Sweet Feet

Remember on Saturday I told you I had the cutest little baby gift for my side line? Well now that the shower is over I can finally show it to you. I got this idea from Split Coast Stampers. I love that site! She used adult socks in her example but I thought, why couldn't you do the same thing with little baby socks? So I made a dozen baby sock cakes! Aren't they just the sweetest most adorable baby gift ever!

The hardest part of this project was finding the mini cupcake holder. I wanted to buy or get an empty one. So I figured I'll just ask the bakery at the grocery store, they sell them so they must have empty ones in the back. But when I went to the grocery store to ask for an empty one. The bakery clerk told me that the mini cupcakes aren't baked there, they get delivered in the holders so they didn't have any. Hmmm, so does anything get baked there? Now I'm curious. So I had to get a dozen mini cupcakes. Needless to say Logan was very pleased. He got cupcakes for dessert for a few nights. Once the cakes were gone and the container thoroughly cleaned I was ready to make my sock cakes.

They are pretty easy to make, using small baby socks was a bit of trial and error. But fortunately with socks you can unroll and reroll as many times as you need. Once they're rolled I secured them with a rubber band. I made little cupcake liners with Chocolate Chip cardstock and the new Scallop Trim border punch (SAB).
Here they are ready to go. I used MDS to make the greeting on the front.
I love it!!!
While I was making the sock cakes, Logan was such a good boy and made some cards of his own. I ran the cards through the big shot and Logan did the rest. He colored the bears with his crayons and attached them to the cards all by himself.

This card he made for Lisa at church. Except we forgot to bring it to her, so we'll have to do that this week.
Look at the sweet note he wrote by himself to her (I spelled everything and he wrote it). The picture isn't so great, it doesn't even look like Rich Razzleberry, but hopefully you can read some of it. It says 'Hello Lisa Love Logan'. Here's another one he made. He said he's going to give it to Daddy, but as of now it's still sitting on my desk. But he has a card ready to go when he needs it-which is more than I have :)
