Wishing You Joy Pencil and Hershey Nugget Gift Box-VIDEO

Long ago a younger version of me new to stamping learned that Hershey Nuggets were made for crafting.  They're the perfect size for a box, they're a yummy treat, and you can use DSP or 1" x 3" address labels to wrap them.  I was smitten and made many projects featuring Hershey Nuggets.  Fast forward a few years to today where I custom make boxes for nearly anything.  It occurred to me one day that it had been years since I made a Hershey Nugget box-WHY? So off I trotted to the store to pick some up. On the way home I stopped at a large craft store and found a package of 24 Christmas pencils for only $5-how could I possibly pass that up.  Then on the drive home I brainstormed how to combine the beloved Hershey Nuggets with these super cute pencils......this box was born.  It's adorable.  It's a fun (and affordable!) treat.  Plus you can modify this box year round.  Got some Halloween pencils and DSP-yes! What about Valentine's-you got it! Hershey Nuggets and fun pencils are sold year round.  Save this box in your repertoire and come back to it when you need it.

Today we're making a Christmas one.  I'm using the Wishing You Joy Stamp Set and the Branching Out Dies.  Let's talk a little about the Branching Out Dies.  I bought the dies-like many of you I'm sure because the labels in that die set are perfection.  However I am challenging myself to use the extra dies to get the most from that die set.  The pinecone and branch-ADORABLE!  Why did I ever doubt them!?!  They're the perfect mini accent to my box.

The box has a tab that holds the pencil. The box itself holds three Hershey Nuggets.  I'm using the Peaceful Garden DSP because it was a nice neutral-ish color pallet that coordinated with most of the pencils.  To make the holes for my pencil I used a 1/2" circle punch, if you don't have one look through your punches or dies, you might have something that will work. I did use a glue dot on the top of my pencil to hold it in place.  A smaller circle punch, maybe 3/8", might eliminate the glue dot.

As I mentioned above you can wrap the chocolates in DSP-1" x 3" works perfectly.  If you don't want to use DSP you can stamp a sheet of 1" x 3" address labels (there's 30 per sheet on that!) and make custom wrappers, I've done that as well in the past. It's super easy, super fast, super cute!
