Simply Six Class

Over the weekend I was able to host an in person class.  I hope this is the beginning of more in person classes!  I have sooooo missed my amazing friends and catching up with everyone at the class was so amazing!  The class was Simply Six-Six Simply Amazing Cards!  I love them!  Here's the cards my guests got to make.  If you're in the Albuquerque area I'd love to see you at an in person class too!  Email me for details on my next class stamperrdn@q.com

Hey Birthday Chick Card.  We used Stampin' Blends to color our cute chicken and the DSP is from the Floral Art DSP.  Love this adorable card!  

We used the Art Gallery Bundle for this stunning card!  The colors and images are perfect!  I love that pop of metallic from the Golden Garden Acetate from the suite.  So elegant!  

I pulled out the Dragonfly Garden Bundle for this card.  We used the coordinating Dandy Garden DSP too.  The dragonfly is colored with blends leaving an gorgeous dragonfly.  

Of course I had to include a card featuring the beautiful Butterfly Brilliance Bundle.  This bundle is so unique and makes stunning cards!  This card is no exception.  I love the Mint Macaron and Flirty Flamingo together!  We pulled in a greeting from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle.

My favorite product in the Mini Catalog is the Flowering Cactus Product Medley.  I love everything made with this product medley.  I had to share it with my guests.  This card is no exception!  

Finally, this card features the You're Amazing set. I love this color combo-Coastal Cabana, Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose.  The frame is from the Love You Always Foil Sheets, die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I think the metallic frame really makes this card POP!

Slide and Lock Box-VIDEO

Do I have the cutest box to share with you today!!!!  This is a box where you'll definitely want to check out the video to learn the how to on this box.  But I promise it's easy and won't disappoint!  I'm calling it a Slide and Lock Box.  The tag on the front slides back and forth locking and unlocking the box lid.  It's pretty amazing!  I used the Hippo Happiness Bundle to make an adorable Easter Treat box.  I also brought in the beautiful Hydrangea Hill DSP.

This box was inspired by German Demonstrator Nadine Weiner.  I saw her project on Pintrest and I had to create my version.  You can check out Nadine's project here.  The top has two flaps and a sliding element, one of the flaps is shorter than the other and when the slider is out of the shorter flap the box will open.

Once the top flaps are open there is an additional flap to keep your treats safe and sound.  This box looks super complicated, but I promise it's easier than you think.  Check out my video for all the details.

To make the box, you'll need a piece of cardstock that is 8" x 7".  
On the short side score at 1 1/4" from each side.  
On the long side score at 1 1/4", 3 3/4", 5", 7 1/2"
For the longer part of the lid you'll need a piece of cardstock and DSP that is cut to 2 1/2" x 5 3/4" score the long side at 1 1/8"
For the shorter part of the lid you'll need a piece of cardstock and DSP that is cut to 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" score the long side at 1 1/8"

This box is sized perfectly for a Hershey's Marshmallow Egg.  These are everywhere right now. Check your local grocery store.  But the box will hold all kinds of treats if you can't find these.  Check out the video for all the details on this card.  I have a full supply list below, you can shop for all of these products in my Online Store.

Team Color Challenge 1 with Forever Fern

This month I'm playing a color challenge with my team.  You're welcome to play along too!  I'm sharing fun color inspirations with them and asking them to create a project with it.  I'm playing too, because who doesn't love a color challenge!  The first one is full of bold and bright colors!  This one I was a little hesitant on because when I had all the pieces out on my desk it didn't look like it would come together.  I'm so happy to say it did come together and came together so beautifully!  
 

I used my Forever Fern Bundle for this card, from the Annual Catalog.  I also brought in some DSP form the In Good Taste package and did LOTS of layering with dies from both the Stitched Rectangles and Hippo and Friends Dies.  I love the gold frame made with the rectangle dies.  I also love the natural textures from the In Good Taste DSP and the Linen Thread.

Hot Dog Birthday

If you love dogs, if you love coloring, if you love coloring cute dogs you need to add the Hot Dog Set to you wishlist.  This set is so cute!  It comes with so many images you can customize the dog to your preferences!  This adorable card was made for my daughters friend.  She celebrated her birthday last month and this was the card we gave her.  My daughter and her friend love dogs and spend a great deal of everyday talking about dogs.  I knew this card would be a hit.  I kept the layers simple but wanted to add an additional frame around the card so I used the paw print stamp image and made a simple frame.  This might be my favorite part of the card!

I colored my dog in Stampin' Blends keeping a soft color palette.  To make the dog pop I used my Pool Party Light to go around the outside of the image.  It's hard to see in the pictures but in real life the dimension that that simple step adds is amazing!  The greeting is heat embossed in white on Cinnamon Cider Cardstock.  To finish off the greeting layer I added a bone from the Pets Trinkets and some matching Magenta Madness Twine.  This twine was in my stash from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  Just another reason to subscribe, all the left over embellishments you can use on other projects! Wildly Happy Bunny Slider-VIDEO

I have a super cute treat to share with you today!  Last week I stocked up on lots of different Easter chocolates and I'll have lots to share over the next few weeks.  This one was one of my first ideas and even before I left the store I was thinking of ways to make this.  Inside is Hershey's cookies and cream chocolate bunny.  I got mine at Walmart but I bet they have these everywhere.  I knew I wanted a slider for this bunny but I wanted the slider to be super special, not just your typical slider.

This box is lined with a super cute slider sleeve and in that sleeve is the chocolate bunny.  I love it!  I think it's different and fun and super cute!!  I pulled in three sets from the Annul Catalog for this one.  I'm using Wildly Happy for the bunnies, Arrange a Wreath for the eggs and Timeless Tulips for the greeting.  The Arrange a Wreath set also has an Easter greeting so you could use that one too.

The outside box part of this slider is Seaside Spray, if you love this color stock up on it now, it will be leaving us soon! Blending Roses

I have a gorgeous card to share today!  I'm using the Brushed Blooms Bundle for this card.  I love the dies and how you can layer up a realistic looking rose.  I started with layering up some color cardstock, but the colors were too bold and harsh so instead I used my blending brushes.  I started with some Basic White Cardstock and blending my inks from light to dark leaving plenty of room to cut out two of each flower. I loved doing it this way because instead of getting each layer a different color, you get blended transformations into each layer.  Some of the layers have multiple colors where the colors blended together and that's ok!  It adds to the details.

For the pink flowers I blending Blushing Bride>Flirty Flamingo>Melon Mambo.  For the yellow ones I blended So Saffron>Daffodil Delight>Mango Melody.  For my leaves I only used two colors Pear Pizzazz>Granny Apple Green.  Once your satisfied with the coloring it's time to cut them out with the dies.  I added Adhesive Sheets on the back of my ink blended pieces to make layering the flowers easier.  Don't forget to add those Adhesive Sheets.  It will save you tons of time in the long run!  To finish my card I added some Linen Thread and some Flowers For Every Season Gems.  I have a full supply list below, you can shop for all of these products in my Online Store.

March Card Crate

I am happy to announce a new way to do classes with me!  Welcome to Card Crate!  The class that comes to your door and you can do your projects on your time from the comfort of your home.  Read on for all the details!


 Card Crate is $35 (includes shipping!)


You'll get:

  • Supplies for your projects
  • A PDF with all the supplies and photos of projects
  • $20 in product, needed to complete your cards

What you'll need:
  • Stamps and ink to complete your projects, per Stampin' Up! policy all projects will come unstamped (you'll know in advance what the supplies are so you can plan ahead and place orders if you need to).  There's always room to substitute items and be creative if you don't have the exact supplies!
  • Adhesive, some months may contain specialty adhesive.
  • Scissors
