Here is what Amber demoed, since I went after here I got to keep it! It's called Water wash technique, so pretty. Amber framed it and I have it hanging on my stamp wall now.

My Swap and 3 minute demo

Our demo meeting was last night. I always enjoy these meetings. I know that I've said it before but I just love our group of demos, I think they are all so talented and bring such good ideas to the meetings.
I did a demonstration last night and here's what I demoed. The card is so pretty. The technique I used was embossing resist. To get this look though, I stamped my image in staz-on on vellum cardstock, then stamped the En Francais background stamp over in versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I water colored the image with markers and my aqua painters. So pretty.

This is the swap I did for the meeting. The theme, was favorite colorbook technique (watercolor crayons, markers, blender pens, etc). I used watercolor crayons for mine and some crystal effects on the frog. I also embossed the card with the big shot.

Scallop Purse

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you a really cute purse I made. I got the idea from Jenny's blog. She has a really great blog, if you get a chance check it out. She made her bag out of our carousel notes. I used the scallop die for the big shot, so my purse is slightly smaller then hers. But just as cute.
I used the SU textured plates to emboss my scallops, then I used a sanding block and sanded the embossed parts. So that's how I got the white to show. I wish you guys could feel the bag. When you sand down the DSP it gives it a velvety texture, very soft and really nice in person. Make sure you check out the snap closure for it. It's 2 of our new corduroy buttons together, doesn't it make just the cutest closure, or accent to any project!?!!?

So what fits inside you ask.....well.........

What else, Ghirardelli Chocolate of course! You can fit 3 of them in there perfectly.

For the box, it's a 7x5 piece of cardstock. Score on the 7 inch side at 3 and 4 and on the 5 inch side score at 1 and 4. Then it's just assembled like any other box.

Sale-a-Bration Stamp a Stack

Second post for the day.

Are you running low on Birthday, Thank You cards or just a card in general? If so you will not want to miss this stamp a stack!
You'll make 20 cards total, 5 each of 4 different designs. This will be a really fun class, you'll get to pick the greeting you want, I"ll have a variety of greetings on the tables and you pick the greeting that you need.

Cost-$20, that's $1 per card with envelopes--Want to save on the registration fee? If you and a friend, who has never been to one of my classes or workshops before, register together you EACH get the class for $12!!! That's only $.60 a card. I will be taking credit cards for registration for this class too. If you prefer to pay with a credit card, I'll send you a paypal invoice and you can pay that way, please let me know when you register.

I have spent the first part of the week in massive spring cleaning. I'm going room by room and moving everything and cleaning everything. But that means I don't get to stamp as much as I normally do. So today's post is a quick card that I kind of did in stages.
I don't have any St. Patrick's Day stamps so I have no fun greetings. So I made the four leaf clover, with the Polka Dot Punches SAB set, and attached it to the card and then left it sitting on my desk for a couple of days until I got around to making a greeting for it. I used my ABC upper and lower alphabet for it.

I think it's pretty cute.

Tutorial Tuesday-Shadows with wheels

Last week I posted this card and got a couple of questions on how I did the shadows on it. So I thought I would show you how to do it too.
It's a really easy technique, all you need to do it is paper, 2 ink pads (or cartridges) and a wheel.

Ink up your wheel with the darker ink and find the seam in your wheel. You'll use the seam to line it up on the paper.

Line your seam up with the edge of the cardstock. I like to pull my wheels so I can see where it's going, not where it's been, I find it easier for me to get straighter lines. If you like to push your wheels then you would still line up your seam but on the opposite end of the cardstock. Hope that makes sense.

Clean your wheel and ink it up again with the lighter color this time.

Line your wheel up again on the cardstock but this time, instead of right on the edge, line it up slightly over to the right. I just eyeball it, you don't want it right on top of your first layer.

Attach to your card or project.

Superman and Puppets

When I was making my tag from this post, Logan kept playing with my chipboard bird. So I got the idea to make him some puppets with the chipboard. Then he can play all he wants and I don't have to worry about my project going off to play or getting lost under something. Now he has his own set.
He is still being camera shy, not sure when this phase will be over, soon we're hoping. So this is the best shot I could get of him with his new toys, in his super cute Superman pj's. His pj's came with a cape you could attach with velcro too. So cute!

Here's a better shot of the birds. Way cute! And so much fun!

Monogram Tag

Yep, how great is that scallop circle punch? I just love it. I used it to make a tag for my bag that I take to workshops, demo meeting, stamp camps, clubs, well anywhere stamping related. It holds everything I need. I used my scallop circle die and cut it out of chipboard and of the DSP, to make it sturdier. I used chipboard for the bird and branch too. Those little bird chipboard are so cute. I just love them. If you love them too, you will not want to miss Mondays post-Oh my goodness!

Baby Shower with Animal Crackers

Well if I haven't said it before, I'll say it now. I love Animal Crackers. No not the cookie, not real fond of those actually. But the stamp set is so cute. One of Dan's co-workers is having a baby-well he's not, his wife is. They're having a baby shower for him today. So I made this card to attach to the gift we got them.
The card came together really quick. I cut all the heads out and attached them with dimensionals. I used my blender pen and ink pads to color the images.

Here's a fun quick tip, whenever I have a gift receipt to attach to a gift I always make a little pocket inside to hold it. Then it doesn't get lost and the person you give it to knows exactly where it is. Nice!

More Birthday Cards and tea

Well it's time for more church birthday cards. Here's what I did this month.
The cupcake is a die for the big shot. Super cute!

For the guys card I used the Funky Forest wheel and rolled it in Handsome Hunter then over it again with grey so that you get a slight shadow effect, very cool in person. The pictures don't capture how cool this technique is.

So I have to share this with you because I had such a yummy afternoon yesterday and I mean that literally. Dan and I went to the St James Tea Room, so good. If you're in the Albuquerque are and haven't been, you must go, it's so good. And if you travel to Albuquerque you should make it one of your stops.

Scallop Circle Cards

Still loving my Scallop Circle die! If you haven't had a chance to use the big shot, you don't know what you're missing, it's one of the coolest tools out there. I would love to come to your home and show you and your friends all the possibilities. Call me today to set up a workshop!
So on to the card for today. I made two, just loved it that much!
The first one I used, the Trendy Trees stamp set. The cards are 2 of the scallop circle dies held together with a brad. You turn the top to get to the inside of the card. So cute! I'm using a corduroy brad for this card. I just love those, they're so fun!

For the second card I used 2 SAB sets,the Congrats set and the Botanical Blooms set. I love how this card came out, so simple and pretty!

Tutorial Tuesday-Bouncing Brayer Technique

Here is a fun technique to do. Depending on the colors you choose you could end up with a very groovy look. This is a great way to make a fun background.
To do the bouncing brayer technique you'll need a spectrum pad. I don't have a spectrum pad so I'm using a few baby wipes on a plastic or paper plate and some classic reinker. My own version of a spectrum pad and better because you can make any color combo you want.
For this card I'm using Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard and So Saffron.

Draw a few lines of each color on your baby wipes. Ink up your brayer in it.

Then you're going to bounce-DO NOT ROLL the brayer, in a circle around your cardstock.




Keep going....

...until you get the desired look you want. Reink your brayer as needed.

I stamped my image in versa mark, then embossed it in black.

Add to your card and your done. Very cool technique!
