Inspired White Washed Pears

I love today's card! It's a different style than I normally do so it was fun to step outside my comfort zone.  I did some water coloring on the pear today.  It was so much fun.  Water coloring is not my go to for coloring options but when I saw this white was technique I had to try it.  Erica Cerwin shared this beautiful card with the white wash technique, I was so inspired to try it. First you stamp your image in a water resistant ink, I used Staz On Black, on a colored cardstock, I used Crumb Cake.  Then you use our White Craft Ink refill and watercolor that on your image.  You're making a white base to watercolor on so your colors stay vibrant on the Crumb Cake (or whatever color your using).  Let the craft ink completely dry, you can speed it up with a heat tool. I left mine to dry overnight, not intentionally but I had to do kid pick up and then got distracted with other things.  Drying overnight worked well though.

Once dry you can watercolor over your image with our classic inks.  You can use refills for bolder colors or the ink pads.  For the pear I used a combination of Darling Duckling and Calypso Coral.  For the leaves I used Granny Apple Green and Garden Green with a little Early Espresso for the stem.  Once those were dry I die cut them and completed my card.  It's a really fun technique, If you haven't tried it yet I encourage to try it.  I have a full supply list linked below, you can shop for these products in my Online Store.
