Oh Christmas Tree...

I'm caught up in a whirl wind of projects this week.  In the midst of prepping for my birthday card class this Saturday---which will be AWESOME, I'm making cards and planning for my October class.  My October class is my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack.  It's 20 cards for $20, you'll make 5 each of 4 designs.  There's still time to sign up please let me know if you're interested.  But this by far is the biggest class that I have to prep for.  Card designs usually take about a week, then after the supplies come in.  Cutting and prepping is usually a 3 week job.  Last year I had 22 people come---that's 440 cards to prep if you're doing the math.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this class.  I think it's one of my customers favorites and it's defiantly my favorite to do.  I'm normally ready to go by August with it.  So this year I'm freakin' out, I'm sooooo behind.  But I have my cards narrowed down and it's going to be GREAT this year.....perhaps the best yet!!!!  This card is one that didn't make the cut :(
It's super cute and I love it, but I love the others more!  I used all the new In Colors on this card and the Pennant punch to make the tree.  It's simple, fun and so cute!!!  If you're interested in attending my Christmas Card stamp a stack I'd love to have you come, leave me a comment or email me!  Make sure to stop by tomorrow it's our blog hop!!!

What A Week

Just when I thought I was finally getting ahead of things, I realize I'm so far behind.  I think I really need to work on my organization skills :)  Yesterday I finally moved Logan's stuff back to his room, I have my living room back!  We finished hanging his pictures and posters around the room, we put the books (two bookcases full) back and did some final organizing...it's done!  Meanwhile, I'm working like a busy bee on my class this weekend, on my Christmas card stamp a stack in October (that class takes at least 3 full weeks of prep-I so far behind on that!).  So I'm doing a WHOLE lot of stamping, I just can't share it yet :)  I'm super excited for my class this weekend, the projects are great and I have BIG plans.  All will be shared next week.  Here's a sneak peek at one of my plans......more to come next week on these!  Who knew the middle of September would be sooooo crazy busy!

Makin' Time

I wasn't sure I'd have any time to stamp yesterday, but as it turned out I did!  I finished painting Logan's room as soon as I got back from dropping him off at school.  I turned on some cartoons for Megan I knew it would go much faster if she didn't help :)  I was able to finish much quicker than I thought I only took me one Curious George episode (that's how I tell time now).  I couldn't move anything back until the paint was dry so I needed something to do.  Megan and I stamped.....well I stamped she did a variety of things :)  I had been deprived of stamping for what was now 72 hours.  I needed to do something.  Here's what I came up with.  Of course I had to make an envelope to go with it.  I LOVE THE ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD!!!!!
The card is super cute too!!  I just love it.  I've seen variations of this card all over Pintrest and the blog land.  So I did my own.  I love the gold embossed in the background.  It adds just enough shimmer to the card, but isn't overwhelming.  I did have to use some retired ribbon on this card.  Nothing else looked quite right.
My favorite part of the card though is the Elegant Eggplant butterflies.  They have silver shimmer paper in the center and black rhinestones on top of that.  Where did the black rhinestones come from??  We sell them of course!  I took a black permanent marker and colored a rhinestone creating a black rhinestone.  A-MA-ZING!!!  Finally it was my birthday last week so I'm holding a mystery hostess workshop. Weekend Wrap Up

What a weekend it was!  It started Friday with me moving everything, EVERYTHING out of Logan's room.  Logan's room underwent a minor renovation this weekend.  What I assumed would be a 1 day project ended up being a 2+ day project.  I still have to finish tomorrow.  Logan's ceiling has some damage due to a water leak so we needed to repair that, we figured as long as we're fixing the ceiling we might as well paint the room, we've talked about it so long.  We asked Logan what colors he would want his room painted.  He wanted Broncos colors-blue and orange.

The colors are close to broncos colors, he's happy so we're good!  Today I have to do a second coat of the orange along the trim then we're done.  Then I get to move everything, EVERYTHING back into his room.
So where did everything go, into my living room.........see why I'm eager to get his room put back together.  Please don't linger on this photo, it's hideous!  However it's our life right now.....at least until later today.....tomorrow at the latest!!!  Logan has a LOT of stuff-we'll be getting rid of some of this, it's not going back into the nice new room :)
So where did Logan go during this whole thing?  Well Saturday night he camped out in Megan's room.  We learned very quickly this would be a one night event.  Sunday night he'd have to go back to his room.  Megan was so thrilled to have Logan for a roommate.  While HE feel asleep quickly, Megan proceeded to play, talk, read all around him until she finally feel asleep too.....on his mattress....on the floor.  There they both slept.
Logan is an early riser, he gets up to read 6ish every morning.  Megan got up when Logan got up, but since she didn't have nearly the amount of sleep Logan had, staying awake at 6am proved to be too much for a little girl who wants so much to be like he big brother.  She fell asleep standing next to the couch, while Logan read next to her.  So that was my weekend, no stamp time, no MDS time.  This is the story you get :)  I'm hoping to have something tomorrow, if I don't though, I know you'll understand :)

Pooh And Tigger Too

Quick post today.  I haven't been home in 2 days.  I've been busy working at my church and running around.  But today is going to be a quiet (I hope) day.  After I drop the kids off at school I'm heading to the St. James Tea Room for some tea with friends.  Can't wait!!!!  For today I have a quick MDS page to show you.  This is another page from our Disney album (in case it's not obvious).  There's no huge, mind blowing technique on this page.  I did use the free form tool on the 'woo-hoo'.  I matched the colors to Pooh and Tigger so it all coordinates :)  That's it from me!  Finally it's my birthday on Thursday so I'm holding a mystery hostess workshop. This Card

I don't often sit down and take an hour to create one card.  This card I did.  This card, between mistakes, things I didn't like, things I did like, folds, colors, stamps, accessories and more took about an hour to complete.  It was kind of like a card in progress.  I wasn't able to work on it for an hour consecutively it was more like 15 minutes here, 10 minutes there.  But I'm so pleased with it.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors!!!  I used Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.  No one is more surprised than me that I love this color combo.  I don't believe that I ever ever ever used Crushed Curry when it was an in color and when I heard it was coming back, I was less than happy, but now we're friends....good friends!
I used the circle flip card for this card, but made the card the entire 8 1/2 length.  Instead of folding the flap under the die cut circle I folded the flap over the front of the card.  This gave me 3 creating spaces, instead of two.  Bonus!!!!  I don't know what it is with the flip cards but for some reason it just screams 'USE THE GLITTER PAPER!!!!'  Maybe it's because when you move the glitter paper it sparkles and shimmers and you can't help but to move these cards so go ahead use that glitter paper!!!!
When you open the flap, you're met with what you know to be the flip card. There's my second crafting space!  Yep I added some more glimmer paper on the inside.  I had to decorate that flap, it's there why not?!  Yes I pulled out my Gorgeous Grunge set again.  You MUST get this set!!!  I used the chevron framlit that came with the circle card framelit to add some extra detail!
As if the glimmer paper wasn't enough sparkle I added a rhinestone :)  You can never have too much sparkle and shine!!!!  This one is pretty simple just a greeting and a little flower.  Do you love this card yet?!!
Finally we made it to the inside of the card.  Don't look now but there's more glitter paper!!!  There's plenty of writing space on this card.  This card is so much fun to open and close and open and close and well you get the point :)

Swappin' Christmas

Tonight is our shoebox swap!  These are always the best swaps!  It's just a night of stamping and chatting.  Out theme this month is Christmas.  I know I've been overloading you with these flip cards but they're so so soooo much fun!!!  I'm working on some other stuff, so you'll see that soon  :)  But back to this card.  I used the Winter Frost DSP from the Holiday Catalog.  The star is from the Merry Mini's punch pack. You won't find it in the catalog but it's one of the Holiday carry overs from last year.
Here's the card open.  I love this color combo and the DSP. So pretty!!!  It's my birthday on Thursday so I'm holding a mystery hostess workshop. Embossed Leaves

Before we get to today's project I have a couple of things to share.  First, you may have heard that Stampin' Up!'s Co Founder and CEO Shelli Gardner was in a horse back riding accident last week.  She was diagnosed with a fractured wrist, pelvis, and collarbone.  She's in the hospital where they say she'll be for a while.  You can read about it here, her husband Sterling tells the story.  Thankfully it sounds like she'll be ok.  I know as a demonstrator, Stampin' Up! has been such a huge part of my life for 10 years.  The company she helped create 25 years ago is a company that I love!!!  Another bit of news.  The new envelope punch board is available, while I don't have mine in my hands YET (I will tomorrow!) I have used it and IT'S A-MA-ZING!!!!!  This is a tool you NEED!!!!  You can order it today!!!!  Finally it's my birthday on Thursday so I'm holding a mystery hostess workshop.  Shop online at my website and use this code 4SXYVKN2 at checkout and be entered into winning the hostess benefits!  Yay!!!!  You only have until Friday September 13th to place your order!!!  One winner will be chosen and win the hostess benefits!!!  Plus I'll make the deal even better.  Orders of $50 or more will get a package of rhinestones!  Orders of $75 or more will get a package of rhinestones and pearls!!!  Hurry shop today, and don't forget your envelope punch board!!!
Finally onto today's project.  There's really not much to say.  It's a cute card and if you love embossing this is the card for you!!!!  I stamped the leaf in versamark and embossed it with white embossing power.  Then I used the splatter from the Gorgeous Grunge set and embossed it in Tangerine Tango.   The white and tangerine tango really 'pop' on the night of navy cardstock.  This was a card I saw on pintrest and made immediately.  I loved it!!!  Here's the original card I saw.   That's it for me.  Don't forget to participate in my Mystery Hostess Birthday Workshop!!

First Time This Week

For the first time this week I'm sharing a card that I stamped from my own supplies, from my own design, and it's Friday!  However I don't think you're too upset.  There's been TONS of inspiration coming out of my blog this week thanks to my talented stamping friends!  I love this card though.  After using the black and white DSP at Amber's and at Carmelita's I fell in love with it and decided to break it out and use it!  Overall this card is pretty simple, but there's lots of layers and coloring that make it look complicated :)
For the flower I stamped it twice and then colored it using my blender pens and Tangerine Tango ink.  I layered them on top of each other with dimensionals.  I used my circles framelits to create the circles in multiple layers.  The doily is so fun in the background and provides the perfect layering for the circles.  That's it for me!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Anyone Can Do It

I let Logan play with my new framelits to make some thank you cards for the birthday gifts he received.  He did a great job!!!  I helped him cut DSP, cardstock and do the punching.  But he did the rest.  He stamped everything by himself, did the big shot by himself and glued everything down on his own.  He used the stamp from the Paper Pumpkin this month. That little bike will get used alot!
I let Logan run loose with my retired cardstock and DSP.  That's pretty much why I keep it :)  He made a whole stack of these cards in about 45 minutes.  I was surprised he sat there and kept at it that long.  But he was in 'the zone'!

Flippin' For The Flip Cards!

This is another long post, grab some coffee and come back!!  Sunday I attended my sideline, Carmelita's class using the new framelit flip cards.  I really wanted to learn more about them.  There were unveiled at convention, which I couldn't attend, so I really wanted to learn more about them.  I loved the cards we made and I left with some pretty fun ideas that you'll see in the future :)  First up is this fun Christmas card.
We cut the card down, so that when it's closed it's a 4 1/4 square.  It's such a fun size!! We embossed only the back, which adds so much texture.  Carmelita even suggested putting a picture on the back side of the circle.  A great idea for a Christmas card!
The next card I just LOVE!  Carmelita called it her 'Hawaiian Card', it's very fitting based on the colors and flowers this card has!  The label on this card is held closed with that sweet flower.
When you pull the card open though, it opens fuller to make almost a full card, lots of room to write you message!  So so so cute!!!
Then we made this envelope.  Carmelita had a beautiful flower with fringe in the center, it was very pretty, my fringe didn't work so well, even when I came home and played with it more it simple wouldn't come together.  So instead I 'modified' my flower slightly.  I tied a couple knots in the ribbon then stuck it down.  It's a little different but super cute!  I love the ruffled ribbon on this envelope too!!!
Inside the envelope we made some cute, quick cards using the elements that come with the framelits.  They were so quick to make and so cute!!!  These would be perfect to stick in a lunch box!
Finally, I think my favorite card.  Because it's pink and black and has glitter!  I love the black and white polka dots, I love the thx. Mostly though I love the DSP is one sheet.
When you open it the DSP continues throughout the entire card, not just on the panels.  I love that!!!  The stars and arrows are so cute on this card!!!  Thanks Carmelita for letting me come to your class, I really had a great time!!!!

Lovely Ladybugs!

I'm pretty sure I have the best upline a demonstrator could have.  I signed up under Amber 10 years ago and she's never failed to amaze me with her creativity and generosity.  Twice a year she hosts a 'Lovely Ladybug Day' for members of her downline that have met certain requirements based on sales, recruiting and promoting.  On Saturday I was so pleased to be able to attend her Ladybug Day!!!  We started with an amazing lunch!!!  Everything was delicious!!!  There was freshly squeezed lemonade, strawberry orange salad with candied pecans, lemon chicken salad sandwiches, deviled eggs and then the desserts!

There were lemon bars made by her husband, and berries and cream!  Yes everything was as good as it looks!  The table was decorated with a sunflowers from her garden.  There was detail to everything!  Our cups (mason jars what a cute idea!) had washi tape to decorate it.  Our placemats were actually 12x12 cardstock, we tried so hard not to spill anything!
There was a stamped and framed ladybug that we got to take home.  The stamp was hand carved by Amber using the new Undefined kit!!  So cute!!!!  We had little bags that had a brand new package of washi tape in in for us to use on our make and takes then bring home.
The silverware was even decorated.  She use the new bow die and hand carved a lemon stamp to coordinate with everything!  Lunch was great, we chatted and enjoyed ourselves, then it was time to stamp!  Make and take time!!!
The make and takes were fantastic! It's so much fun just to stamp!  We got to use new products and make some amazing projects.  First is this journal.  I'm always jotting things down.  Journals are so handy!  Amber got these journals at Michael's I believe.  We simply decorated them with some ribbon and a tag.  So simple but so cute!!!
I love this card.  We made shaker cards.  All the butterflies and confetti shake around in the background of the card.  Isn't that adorable!!??!  We also made the envelope using the new Envelope Punch Board.  It's incredible!!!!  I can't wait to get mine!!!  It will be available to everyone on September 1.  But if you're a demonstrator you can get it NOW!  I loved it, you can make envelopes of any size!!!
Our last two make and takes were fantastic.  I love the black and coastal cabana colors paired together.  Plus we embossed in gold and it just makes such an elegant project.  We made the little pouch then bookmark.
Here's all that I brought home, it was a lot!!! Here's all my gifts from lunch.  Don't you just love it all!!  I love the yellow bow and her carved stamps are incredible!!!  The gift bag and washi tape-above and beyond!
Here's everything along with my make and takes.  Amber did such an incredible job planning this day.  I truly felt special.  I can't wait until the next one!!!  Thanks so much Amber for such an amazing day!
