Yesterday I got this beautiful birthday card in the mail from Joanna. She's my sideline who just earned Founders Circle and lives in Arizona. She'll be leaving for Founders Circle in just a couple of days I think. Have a great time Joanna!!! But isn't this card so pretty! When I opened it Logan said, "Mommy who made that card with the beautiful dress?" Isn't he cute!?
I don't have any of the lace yet but I love how Joanna used it on this card so I may have to order some! Thanks Joanna I LOVE IT!!
I have another card to show you today. This card was an experimental card. Normally I don't have the patience to do this and you'll probably never see it again but I wanted to try it. I was cutting a ton of the candy wrapper boxes from the big shot last week, you'll see why in a future post, but it cuts out these little squares to help the box fold together. Normally I don't save little tiny scraps but I thought, they're perfect little squares I'll try that mosaic thing I've seen. So I put them in a bag and saved them and did exactly that. It took a long time, first I started with a loose pattern, I didn't want it to look too planned but I also didn't want it to look like I just dropped the scraps on the paper. So after about 6 of them placed strategically I just started sticking them anywhere. So here's the result....
...what do you think? I coverd the white cardstock with snail and just stuck them on there. When I got them all on, I covered everything with versa mark and embossed it with clear EP. It gives it the shiny mosaic look but the white parts also aren't sticky. I used markers to color the greeting added some ribbon and a button and called it a day!
I'm glad I did a card like this but probably next time I'll have no problem throwing my scraps away. It's just a little too tedious for me. I think the result is very pretty. But I don't think I'll be doing this again, unless it's for the perfect project :)
