Tutorial Tuesday-Fun with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder

I ended up with 2 posts yesterday so if you didn't see them both, make sure you scroll down and check 'em out!

I'm having way too much fun with the new Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder. I just love it and everything has polka dots now! But I thought I'd show you some of my favorite ways to use it. This card is very simple and you can use it for any occasion, very easy to mass produce too. So let's get started. For this card I'm using Bashful Blue ink, cardstock and satin ribbon, and some Brilliant Blue cardstock and ink. Lets get started!

Of course you'll need your big shot. I'm using the Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, and I'm going to put polka dots on that with our folder. This technique I learned from my upline (I'm pretty positive it was her, I did see it on a blog after she told me, but now it's all running together. But I'm 99% sure it was from Amber). She told me about it after she returned from Leadership. I love this idea and I couldn't wait to do it! Do it the same way you would do cardstock. I did add 2 shims to it. I found you got a better impression that way. If you're ribbon doesn't all fit at once. Do half then take it out, turn it around and do the other half.

Isn't that just awesome! Love it!!

The next technique I'm going to show you is also really cool and fast. I'm using a sponge to add ink to the inside of the folder on the smooth side. You could also use a brayer to do this. My sponge was handy so I used that.
Then you would put your cardstock in and run it through the big shot. And you get this...

Awesome right!?! Now you can take your embossed ribbon and cardstock and attach it to your card.

This is the new level 1 hostess set in the mini catalog, Picture Perfect I believe is the name of it. It's really cute and I can't wait to use it more!

How cool does that look, and it's even more textured in person!
I just love it.
Thanks for looking, see you tomorrow!!
