of the highlights of our meetings is the swaps!  I did two cards for the swap this month and this is one of my cards.  I was inspired by a card that Stampin' Up! posted on their Instagram page made by fellow demonstrator Rhonda Macpherson.  I loved that she paired the Broadway Birthday with the Merry Christmas To all set.  I used the Joyous Noel DSP with some copper metallic shine to add extra sparkle and shine! I'll share my second swap card tomorrow!

Halloween 10 Week Countdown Week 7

Over the next 10 weeks I'll share a new and fun Halloween idea all the way up to October 31!  If you don't craft for Halloween, don't worry!  You can adapt all of these ideas to any holiday or occasion.  Today's super cute box is a brownie backpack.  Yes! You read that right a brownie backpack.  Is there anything better than that?  I got this super cute idea from Erica Cerwin.  I watched this video on her youtube channel.  I modified my measurements a little and added some backpack straps, but the box assembly is the same as the video.
The measurements for my backpack are: You'll need a piece of cardstock that is 8 1/4" x 9 1/2". On the 8 1/4" side you'll score at 1 1/2", 2 1/4" and 6 3/4" on the 9 1/2" side you'll score at 1/2", 2", 5", and 6 1/2".  The backpack straps are 5 1/4" x 3/4", you'll need 2, I scored each one at 3/4" from either end.  I went with some non traditional Halloween colors for this box.  I used Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron.  I used the Takeout Treat Set to jazz up my box.  I stamped the star repeatedly with Blackberry Bliss ink and used the Less Tricks more Treats greeting and label stamp for the tag.  So cute!
Like I said this backpack holds a yummy turtle brownie!  It's a brownie backpack!  LOVE IT!!!  I'll be making a bunch of these for the kids teachers for Halloween this year.  Thanks for joining me on my countdown! Only 3 weeks left!

Dashing Deer

Dashing Deer is one of my favorite sets in the Holiday Catalog.  I've loved every card I've made with it.  When I comes to Christmas I'm a non-traditional color kind of girl.  So this Coastal Cabana Christmas card makes me sooooo happy!!!!  I stamped the Merry Christmas greeting on the background using the Merry Christmas To All Set.  The deer is stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with the coordinating framelits.
I added the deer to a 2 1/4" Vellum Circle.  On the card base I made a nest with our White Polka Dot ribbon and added my deer over that.  I love the translucency of the vellum and the whimsicalness of the polka dot ribbon. They look so pretty together!  Next week I start my 10 Week Christmas Countdown full of Christmas gift and packaging ideas!  I can't wait!  Join me next Tuesday as we count down!

Bike Ride

Last week when I had my Bike Ride stamp set out I made this card.  I LOVE it!  It's so simple but so rich in color and so bold!  I used Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy for my bike, I love these deep dark colors, it really makes the bike pop off the paper.  The greeting is from the Sunny Days stamp set.  I popped it up on Dimensionals to stand off the card a little.
For the bike I used my amazing Stamparatus to line it all up and stamp it perfectly!  After it was all stamped I used my Light Smoky Slate maker to add some shadow under the bike, there's nothing worse then a floating bike.  I also added some detail to the wheels with my marker, just some quick highlights.  I love the Bike Ride set because all the images have a line image and a coordinating solid image so you can quickly stamp a card in no time!  I love the way this card came out.

Reinderr Card

With Christmas less than 3 months away it's time to get serious about our Christmas Cards!  I have the cutest reindeer card to share with you today!!!!  It's so simple that you'll love making a stack of these!  I stared with a Crumb Cake piece that is 5"x3 3/4" I gently sponged around the edge in Crumb Cake ink to add some depth.  You need a handful of punches for this but I'll give you a HUGE time saving tip!  Before you punch anything line the back of all your cardstock with some Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, then punch your image.  With the adhesive sheets on the back it makes you punched image basically a sticker.  No fiddling around with liquid glue or glue dots. Just peel and stick!!!!
For the antlers in Soft Suede I used the new Sprig Punch.  The ears in Crumb Cake are made with the 1 1/4" Circle punch.  After you punch one circle, feed that circle back into the punch and punch it again, making a football shape.  The inside of the ears are Petal Pink and I used the 1" Circle punch, done in the same way the ears were done. The pine branches are of course in Shaded Spruce and are from the Pretty Pines Thinlits (make sure you line this cardstock with those Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets too!).  His eyes are in Basic Black and I used the 1 1/4" Circle punch.  Punch one circle then move the punch up slightly and punch again.  This gives you the perfect arch for his eyes. His nose is Poppy Parade using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch again.  I popped the nose up with a dimensional and added lots of Wink of Stella for shimmer.  So cute!

Hinge Step Stamparatus Technique and VIDEO!

My Facebook Live this week I shared how to do the Hinge Step Technique on the Stamparatus.  Don't forget to tune into my Facebook Lives every week on Tuesdays at 2:30pm (MST), Find me at Ruth's Stamping Corner. The hinge step is such a fun and unique way to use a stamp positioner and one that ONLY works with our unique Stamparatus!  I used 3 different stamp sets for my card.  First is the Bike Ride set.  I only used the solid circle, that makes my gorgeous background.  The hearts are from the Making Every Day Bright Set and the greeting is from the Sunny Days stamp set.  I love that greeting!  Check out my video here to see how it was done and how you can make one too!
