Emotion Filled Day

Today I start sharing all the projects I made at Superhero Weekend.  Keep checking back all week and into the weekend for all the projects I made.  I shared most of them on facebook, here's all the details you've been waiting for though :)  I actually didn't make that many projects (compared to other weekends).  Today's project I spent nearly 8 hours on.  Most of Saturday was spent on this one project.  There is some heartbreaking news on this project though...more on that in a minute.  If you haven't seen the new Disney/Pixar Movie Inside Out this post might not make a whole lot of sense to you.  If you have seen it, you get it!  We saw it right after it came out, and loved it.  I loved all the characters too and from the moment we saw the movie I'd been thinking about how to do them in punch art.  Ready for the bad news.......I can't find my notes.  When I make punch art, I always take notes, write down the punches, sizes, tips, etc......I can't find my notes!!!  As much as I hate, hate, hate, hate to admit it, I think they were accidentally tossed out.  I'm going to do my best to give you punches for these guys but honestly they're under glass and I don't remember all of them :(  I'm so heartbroken about these notes!  I'm going to try to get them all and then I'll have notes here on my blog....

I have it hanging in my stamp room.  When I hung it up.  I realized that a lot of the stuff I have displayed is really old, and most of it is retired.  I may go through my cards and start the process of updating my boards and art I have displayed around the room.  The problem is, I love it!  I love it all!  I'll keep you up to date.....

Sadness:  She was the last one I did, She's also the only one with a full body so that made her more challenging to do from the beginning.  I wanted her touching a letter, and having that letter turn blue, because that's what she does in the movie, not to letters but memories, anyway go see the movie!   So she's touching the 'O' and the top half of the 'O' is blue the bottom is green.  CUTE!  Here's the punches I THINK I used: Glasses-3/4" and 1" Circle, Head and Hair-1 1/2" Circle, Eyes-1/2" and 1/4" Circle, Body-XL Oval, Legs, Feet and Arm-Word Window.  I used Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Smoky Slate, Basic Black and Whisper White for her.

Fear: He's Dan's favorite so I didn't want him messed up :)  Again these punches are guesstimates?  Head and Body-Bow Builder, Eyes-Small Oval (retired) and 1/4" Circle, Nose-XL Oval, Arms and Hair on top of his head-1 1/2" Circle, Hands-Boho Blossom (retired), Bow Tie-1/4" Circle and Hearts Border.  I used Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  Disgust:  She's challenging because if you don't get her eyes and mouth right she ends up looking more angry than disgusted...Head and Hair-1 1/2" Circle, Eyes and Eyelashes-Triple Heart (retired), 1/4" Circle and Small Oval (retired), Nose-1/4" Circle, Mouth-1/2" Circle (hand cut all the elements from the circles), Scarf-1/4" Circle and 3/4" Circle.  I used Pear Pizazz, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red, Basic Black and Whisper White on her.

Joy: She was the first one I did and she was quite the challenge.  Head and Hair-1 1/2" Circle, Eyes-Triple Heart (retired) and 1/4" Circle, Mouth-1" Circle, Nose 1/4" Circle, Body-Bow Builder. I used So Saffron, Marina Mist, Pear Pizazz, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  Anger: He was probably the easiest, for his head I just cut a 1 1/2"x2" piece of cardstock and corner rounded the corners.  I hand cut the top of his head.  Flames-1 1/2" Circle, Eyes-3/4", 1/2" and 1/4" circle, Mouth-1" Circle (trimmed), Body-1 1/2"x1" piece of cardstock, Tie-1/2" Circle. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Smoky Slate.

As always with my punch art, everything is sponged in the coordinating color of ink.  For the background I cut all the letters, alternating colors, with the Little Letters Framelits.  Before I stuck them down I wanted to add a subtle background on the white.  I made a stencil with the 1 1/2", 1 1/4" and 1" Circle punches then sponged some versa mark over the stencil (moving it as needed).  I embossed each of the circles with some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  There's some subtle sparkle, hard to photograph but so pretty in person.  On all the girls hair I used my Wink of Stella Pen(from Amazon) to add some shine and sparkle.  Again a subtle detail that makes all the difference in person.  When/IF I locate my notes I will update this post with the punches, if needed.  Until then, I guess this post will serve as my notes.
