Boy do I have a cute project for you today! I have been thinking about making a box like this for a couple week. I love the idea of a box with a book opening and there's chocolate in there! How fun is that?! I'm using the Dragonfly Garden Bundle from the Mini Catalog. This is one that I haven't pulled out much, it's not really my style, BUT every time I use it I LOVE it! So lesson, don't judge a book by it's cover......unless it's adorable chocolate book like this one! I do love the greetings in this set. The font is gorgeous! I used the coordinating Dandy Garden DSP from the suite. Even the dragonfly is punched straight from the DSP. If you were making a bunch of these though I think I'd stamp my dragonfly instead.
I'm calling this a chocolate book because as you can see from the side there's two separate boxes in there. The ribbon unties and the entire box opens like a book! So fun!! For my base I used Misty Moonlight to coordinate with the DSP. To tie my box closed I used the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Pack, the white pattern. This is a nice thick ribbon and perfect for this use. I kept mine tied with a knot but you could do a bow too. I added a little Linen Thread to the greeting, because I have that bow, I was ok with the knot on the side.
The box is easy to make. I'm leaving the measurements here but make sure you check out the video for all the details on this box.
