Here's what's going on....

Well I'm sure your all wondering. So here it is....I'm pregnant!

While we're very excited it hasn't been an easy road so far. I've been horribly sick with morning sickness. I'm about 9 weeks-almost 10 weeks along. My first Dr appointment was spent getting 3 bags of IV fluids pumped into me because I was so dehydrated from throwing up so much. I was prescribed a few medications that didn't help at all and sent me to the ER 3 days later where I got another 2 bags of IV fluids. Then 2 weeks later at my Dr appointment I was again pumped with another 3 bags IV fluids this time in my hand-ouch!!! I have the ugly bruise to prove it. So now I'm on 3 different meds. They seem to be helping a little, I'm at least keeping some food and drink down now opposed to absouletly nothing! I still feel miserable. I can't sit or stand for long periods of time. So my day is spent either laying on the couch or laying in bed. It's been pretty miserable and horrible and we're hoping it doesn't last much longer. I'm almost to the end of the first trimester so we're praying that will be the end of this stage too.

I'd love to hear suggestions if you've ever been this sick during a pregnancy. I'm really looking for things I can eat and drink and keep down. Right now I'm living on gatorade and granola bars. It's pretty much all that stays down. We know about the pump, but unfortunatly our insurance doesn't cover it 100% and the cost per day is not something we can afford to do. I'll see my Dr again next week, hopefully I'll be improving and won't need any more IV's I think we can stop at 8 bags....

Thanks for hanging in there with me, I'm really hoping to be back to stamping soon, you have no idea how much I miss it!!

Hope you are feeling better soon and good luck. In the end it will be all worth it. No tips, except I bet we would all love to hear about your stories and what is going on even if you cannot post pictures. Also it might give you something to do while lying in bed. Take care.

Congratulations!
So sorry your morning sickness is so intense. I went through that when I had my son. I remember those bruises from the IVs. bleh I ate a lot of watermelon while I was pregnant. I also drank a form of pedialyte that my DR reccomended. Take care and I hope this passes soon for you.

Hi Ruth, I was wondering if maybe you were pregnant. Congrats! So sorry about the morning sickness. I've heard mint gum might help. Good luck! I miss your posts, but don't worry about them. You need to take care of yourself and the baby that's growing inside you.

Congrats! I was very sick with morning sickness with my son.

Whatever you can hold down, stick with it until well.. you cant no more. For awhile it was yoohoo (and only in the packs) and string cheese.

As far as for nausea, peppermints! They are a god send.

I found snacking a little bit during the day helped so much.

Hope you feel better, and keep us posted.
