July In Person Class Fun With Monochromatic Cards

My July in person class was featuring monochromatic cards.  A monochromatic card is a card that features shades of one color.  With our vast line of colors this was a fun class.  Stampin' Up! has lots of 'color buddies' too.  A color buddy is a light and dark shade of a color that work well for two step stamping or monochromatic cards.  I used lots of color buddies for my class. Measurements and supply lists for each card are reserved for my guests of my class. 

First up color buddies Gray Granite and Basic Gray.  These are classic together and I love how elegant this card looks.  The DSP is from the Otterly Adorable DSP pack-which is on the Last Chance list and discounted!  Grab it before it's gone! My greeting is from the Pattern of Friendship stamp set.

When Lemon Lolly joined the color line up I knew it would be an instant color buddy with Daffodil Delight.  I love this card especially the greeting white heat embossed on Basic Black cardstock.  It really pops off that lovely yellow background.  I used the Choose Happy Set for the flowers and the greeting is from the Beautiful Butterflies Set.

The Perfect Pears Bundle is a great bundle to feature in a monochromatic card.  Soft Seafoam and Garden Green make excellent color buddies.  I used two DSP packs on this card the Wildflower Birthday package and the Lovely Garden package.  Don't be afraid to mix and match your DSP's especially when looking for beautiful color buddy patterns. 

We have so many gorgeous shades of purples that I knew they would make for a beautiful ombre card.  We used Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath.  The greeting is from the Pattern of Friendship stamp set.

Finally, the last card uses some of my favorite color buddies, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana!  LOVE these two colors.  I used the Paper Tags Bundle and the Hearts of Elegance Dies.  The Hearts of Elegance Dies are on the Last Chance List and discounted!  They're amazing dies!  This tri-fold card also features our Two-Tone Cardstock which is another great option for making monochromatic cards.  You get a light and a dark shade of a color in one sheet of cardstock!  Perfection!
