Tutorial Tuesday--Snowflake Ornament

It's Tutorial Tuesday. It's been a couple weeks since I've done one so let just get started. There are A LOT of steps to this one and I'm going to do my best to show you how it's done. I hope the pictures help.
I'm going to show you how to make the snowflake ornament from yesterday's post. It's super easy. It takes a little time but it's worth it. You can make them as big or as little as you want. For the Tutorial I'm using 2x2 squares. On the one yesterday I used 4x4 squares.
You'll need 5 squares of whatever size you're using. You'll also need scissors a bone folder and glue dot.

Take one of your squares and fold it in half diagonally.

Then fold it in half again.

On your small triangle you'll have one side with one crease and one side with 2 creases. Cut on the side with ONE crease. Cut as many slits as you want. For my 2x2 square I cut four. Make sure you don't cut all the way through the creases at the other end. Leave about a quarter of an inch. The next picture illustrates this better.

Unfold your square. Now we're going to start gluing. I've put an 'x' where you should put your first glue dot. We're going to start on the inside square, curve the pieces around and glue together. See next photo.

Flip it over and take the next square and glue it the same way, it's harder to see the 'x's on this pattern.

Flip it over and glue the next one the same way you did the other 2.

Flip it over again and glue the last one. I hope all that made sense and if not I hope the pictures helped.

Repeat on the other 4 squares until they're all done.

Now we're going to start gluing them together. Use one or more (depending on the size) glue dots to stick them together. There's not really an up or down to them so just pick a side and you'll put the glue dot near the tip and stick it to another one. Since there is no top or bottom you can arrange them however you like. I like to alternate the patterns stripes, flowers, stripes, flowers, etc.

Keep gluing them around....

...Until all five are attached. You can attach some ribbon or tread and it's ready to hang.
How pretty is that!?!!
Thanks for looking see you tomorrow!
