Sale-a-Bration Celebration! Awesome Otters Blending Brushes Galaxy Card-VIDEO

Today's card for my Sale-a-Bration Celebration features the absolutely adorable Awesome Otters Set!  This otter set is sooooo cute!!  I've shared another card that I've made with this set already, I'm sure there will be more to come.  You can check out that card here.  Tomorrow I have one more otter card to share too.  Today's card is completely different, we're going out of this world!  Stampin' Up! shared a card similar to this in one of their YouTube videos as well as on Instagram and Facebook.  As soon as I saw a little astronaut otter I was hooked!  I HAD to make that card!  In addition to the Awesome Otter Set I added a couple more sets to this card to complete it.  The moon is from the To The Moon Set in the Annual Catalog.  The greeting is from the Stellar Birthday Set also in the Annual Catalog.

For my background I used Blending Brushes and four inks-Polished Pink, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy.  Be careful not to over blend the colors or you'll end up with a brown muddy galaxy.  In addition to blending those inks on I used a water painter and splattered White Ink and Wink of Stella onto my background.  When you're splattering with ink make sure you protect your work surface and have some paper towels or baby wipes handy to clean up any messes.

For my otter, he's colored with Stampin' Blends, colors listed in the supply list.  I added a space helmet to him made with a die cut Windo Sheet.  I finished my card with some Sparkle and Shine Sequins and some die cut stars from the Give It A Whirl Dies.  Check out the video for all the details and tips on this card.  I have a full supply list below you can purchase these items in my Online Store.

Grassy Grove Congrats Card

One of the most interesting and unique bundles in the mini catalog is the new Grassy Grove Bundle.  This bundle creates beautiful scenes with it's detailed dies and coordinating set.  I love how this set works so seamlessly with the dies.  For my card today I used this bundle to create an anniversary card for my parents.  I used Night of Navy and Balmy Blue and some Blending Brushes to create a beautiful background.

stampin up, grassy grove

I stamped part of the background and used the border die in the bundle to die cut it.  I used the dies to create the gorgeous forest background.  For the deer I die cut two of them and just turned one around on the card.  I fussy cut around my greeting from the Happy and Heartfelt Set.  I have a full supply list below.  You can shop for these products in my Online Store.

Hedgehog Tapered Treat Box-VIDEO

Today's project is so cute!  You'll want to make these for everyone you know!  Sometimes when I'm trying to figure out a new box or project I look back on what I've made in the past and figure out how or what can I modify?  Is it just the measurements? Should I change up the design a little?  That's how I came up with this box.  Last year I shared two boxes with tapered ends or tops, I used elements of both of them and modified them to this box, which is pretty darn cute!  I used the tapered ends from this cute penguin box and the tapered closure from this cute Halloween box.  Both are adorable as they stand but when you combine aspects of them both you can another adorable option!

stampin' up, happy hedgehog, daffodil afternoon

Of course measurements were also adjusted but we'll get to the measurements in a minute.  I used the new Happy Hedgehog Bundle for my box.  This is a punch bundle which I LOVE but that little hedgehog is just the cutest, even if he didn't have a punch.  The punch is great because it not only punches out the entire hedgehog but it also punched out just his quills......are they quills on a hedgehog?  We're calling them quills.

stampin' up, happy hedgehog, daffodil afternoon

Because you can punch them separately it gives you another opportunity to be creative and add even more dimension.  I added my quills on him with some Dimensionals so they really pop!  My DSP is the new Daffodil Afternoon package.  This DSP you can only earn free with a qualifying Sale-a-Bration order.  I love the softer simple patterns on the back of the paper.  This fun plaid and the heart patterns are my favorite!

stampin' up, happy hedgehog, daffodil afternoon

Inside my box I have a Snickers Heart.  I found these at my local Walgreens.  They sell these individually there.  I love that I can just pick up one or two.  Let's face it I know I don't need a full bag of candy lying around.  Sometimes it's nice to just be able to pick up one or two treats as you need them. On this box either side can be opened so it's easy to get this treat out.

Here's the measurements for the box.  Make sure to check out the video for all the details.

On the long side score at 1/2" and 1 1/2" on each side

DSP pieces

Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Kick Off Class

Over the weekend I held my Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Kick Off Class.  These are the cards my guests got to make at my class.  I don't have a supply list listed as these were cards showcased in my class.  If you're local in the Albuquerque, NM area I'd love to welcome you to a class.  Contact me for details on my next in person class in February.

The first card uses the Artfully Layered Bundle.  This fun bundle gives all those summer tropical vibes we all love!  I love the soft colors and detailed images on this card!

Next up we're using the new Friendly Hello Sale-a-Bration Bundle.  This bundle of the Friendly Hello Set and DSP can be earned FREE with a $100 order in my Online Store.  I love the fun tag and those Fresh Freesia flowers really pop.  The flowers were punched with the Strawberry Punch in the Annual Catalog.

The Hello Ladybug Bundle in the Mini might be my second favorite punch bundle.  I paired it with the Sweet Talk DSP for a fun and playful card!  I love these colors!

If the Hello Ladybug Bundle is my second favorite punch bundle then the Cactus Cuties is by far my favorite!  I had to use this bundle in my class.  I love the images, the greetings, this bundle is on point!  Pun intended LOL.

Finally the last card of the class.  We used the Rainbow of Happiness Set and coordinating Sale-a-Braiton DSP Sunshine and Rainbows to make a fun pocket card.  I've made tons of pocket cards in the past.  This one is fun with the fold down flap and the ribbon keeping it all together.

I've gone through an entire package of this amazing DSP already!  Don't let Sale-a-Bration go by without picking it up!

Today we're kicking things off with my favorite Sale-a-Bration product!  The Sunshine and Rainbows DSP! Seriously I can't even tell you how many packs of this DSP I've already gone through! We're using my favorite print from the DSP too!  I love the rainbows and other images popping off of the Misty Moonlight background. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!  Today's box is an amazing box.  It's one of those boxes that you'll just keep opening and closing because it's so amazing!

I want to first give a huge shoutout and thanks to Julie Dimatteo for the inspiration for this project.  She shared a box like this back in August and I have had it on my must make list since then.  I modified the measurements to suit my treat but this box was totally inspired by hers.  Thanks Julie!

stampin' up, sunshine and rainbows dsp, rainbow of happiness

When the box opens the treat is magically, and I do mean magically lifted up!  It's the most incredible box!  This box holds a Reese's Valentine Heart.  It's a small treat but the box is so incredible that your friends and family will be so impressed with you.  I know it looks crazy intimidating, I'm going to break it down for you step by step and you'll be surprised how easy it is to put together.

stampin up, sunshine and rainbows dsp, rainbow of happiness

My box is held closed with a small button magnet.  You can find these on Amazon or online at Total Element.  I love these little magnets they're small, thin and strong! If you have small children or pets around and you want a safer option velcro would also work great.

stampin up, sunshine and rainbows dsp

The box is made from two pieces, the actual box.  Then you'll make a shelf for the treat.  Then you'll adhere the two together.  It looks like one fancy piece but we've made two separate pieces.  I have a diagram below, make sure to check out the video for all the details.  The box is simple you'll assemble it as you would nearly any box.  I used my trimmer to cut off the big portions at the top that I didn't need.  The second piece you'll want to trim as the diagram shows, score on the black lines and trim on the red lines.

Brilliant Rainbows

Did you check out this card from yesterday?  Today I'm sharing what to do with all those left over pieces after you die cut colors for your rainbow!  I love it!  I used all the leftover pieces to make three new rainbows.  They're all unique and beautiful!  I added them to a piece of DSP from the Sunshine and Rainbows Sale-a-Bration pack.  I also cut a rainbow border edge using the same DSP.  The largest striped rainbow pattern will fit the border die perfectly!!!

stampin up, sunshine and rainbows dsp, brilliant rainbow dies

To add some extra texture to my rainbows I splattered the cardstocks with some Stampin' Blends.  I used Magenta Madness Blends on the Magenta Madness bows, Bermuda Bay Blends on the Bermuda Bay bow and Pumpkin Pie on the Mango Melody ones.  We don't sell Mango Melody Stampin' Blends.  We used to but they retired, if you still have some I'd go with those to splatter your Mango Melody pieces.  I love the added texture it gives.  I left the gold ones alone because they're already golden and beautiful!  My greeting is from the Artfully Layered set.  I finished my card with some Playing With Patterns Dots and Simply Elegant Trim.  I have a full supply list below.  You can shop for these products in my Online Store.

Brilliant Rainbows Make Me Happy

One of my favorite bundles in the new catalog has to be the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle.  This bundle is so fun and playful!  The coordinating Sunshine and Rainbows DSP in the Sale-a-Bration Catalog is the perfect compliment to this bundle.  I love the fun and bright colors in the DSP and the amazing greetings in the bundle.  Then there's the amazing dies!  This card features all of it!  .

stampin up, rainbow of happiness bundle, sunshine and rainbows dsp

I used the stamp set and white heat embossed a greeting, I used a strip from the DSP to emboss it on. I love the polka dot pattern in the DSP.  I used one of the dies to make a gorgeous gold rainbow border.  The clouds are die cut with the new Mother of Pearl Paper.  I just love this paper for gorgeous accent pieces!  I added some Artistry Blooms Sequins to finish the card.

stampin up, rainbow of happiness bundle, sunshine and rainbows dsp

I die cut my rainbow from Magenta Madness, Gold Foil, Mango Melody and Bermuda Bay.  I pieced all the bows together to make my gorgeous rainbow!  As you can image, I had lots of supplies left from die cutting all those colors.  Check back tomorrow where I'll share a card where I used all my extra rainbow pieces.  I have a full supply list below.  You can shop for these products in my Online Store.
