Mass Produce This One

Logan had his birthday party on Monday.  It's a little early, his birthday isn't until August.  But his cousins were in town and we always get it done before school starts.  I wanted him to make his Thank You cards so this was the simple card I designed for him.  He'll mass produce a bunch of these in no time.  With the new Crumb Cake Note cards it was a breeze to pull together.  All I had to cut was the Pool Party layer and the White layer.  Easy!!!  I love this Watercolor Thank You stamp, my current favorite!!!  So it's quick and simple from me today!  (PS sorry for the shadow on the card.  I had to take pictures at night, not the ideal time!)

Snow Earrings

I don't have a card today, but I have a really sweet, fun project and it's a bit of a sneak peek.  My amazing friend Carmelita attended the Stampin' Up! Convention a couple weeks ago and I brought me back these amazing snowflakes.  They'll be in the new Holiday Catalog.  You get 20 snowflakes in the box and my first thought when I saw them was earrings.  They would make beautiful earrings!!!
I'm not a jewelry maker so I have very limited supplies of jewelry things on hand but I did have earrings and some jump rings and some beads.  In only a matter of minutes I had a set of beautiful winter earrings, or Elsa earrings as they're known in my house :)  I love these little snowflakes, THANK YOU Carmelita!!  You're the best!!!!!

Still Copying The Catalog

I have the last two samples from my Copy The Catalog Class.  I happen to really love these two, so I'm gonna get all gushy in a minute :)  The first is a card I loved on page 46 of the catalog, it's down on the bottom next to the cake. Let me tell you why I love this card, in one word. Ready? Here it is.  Washi.  That's it!  Washi Tape!  Ok two words.  This is the Beach House Washi Tape, in the catalog they use the Sweet Sadie ones, both great, you can't go wrong!  So for this card, I changed the colors to coordinate with the washi tape I had and I changed the stamped balloons on the one in the catalog to random dots.  Dots will work with anything!  This is the polka dot from the Work Of Art set.  We also used the Watercolor Thank You.  I think it's my favorite thank you stamp!    You could easily whip up a bunch of these in no time!  Perfect!!!  Don't you just LOVE washi tape!!!!!!?!
Finally my favorite card!  This is inspired by a card on page 56 of the catalog, the top left.  I changed the colors, I added more layers, but the basic card is still there.  This card is another one that you could easy do 100 in no time, well a little time-100 cards is lot of cards :)  There's 3 stamps, you just stamp, stamp, stamp you're done stamping!  To finish the card, I took some ribbon, all different ribbon, all the colors we used.  Isn't coordination a wonderful thing!  So we have the Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin, the Early Espresso Cotton (by the way, this cotton ribbon is the BEST RIBBON EVER!!!), finally the Crumb Cake Seam Binding.  I just used a staple to hold them in place.  Works great!!  This is probably my favorite card.  I love the simplicity, I love the ribbon, I just love it all!!!  So what are you waiting for, get your catalog out and go make something!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!!!!

Copy The Catalog

I have a really smart friend, she's also a demonstrator.  She's also younger than me, not by much though :)  We were brainstorming class ideas at our last demonstrator meeting and she came up with this class idea.  I loved it so I copied it!  My class on Saturday was Copy The Catalog, I used the samples in the catalog to come up with the cards for this class.  Thanks Carmelita for the idea!!  I know for me, coming up with an idea for a card is sometimes the hardest part.  Using the catalog which is FULL of amazing samples is great idea.  The first card is a fun duplicate of a card on page 109 in the catalog, pull out your catalog and play along!  I clearly used different colors.  For my card we used Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.  It's a fun alternative to the one in catalog!
If you now turn your catalog to page 155 you'll see the this card there too.  This one was one we directly copied, well I did add a couple layer but for the most part it's the same card.  We used the Flower Patch stamp set and matching framelits.  The example in the catalog doesn't have them cut out but I thought that would be fun, plus I need to use dimensionals somewhere on every card!  It's so fun and cheerful I love it!!!  Check back tomorrow for the last two cards!

The Final Rainbow

This will not be the final rainbow card I ever make, nope far from that just the last one of the week.  And quite possibly I saved my favorite for last.  I do love this one.  Especially in person, it's so bright and beautiful!!  And I'll let you in on a secret, this one was the fastest and easiest to make!  Shockingly this is my favorite and there's no glitter???? How did that happen!!!??!?  Let's walk through the process of how this was done.  First these are the supplies you'll need:  Watercolor Paper (you need watercolor paper-no substitutions!  It's the only paper that can withstand the amount of water your going to saturate the cardstock with), Reinkers in your rainbow colors (one last time for fun!  Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry), Aqua painter (or paintbrush), spray bottle filled with water and something to drop your reinkers onto (I used my largest acrylic block, you could also used a plate, a stamp case, anything really that can be cleaned and that the ink won't seep into.
Drop one or two drops of every color of reinker onto whatever solid surface you've chosen, again I used an acrylic block.  Spray your watercolor paper with your spray bottle until it's pretty wet.  You don't want it swimming in water but you want it pretty wet, wet enough that your colors will blend together.    It's also probably a good idea to put a couple paper towels under your paper to catch all the extra water.  Then using your aqua painter (make sure your aqua painter is pretty wet too) pick up your first color of reinker and add it to your wet cardstock, you should immediately see the color start covering and bleeding all over your watercolor paper.  Work quickly and pick up your next color don't worry about cleaning your aqua painter the colors are all bleeding together anyway.  Keep going until you've reached the bottom and your last color.  If your colors aren't blending well, spray more water on your paper, if you have too much water use a dry paper towel and use it to gently pick up that color from your paper.  Once my colors looked good and I was happy I used my heat tool to quickly dry it.  You can let it air dry, but you also risk your colors bleeding more, the longer it's wet the more color bleeding that will take place.  It takes just a few seconds to dry it with the heat tool.  Finally after it was dry I thought it needed just a subtle bit of shine so I used the triangles from the new Dotty Angles set and stamped and embossed them in clear on the left side.  It's not a drastic look, but it adds just enough shine to the side of the card.  I embossed my greeting on Rich Razzleberry cardstock and finished the card with some bakers twine and a button.  I know this looks dramatic and super complicated but it's really not, it's so easy and so fun!!!  I have a really fun class tomorrow, I'll have all the projects on my blog next week!

Rainbow Of Hearts

I had a really tough choice on which card to put up today and which card to put up tomorrow.  I wanted to save my favorite for last.  This one and tomorrow's card (it's a good one!) were a tough choice for me.  In the end this card lost, but just barely!  But it's so cute it's still a winner!  If you've followed my blog all week, you know 3 things about what I associate rainbow cards with.  1) There must be glitter, I don't know why, but there must!  2) Hearts and rainbows apparently go well together 3) Black cardstock is like the glue that holds it all together.  Now tomorrows card will throw all these rules out the window-no glitter, no hearts, just a tiny bit of black.  But let's stay focused on this card.
For the hearts I pulled cardstock of the rainbow colors from my scraps.  I'm not going to name all the colors again, check out the last 3 posts for the colors I used.  I painted on some Dazzling Details onto the scrap pieces of cardstock.  I wanted the glitter-duh! and I wanted to compare the difference of the Dazzling Details painted on verses Crystal Effect and Dazzling Diamonds glitter painted on -which is my favorite.  The verdict, it worked ok, but I'm going to stick with my Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds.  It painted on easier and more evenly the Dazzling Details which got a little clumpy in spots and didn't cover as evenly as I would have liked.  After you paint it and let it dry punch out all your hearts.  I did 3 in every color.  I used glue dots to attach them to the card.  It's easy and there's no drying time.  I finished the card with my greeting and some ribbon.  The hearts looked good but I wanted them to look more 'glossy' so I laid my card flat and carefully went over each heart with some Crystal Effects.  The glitter still shines through but you also get that beautiful glossy look and feel to them.  Set your card aside to dry. Done!  Love it!!!

A Better Place

Continuing on with the rainbow theme this week, I pulled out my Gorgeous Grunge set.  When I say pulled out I meant moved it from one side of my desk to another, let's face it this set never gets put away, it's used far too much :)  I used the stripy, tire track looking stamp for this card.  I stamped it in rainbow order, say it with me this time: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry.  I stamped each color about 3 times, over lapping, just to get a nice even look all the way down the card.  Really I could have left the card just like that it would have been beautiful, but I took my framelits and cut a hole in the center, almost center.
I pulled out my Starburst Sayings set and got to work on the rest of the card.  I stamped the 'You make the world a better place' stamp twice, once in Rich Razzleberry then again in Old Olive.  Use your coordinating framelits, they really do make life easier, to cut out your main image.  I cut out 'world' from the old olive piece and attached it with dimensionals to the main image.  Then I had this empty looking whole in my card.  It looked ok, but the cut out circle needed 'finished' somehow.  I tried some black cardstock, it looked better, so I added some glitter!  YES BETTER INDEAD!!!  I'm a gigantic fan of glitter to begin with, but glitter on rainbow cards just makes me happier than a monkey in a banana tree :)  I added the bakers twine bow just to finish it.  I love it!!

Masked Hearts

How much are you enjoying 'rainbow week'?  Ok it's only day 2, I'll ask again later this week!  This card is really what started it all, this was the first one I made.  You may remember last week I shared a couple cards with the new Stars mask, here and here.  Well I thought it was time to pull out my heart mask.  I laid down the mask, I used Washi Tape to hold my paper and the mask in place, then starting from the left I sponged a rainbow of colors.  I used the same colors as yesterday (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry) but this time instead of Pacific Point I used Tempting Turquoise.
I'm totally smitten with the new masks!!!  How fun is this card!!!  I love how some of the heart are 2 colors, I love how they blended!!!  For the greeting, I used the Watercolor Thank You Stamp.  I stamped it in black, but then I realized that the card needed something, I did want to cover up the hearts with ribbons or accessories, I think they're pretty great the way they are, but the greeting really needed something.  So I pulled out my Crystal Effects and a very small paint brush.  I painted right over the letters then sprinkled the wet Crystal Effects with Dazzling Diamonds.  It's gorgeous!! And  really great quick fix!!!  It added the sparkle that I wanted but doesn't take your focus off the hearts.  LOVE IT!!!!  If you're not sold on the masks yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!?!  They're a great, affordable tool every stamper should have!!

A Rainbow Week

We all have our favorite Stampin' Up! colors, even color groups.  I tend to use the Brights far more than any other group.  Mostly because I love the bright vibrant colors.  When I'm stamping a rainbow the Brights are my first choice of colors.  Over the weekend I was in a rainbow state of mind.  I ended up with a whole stack of rainbow themed cards.  Not intentional, just kind of happened that way.  So this week is 'rainbow week' on my blog!  For the next five days you'll see lots of these 6 colors: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry.
For this card, I used my markers and the Work Of Art Stamp Set.  I used the straight sketchy line.  To start I colored half Real Red and half Pumpkin Pie, well it stamped beautifully so I continued with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive, and so on until I had a full rainbow.  I loved the look of it, but I wanted to spotlight is somehow.  So with the new Sweetheart Punch I punched another piece of Whisper White and layered it on top with dimensionals so it pops up over the rainbow.  So pretty!!!  I mounted in on some Champagne Glimmer Paper and added some gold sequins to tie in all that sparkle!!!  This card is so pretty in person!  I'm so pleased with it!!!  This is just the beginning to a very colorful week here!!!  I can't wait!!!!

Ahoy Matey!

Do you remember my Castle card?  Well it's still sitting on my desk because, well I just love to look at it :)  It makes me happy.  Then one day, Logan asked me to make him a castle.  Well I didn't think he really wanted a castle, especially a pink, especially one with rhinestones.  So it got me thinking what would I do for a boy??????  A pirate ship!  So this box card was born.
I really wanted it to look like a ship, so I researched on Pintrest punch art ships.  I love getting ideas of how others have created ships.  I found this one.  I thought it would be perfect.  It had the right look that I was going for so I created it in my own way.  While I was making it I didn't click on the link to read more on her ship I just went from the picture so here's how I did it.  I cut a piece of cardstock the same side as the front of my card.  2.5x3.  I used my 2 inch circle punch and punched out lots of crescent shapes.  I started with the right side.  I marked the center of my cardstock and started gluing down the crescents (after they were heavily sponged).  I put the tip of each crescent along that marked line in the center.  I started from the bottom and worked my way up.  Then I did the left side the same way.  I randomly punched the crescent shapes some were thin some were thicker, so based on the size there's a few more 'planks' (whatever you would call them on left side).  It doesn't bother me so I'm good with it.  Finally have a thin piece of Early Espresso down the center to cover up the mess where they all come together.  I only did this on the front of the card.  I did consider doing the sides.  But I wasn't sure how this was going to look in the long run and really the front it all that needs to be done.  If I did it again, for a clean look, I may do the sides, but this was by far the most time consuming part of the card, I wasn't that eager to do it 2 more times.
Instead for the sides I used my Crumb Cake and Early Espresso sponges and just sponged random ink spots on it.  This makes the sides of the ship look very worn by the sea.  Other things you could do, some black circles for cannons, maybe just some windows in the side????  You could also add a plank on the side, that would be cute!!  All good ideas for next time!!
As for the sails and flags I used the Moonlight DSP Stack.  I was going to add some 'pirates' on the ship but by the time I finished the wheel on the ship (which was the last thing I added and by the way is just the 1 inch and the 1.25 inch circle punches with strips of Daffodil Delight) I was already almost 90 minutes into this card.  While these cards come out wonderful, they're very time consuming.  Of course since this is my first ship, the second and any others I do would go much quicker since I'm not creating it from scratch.  But again since I was 90 minutes into the card I decided to forgo the pirate, this time :)  So let me know what you think.....I'm sure there will another ship in the near future, just writing down all these ideas gets me anxious to make another one.....maybe a whole fleet!!!

Flower Patch

I have a funny....not that funny.....story about this stamp set.  Right after the catalog was released in June I put in an order...ok it was a large order :)  Of course I needed the new stuff!!!  So my plan all along was to get this bundle, the Flower Patch stamp set and the matching Flower Flair Framelits as one of my half off items......well as it would turn out, I wrote down the item number for just the stamp set.  I didn't realize it until I got my order and realized that there were. no. framelits. in. the. box. :(  So I would have to wait until my next order to get my framelits.  Well then you know life happened, orders were delayed, we were out of town and well I just got the framelits a couple weeks ago.  But I do have them now.  So don't do what I did...no no no.  Make sure you get the bundle, because you'll NEED the framelits!!
I love everything about this card.  Yesterday I said this card didn't have any embossing, I lied!  I forgot that the greeting was embossed.  Ooops!  Let's get to the details of this card.  I started with my DSP.  I love this polka dot pattern from the Flowerpot DSP.  So once I knew I was using that my colors just came easy.  The dark blue in the DSP is Night of Navy, what goes well with Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight!  It all just came together so pretty!!  I love this card.  The bow is so pretty, the flower is just lovely, my favorite is the button with the loopy linen thread!  It all just works!!  I'm so pleased with this card!!

More Stars

I have one more sample...for this week with the star mask or stencils.  This package also comes with hearts.  I haven't tried the hearts yet.  I've been slightly obsessed with the stars.  But for less than $3, yes these are only $2.95 (US) you get stars and hearts.  So really you can't afford NOT to own them :) This one is simple and far less elaborate then yesterdays, (though I did love all that sparkle!).  But I did break out my heat tool again for this card.  I'm really LOVING embossing lately.  I don't know if you're the same way but I seem to go through 'stages' of stamping.  I'm in the embossing stage, which means all cards that I make will include embossing, but that's ok, what's not to love!  I used 2 colors of embossing powder for this card.  I sponged the stencil on black in Versamark then sprinkled some of the areas with silver and some with gold.  Some stars have a nice mixture of both and it looks so cool!
The little greeting on the front is from Chalk Talk, I embossed it in gold.  There's some vellum and some Brushed Silver Cardstock to bring out the gold and silver from the embossing powder.  The entire card is Brushed Gold :)  I didn't add any accessories to this card, I really wanted the shine and sparkle from the embossed stars to stand out on their own.  Try the stencils, I love them!!!  I have beautiful card for you tomorrow, that's....gasp....not embossed......gasp!!!!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!!

How 'Bout Some Glitter?

I wasn't sure how this card was going to end up.  Ever make one of those.  You just keep going with a loose plan in your head.  This was this card.  It's nothing like what I had planned, thank goodness!!  I just got the new heart and stars stencils, boy are they FUN!  My original plan was to emboss white stars, so I went with some darker, rich colors, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Island Indigo, and Elegant Eggplant.  I had all my paper cut and I laid them out and put the stencil on top.  Well the bottom pieces were covered in stars but as the stars get fewer as you go up, my upper pieces weren't very star covered.  That wouldn't do.  My plan was to have them covered in stars.  So I did one at a time.  The stars don't align where the cardstock meets, but I'm ok with that.  How often do your stars align anyway? :)
So back to the white embossing powder, I originally thought I wanted them in white but as I was sponging the versamark over the star mask I thought, hmmmmm what about glitter!  So I did the first one with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, well I was sold!  Sparkle, gloss, what's not to love!?!  Oh and can I just mention how much I love embossing.  If you're ever in a stamping rut, break out some embossing powder.  It's one of the easiest and oldest techniques but it's always amazing!!!
Finally for the greeting I pulled out some Black cardstock.  I'm slightly obsessed with the Black, I've been using it All. The. Time. Lately. So here's where I brought out my white embossing powder.  I used the 'It's Your Celebration' from the Life's Adventures stamp set.  And the 'Sparkle' is from a new set that will be available soon!!!!  A little black Bakers Twine pulls it all together!!  I'm so glad I went with the glitter!  Looking at it now I think it would have been a little over powering all in white :)  It's good to be flexible and go with the flow when you're stamping :)

Thanks for looking, see you tommorrow!!!

Castle Winner

Before we get to the card, let's get to the winner of this Rich Razzleberry card!  I had 8 comments, thanks so much to all who commented, I loved reading them.  It looks like the castle card and the Cinderella card were the most popular cards.  So let's get to the winner.  The winner was chosen randomly.  I had 8 pieces of paper, numbered 1-8 on them, folded them up and had Megan pick one.  She picked #3 which was Cynthia Davis.  Congratulations, she'll receive this Rich Razzleberry castle card!!!!!
This Rich Razzleberry Castle is done the same way as the pink one that I posted last week.  I used the same DSP Sweet Taffy, this time with the Rich Razzleberry print.  The challenging part on this one was finding a shade of purple for the towers that would coordinate well.  I tried every shade of lighter purple that we carry, none of them looked good, so I decided the towers on this card would be a darker purple, our new Blackberry Bliss!!!
I really love these colors, I think for the castle it gives it a very striking bold look, perfect for any fairy tale!!  Once again thanks to all who commented.  I do read every comment that comes through my blog, and I do appreciate everyone of them.  Thanks!!!
Thanks for looking see you soon!!!!

Number 1600

Before we get to the card, and other news just a reminder TODAY is the last day to comment on this post to win your own Rich Razzleberry castle card-hurry go!!!!  The winner and card will be posted on Monday, good luck!!!!  In other news this is my 1600 post!!!  1600!  That's a whole lot of stamping, coloring, cutting, MDSing and dimensionals!  I don't even want to think about how many dimensionals I've used in my stamping career, let's just say it isn't a little number :)  I love my blog, it's not the 'biggest' or possible the most original (let's face it, I'm good at CASEing things) but I love it.  It's my creative retreat, it's what keeps me stamping daily (mostly) and it's made me a better stamper all around.  It's my small connection to you and the Stampin' Up! world.  Whether you've been following me for years of if you've just found me, THANK YOU!!  I'm pretty sure that I'd do my blog even if no one looked at it.  But it brings joy to my heart when you comment, email or tell me in person how much you've loved a card or project that I've shared.  So thanks for sticking with me for 1600 posts, here's to many many more!!!
Now that the mushy, gushy stuff is out of the way let's get to the card :)  So when I saw this set, Kinda Eclectic, in the catalog I thought 'cute but not for me'.  Then I saw one card that I liked, then two, then ten and well now I own it :)  I didn't think I would, but I just love this little collage effect!!!  This stamp (along with a box of other items-yay) was delivered to me, just minutes after I returned home from my stamp session with Carmelita.  Well the creativity was already flowing so I opened it up and made this card.  I stuck with my 'gold' theme for the day, mostly because that paper was already out :)  I embossed the sunburst in gold to tie in the Gold Soiree DSP, then I used Calypso Coral and Garden Green to stamp everything else.  I added a butterfly and some gold sequins.  Lovely!!!  I love this card!!!  Thanks for sticking with me for 1600 posts!  Check back Monday to see my lovely Rich Razzleberry (can't part with it it's too pretty) castle and the winner!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!

Just Because

Stamping with friends is always more fun than stamping alone :)  Yesterday I had the wonderful pleasure of stamping with my good friend and fellow demonstrator Carmelita.  She's off to convention in less than a week and she was working on her swaps.  She let me, and my children, come over and stamp too.  The kids, watched Frozen, and played.  We stamped!  I made 20 of these cards, aren't they pretty?!!!
This was kind of a last minute get together :)  So I pretty much stuffed everything that was on my desk in a bag and decided to make it up when I got there.  I've really been wanting to work with our Gold Soiree DSP so I threw that in, along with coordinating cardstock colors, a couple punches, coordinating ink and some random accessories.  I took 5 stamp sets, only used one :)  I do LOVE this gold DSP though!!!  Is shiny and the gold parts are oh so pretty!!!  I love the doily on the bottom and the bow on the heart, it really ties it all together.  Thanks so much Carmelita, we had a GREAT time!!!  Let's do it again soon!!!

Quick note, the Clearance rack has been updated today!!  Make sure to check it out.  There are deals up to 80% off!!!!  Shop now and use this hostess code to win prizes CVQUQYNQ

Be YOU tiful

I had so much fun sharing all my Camp Crop a Lot projects with you, I hope you enjoyed them too.  Make sure to comment on yesterday's post to win your own castle card!!  I've been a little out of practice when it comes to stamping.  I wrote and prescheduled all my posts from the last couple weeks back in June, right after the scrapbook weekend.  Meanwhile, we were in St. Louis for a family reunion.  The kids had a great time, they love hotels, who doesn't.  We were only there a few days but squeezed in a ton of stuff.  We did Six Flags, the Arch, Grants Farm and more.  But needless to say we were detached from the 'real' world for a while.  Getting back and adjusting, especially for the kids has been a challenge.  There's later bedtimes, special treats and more fun on vacation, now that we're back it's a rough change back to reality.  But we're getting back to our routines, I'm beginning to get into my stamp room more and more this week.  But when you're away from it for a while, it's hard to get that creativity flowing again.  I decided to start simple, with some cute 3x3 cards.  This stamp set has been sitting on my desk since before our trip.  I had to use it.  It's so easy and fun to use!!  I love these bright colors!!!
These little notecards are perfect to have handy when you need a quick note.  The colors are Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.  LOVE THEM!!!  The card are pretty simple.  I stamped the flowers, they're photopolymer stamps so you can see exactly where they're going.  I have a love/hate relationship with photopolymer stamps.  It's slowly working it's way to love but they're still not my favorite :)  But it makes lining up stamp so easy and quick!!!!  Finally to finish the card I added some pearls.  The pearls in the center of the flower were colored with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, the green pearls were colored with the Old Olive Blendabilities....like you need another reason to love them right!!!?!?  That's it from me for today, I need to get stamping!!!

Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

My Favorite

Choosing my favorite project of the scrapbook weekend is never easy.  This time there were so many amazing cards!!!  Do you have a favorite yet???  You'll want to pick one, because I'm making another card like this, but in Rich Razzleberry and I will draw one winner and mail them that card!!!  To win the card, leave a comment on THIS post telling me what your favorite card or project has been over the last 2 weeks, before Friday July 11.  I'll post the winner on Monday July 14.  Remember you'll win a Rich Razzleberry one, that will be shown on Monday the 14th.
Back to the details of this card.  It is a card, and folds flat to mail.  Cool huh!!!?  Have you made any of the box cards yet?  I'm not sure who invented them but I love them.  This is my variation on it, inspired by this card.  To make the box card you'll need a piece of cardstock that is 8.5x5.5  On the long side score at 2, 4, 6, and 8.  On the short side score at 2.5.  Cut along the 2, 4, 6, and 8 inch score line until you get to the horizontal 2.5 inch line and you have the tabs for your box.  You'll put adhesive on the 1/2 tab on the 8.5 inch side and adhere the card.  That's the basic card.
I cut off 3 of the tabs, the front and the two sides.  I left the back, it makes the sky in the back.  I used oval framelits to get the curved edge.  I also added two tabs on the inside of my box, each measures 1x3, score the long side at 1/2 inch on each side and glue those to the inside of the box.  Those tabs are what's holding up the pillars of the castle.
There's lots of dimensionals and rhinestones to make it a beautiful castle.  I love this!!  I also used the new Sweet Taffy DSP, the Melon Mambo pattern, so pretty!!!  It's sitting on my desk and I love looking at it everyday!!!  So make sure to comment on your favorite card or project from the last 2 weeks, it can be any of the projects from the last 2 weeks, leave your comment by Friday and you could win your very own Rich Razzleberry Castle!!!

Cinderella

When I saw this card on pintrest, I knew it was going to be made.  I love it so much.  I added a ton of glitter, this is my Crystal Effect and Dazzling Diamonds glitter mixture.  So stinking pretty!!!  I think on Whisper White Cardstock it might be my favorite!!!!  I waited until Sunday to make this card, I thought it would be too time consuming, I was wrong, it took longer for the glitter to dry before this was done.  The birds are circle punches, I think I used the 3/4 Inch punch for the body and wing and the head is the 1/2 Inch Circle punch.  The tail of the bird is the 4 petal flower from the retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack.
The dress, though beautiful and sparkly, is just circles as well!!!  The only thing that's not a circle is the top, which is the dress from the Dress Up framelits (retired).  I'm so glad I kept mine!!  They'll get LOTS of use now!!!  The bottom part of the dress is done with the circle framlits.  Do one is white and one in Marina Mist.  I cut the Marina Mist one in half, then accordion folded the white one.  To get the little oval shapes, use a circle punch and punch a circle then feed it back into the punch and punch again and you'll get the oval shape.  It's so beautiful!!!!!

ANOTHER Wobbly Bottom?

Did you catch yesterday's post with the kitty's wobbly bottom?  Make sure you read that, so you know what I'm talking about :)  My 2 day plea to SU to carry these little springs continues.  This time with a duck bottom.  Now I'm sure you can make tons of other things wobbly that aren't behinds of animals, I'm not sure why you would :) but I'm sure you can!  But wobbly animal bottoms are just the cutest thing ever!!!  Maybe I'm easily amused, but they're pretty cute!!
So today I have a duck bottom.  Now the original plan was not to make his bottom wobbly but it just happened that way while we were at the weekend, one thing leads to another, you have one to many sips of cherry vodka and before you know it your duck's butt is wobbly :)  The inspiration for this card came from here, from a card I saw on Pintrest.  The duck is super easy.  It's the bird from the Bird Builder Punch, just cut off his head.  The feet are the largest flower from the Boho Blossom Flower punch, just cut out 3 petals.  Layer lots of circles for the pond, add some Crystal Effects 'water' you're done!  Stinkin' cute!!!
I also preprinted the greeting for this card, it says: "Hope you're right side up again soon."  More animal puns, I'm giggling at home typing this :)  Back to my plea, his bottom wobbles!!! What more can I say. Stampin' Up! please!!!!!  We're almost done with all the cards I made at the scrapbook weekend.  There's 2 left....did I save the best for last?????
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!!

His Wobbly Bottom

This card began a long time ago, probably months ago at my last punch art class, I have a friend who follows my blog and she asked if I could do cat punch art, or if I had any examples, something along those lines.  I know I've done cats in the past, but finding it is another issue, it's almost easier to make a new card, so month's later that's what I did!  It doesn't have a greeting, I will add something to it eventually.  But in my search for 'cat' cards, I was really searching for a funny cat pun to put on the card, I came across this card.  It was so cute, the layout was adorable and the idea behind it was so cute I had to make it!!
The card I was inspired by uses a stamped image, I thought, I COULD carve one, but no that's not going to happen, I'll just do it in punches!  So the little kitty, adorable as he is, peeks through the window on the front of the card, his bottom hangs on the inside.  His body and paws are just circle punches.  His ears are the triangle punch, I just rounded the tip.  His tail, inside of the ears and nose are just cut with my snips.
The best part of the card, and SU if you're listening please, please, please, please, please (is that too many please's??) carry this product.  Now I'm a die hard SU purist, I rarely ever ever ever even go into the paper aisles in and big box craft store, why would I?  I have access to the BEST products on the market.....but I was in search of this product and forced myself to go.  They're little plastic springs, I put between the front of the cat and rear of the cat.  The spring makes his bottom wobbly. SHUT. THE. FRONT. DOOR. GET. OUT. OF. TOWN. THAT'S. TOO. CUTE!!!
His bottom wobbles without touching it (I type the weirdest sentences!) but if you were to wiggle his tail his little bottom becomes a wobbly bottom.  So cute!!!  So again my plea to SU, please carry these!!  I have a million and one ideas that I need to make and I want to buy them from you so please, please, please carry them!!!!  This ends the begging portion of the blog post.....until tomorrow....
