Happy Halloween! I'm so very sorry but I have nothing today. It's been a jampacked week of 'chores', plus I'm gone all day today with Logan on a special Halloween Field Trip to a pumpkin patch! I've been so busy I haven't even had time to download all my new MDS downloads! I'll be back tomorrow with something I PROMISE!

Hootiful Gifts!!
I have some amazingly cute little gifts to share with you today. These are the gifts I'm giving to Logan's teachers. I JUST LOVE THEM!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE them to pieces!!! These little candy bar wrappers are making their way through blogland. I've only seen them in bat form, which is cute, but I really wanted to make an owl. I'm difficult like that :) The head was the hardest part. I ended up free hand drawing and cutting it out. The little tag is adorable and says: "Have a Hootiful Halloween!"-more on the tag later :)
The candy bar is actually in a box that the wings wrap around. Yes it's a full size candy bar! Logan's in first grade I think his teach deserves a full size candy bar! The chocolate will slide out the bottom. I did consider leaving the box out but I love all his colorful feather inside! It's so cute!!!!! I may add feet to the owl though :)
Ok the fantastic tag! This tag was created in MDS by the ever talented Kimberly Van Diepen! She has it on her blog, you too can print yourself a page of the Hootiful tags!!!!! She's done all the work here. I just added it to my little owl candy holder. For my east coast visitors, I'm thinking and praying for you! Be safe!!!!!

HUGE NEWS!!!!
I don't have a project for you today but I have something equally if not MORE exciting. There's HUGE news from SU, make sure you read it all below. But first I wanted to show you my new favorite tool!!! The brand new paper cutter. It's been unavailable since the release of the catalog in June, but the wait is over. Demonstrators can get it now, it will be available for customers to purchase sometime in November. It's a fantastic cutter. Here's just some of the things that I LOVE about it!!!! Perhaps I'm just used to my dull old paper cutter but the cuts it makes are amazing, they're clean, sharp and no rough edges, even when I tried it with 2 pieces of CS!!! I love the lines on it and that they're under a plastic cover, that means your numbers will NEVER rub off!!!!! I love that the lines measure every quarter inch. I love that you don't have to open the extender just to cut to 5 1/2, my most used cut! The extender though, when you do open it is sturdy and just as perfect as the rest of the cutter. I love how sturdy it feels and the size and color. The blades are smaller than I thought but I love that too. The dark grey one cuts and the light grey one scores your cardstock. I LOVE that you don't have to remove a blade to cut 12x12 CS!!! There's room for both blade and 12x12 cardstock in there!!!! There's a storage compartment on the bottom that's great for storing extra blades, bone folders, chocolate! It's a great cutter!!!! When final dates are announced for the cutter I'll make sure to let you know. You'll want to get it as soon as possible!!!
Now for the really exciting news. I hope you're sitting down!
HUGE things are happening at the Stampin' Up! office. They're planning big

An Owloween Treat!
Did you happen to see the winner of last weeks MDS challenge? It was the fantastic Heather Summers!! Congratulations Heather. I do LOVE all her work and she is an MDS genius-I've learned so much from her. Which is where today's project comes from. If you check out Heather's winning page you'll see the most adorable little Halloween Owls. I just loved them and HAD to make them right away!!!! Logan had given me very strict instructions for his class Halloween gifts: "I just a piece of paper with the sucker stuck in it." So I created these little tags, they're about 2 1/4 x 4. You get 6 per sheet, you probably could get 8 per sheet, but I'm always terrified that if I design too close to the edge it will get cut off in printing. So, often, to be safe, I generally leave big borders. Since I needed them right away I sent them to Staples to print.
I'm so happy to say too, that these were all cut out with the brand new paper cutter!!!! It's fantastic, but I'll have more on the cutter another day :) I followed Logan's rules-paper and sucker---very simple. Sorry the picture isn't great. You know procrastinating is becoming a real problem. I hate taking pictures without natural light but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do :) I hope you get the idea. These were so simple to make. I just glued the tags to some black cardstock, punched a couple holes, add the candy--DONE!!! 25 of them in just minutes!!!!!

A Little More Time...
Yesterday I felt like making a card that was a little detailed, well maybe a lot detailed. A card that took more than 3 minutes to put together. A card that was simply stunning. And a card almost too pretty to mail....almost. Here's the card I came up with. I used the Stippled Blossoms set. I love this set. It's so pretty, I love love love this color combo!!! Thanks amazing color coach I {heart} you!!!! I looked at my color coach and I knew I wanted pink flowers, I had some extra Primrose Petal ribbon :) so I looked up Primrose Petals. Coordinating colors were Baja Breeze and So Saffron. The green was added because, well, leaves are green :)
The flowers and leaves are all cut out, that's what took so long :) Almost everything is up on dimensionals. I counted and I think I used about 30 dimensionals on just this card alone. Don't judge me. Dimensionals are awesome and I keep thousands of them in stock (no joke). So 30 is really not that many :) The edges are sponged with Sahara Sand just to give some more texture. There's no greeting on it. I think once I know who the lucky recipient of this card will be I'll add an appropriate greeting. I hope you like my card that took a little more time than usual :)

Neon Notes!
How stinkin' sweet is this page!!!! These are some pictures I took of Megan yesterday. Every time I get out my camera to take pictures of cards she always jumps up on the chair and insists that I take some of her too. Normally she has her eyes closed or they're blurry from her moving. Not yesterday though, she was ready to be photographed!!! I love the picture on the left for sure!! My friend Kim said "That's the look we ALL get when we are in our stamping space!" Very true, especially when there's new stuff!!!! This page is this weeks submission to the MDS contest. The theme this week Neon! I love the super bright bold colors on this page and the soft black and white photos. If you like this page, head over the MDS site and like and comment on my page. It's BIG day here!!! I'm expecting UPS and he has my new paper cutter!!!! Whoooo Hooo!!! I'm off to sit *inpatiently* by the door :)

Trick or Treat
We had a really fun weekend. Saturday Megan had a small birthday 'party'. We just had the grandparents over, not sure you can call that a party. But she got gifts and has played with them ever since! She got a really fun princess castle and all the accessories to go with it, she's a happy girl. Luckily she had some new toys to play with since on Sunday Dan, Logan and I were off to see the Lion King. It's the traveling Broadway show, the Lion King is in Albuquerque for almost a month. It was really great. Logan loved it! His eyes were glued to the stage the whole time (except for the times where certain animals came walking right by our seats). We made sure to get seats on the floor right on the aisle for that very reason :) So because of our busy weekend you'll understand why this post is kind of quick. This first card is a quick and easy Halloween card that is so fast to put together you could make a stack in just minutes. I won't go into too many details on it. There's no mind blowing technique on it after all:)
The next card is the card that Logan made for Megan for her birthday. He really wanted to make her a card, but I was in the middle of cooking dinner so I handed him a left over envelope filled with the supplies to make this card (scroll down to the 3rd card) from my stamp a stack. I told him he could use any stamps and supplies that were already out on my desk. So here's what he created. Isn't it great!!?!! He even dug through my box of recycled paper to find the right colors to punch the cherries and candles! Sorry the picture isn't great. I had to take it on Friday night in my poorly lit stamp room. He said he did 2 cupcakes because one is for Megan the other is for him :) This post ended up being longer than I thought, have a great Monday, I just got a shipment of FUN in so I'll be playing with that this week!!!

MDS Punches
How great is MDS, I know I've praised it before but when you can create something out of punches that's just as amazing as with paper well then whats not to love!!! This fun Halloween card is made with yes PUNCHES in MDS! I'll give you a little tip, it's the drop shadows that do the real magic. If the punches were all just layered without the drop shadows it wouldn't look nearly as amazing! I love this adorable little card. The witch is fun, not scary :) It's my submission for this weeks MDS contest. Head over there and check it out. You still have time to enter your own Halloween creation!

Happy Birthday Megan!!!
Today is Megan's 2nd birthday. She's a crazy, energetic, lovable, sweet little girl who often can drive me crazy and then make me smile all at the same time. She loves pink and anything and everything that glitters and sparkles. She's all girl!!! I created this fun card for her. The base of the card is a window sheet, how fun is that!!!! I love the bright yellow tag and the glittery 2. Don't forget all those rhinestones!!!
The 2 is from the silver glimmer paper. I found a chipboard 2-how perfect!!! I traced it onto the back of the silver paper, cut it out then dyed it Melon Mambo with a sponge and some Melon Mambo reinker! How cool custom glitter paper!!!! Whoooo Hooo!!!! That was a fun tip from our Stampin' Success this month-a demonstrator only magazine.
I lined the inside of the card with some Melon Mambo cardstock and stamped a birthday greeting for Megan. There's still room for us to write something though if we get too wordy I may have to just use a separate sheet of paper :) I should have lined it with another card inside so that you could open the inside into another card. Oh well nice thinking for next time!

Vintage Penguin
I love the vintage look to this card. The cardstock is crumpled and ruffled, the safety pin is fun and the splatter makes it look aged! So fun!!!! Also the newsprint DSP is fantastic. I can't believe it's taken me so long to get it!!!! Am I crazy!!!!?! This card was inspired by this card made my Kimberly Van Diepen. She's amazing and I love her style, her cards always have a fun feel to them and the layers she adds are incredible!!!! I just love all her work!!!
Looking at the pictures of this card the tags seem to be a little off. They just look so huge! I used the stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes but I think it's too much. I think I may trim off the Christmas part of the tags so they just say 'merry'. I didn't notice that on the card in person so I'll have to go back and take another look at it. I love the rest of the card though, it's so fun!!!!
I love all the colors on this card, the color inspiration came from a hot air balloon I saw at the Balloon Fiesta that is held in Albuquerque every year. I jotted down the colors of the balloon and came home and had to create with those colors. They are Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery. I wish I had a good picture of the balloon to show you. The only picture I have isn't great, it was a little overcast the day we went to the Balloon Fiesta.

Stack of Christmas Cards!
Over the weekend I had my Christmas card stamp a stack. This class is always popular! I had a great time, I hope everyone else did as well. The Christmas cards this year were simple, fun and easy to reproduce-good thing too because everyone made 20 cards 5 each of the four designs. The first one is fun! We used Dazzling Details to add the ornaments on the tree! So fun!!!!
The next one I just love, the cute little reindeer is so cute!!! I love the banner on this card! The chevron folder adds a subtle but fun background!
Who doesn't love glitter!!!?! This card might be my favorite, the glitter paper is just AMAZING!!!!!! The greeting and flowers are embossed in gold embossing powder to add to the sparkle and shine!!!!
Finally, this card was inspired by my friend Michelle C. She made a card like this at our shoebox swap. I love the door and couldn't wait to make one. With the Core'dations cardstock it really brings out the woodgrain texture.

Birthday Banner
Friday was my Dad's 60th Birthday, we had a surprise party for him on Saturday. I also had my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack on Saturday morning, right before the party :) I'll show you those cards in the next couple of days. Today's card however is another Pintrest inspired card....it might be time for another Pintrest week.....stay tuned!!!!! This card is the inspiration for my card. I love the banner and I love how even though I have bows and hearts it's still a masculine card.
I used the Fitting Occasion stamp set, which works perfectly for this card. Also the newsprint DSP is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! If you haven't had a chance to use it I strongly encourage it!!! This paper is great!!! I used the star punch, I know it's retired but it just fit in so well. I'll be back tomorrow with a couple of the cards from my class over the weekend.
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

Hoppin' Halloween Style!
It's time for our monthly Ladybug INK. blog hop!! This is a hop that contains the bloggers from our local Albuquerque group. You'll make an endless circle through the blogs but if you ever get lost you can click the links at the bottom. This months theme is Halloween!!! You might remember this door hanger that I made a while back. My upline, Amber, commented on my hanger and said that one of her customers made her a box similar to the door hanger. Well after that the wheels in my head started to turn and I came up with this box.
I took all the elements of door hanger to create this little 2x2 box. I have the spider, the ghost and Frankenstein. I also added one more element with the witch's hat on top of the box.
Sorry for the glare on this picture. I have the pumpkin. Making all these little elements on a much smaller scale was fun but I think I enjoy the larger scale one's a little better. I think a 4x4 size box would be fun!
If I had another side, or perhaps on my next one instead of the witch's hat a mummy would be cute! I'll be sure to share that.......if it gets made :)
Of course it's not Halloween without a few treats. So what better to put in the box then a whole lot of chocolate!!!! This is all I had on hand but this box is big enough to hold some mini candy bars or perhaps my favorite a stack of Ghiradelli chocolates! I hope you enjoyed my sweet Halloween box. Now it's time to hop over to Kim's blog. I'm sure she'll have some great ideas for your Halloween crafting this year!
Here's a list of all the stops you'll make in case you get lost.

Welcome Fall
I love the change of seasons, especially fall---though I could jump straight to spring and skip winter all together :) But what I love most about fall is the change of leaves. I pulled out an old stamp set for this one. The Lovely As A Tree set has been in the catalog ever since I joined Su and that was almost 10 years ago!!!!! It's my go to stamp set for masculine cards and I've been known to make quite a few Christmas cards with this set. You'll probably see a few later this year too! I saw this card on pintrest, here's the link to the creator. I loved the look of it and I HAD to recreate it. I JUST LOVE THIS CARD!!!!! I love the DSP scraps used on this card.
For the tree I colored it with my markers. Coloring your stamps is easy and fun. When mixing the colors like this make sure you start with your lightest color and work your way to the darker colors that way you don't muck up your colors lighter makers with the darker ink. I used Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, More Mustard and a touch of Midnight Muse. This card is so simple but so so stunning!!! I used my color spritzer to add just a little spritz of Early Espresso.

Scrap Map Challenge
It's challenge time again over at the My Digital Studio Blog!!! Last week I didn't win (I haven't won yet-but I'm having a ton of fun!!!) but I did get an honorable mention so that was pretty cool. Plus with all these challenges who knows maybe I'll get my scrapbooking done! This weeks challenge is to use their scrap map to create a page. I tried to stick pretty close to the scrap map, but the pictures I wanted to use didn't work in that layout so I 'scraped' the whole page and started again.
This page I used 4 photo boxes (just like the scrap map) and grouped them together then filled them with my picture. I love the look of this. I have some rounded corners and I love that the picture is a funky shape. I made my journaling round too, but kept it within the scrap map guidelines. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. It's a fun page don't you think? If you like it, head to the MDS site and like and comment on my page. This page is so much fun I just love it!!!!

Bringing The Sparkle!
This picture was taken pretty quickly with a little girl at my feet so I didn't realize that part of the card wasn't photographed well. The right side of the card is some extra sparkle from from the silver glitter paper. It's glued on the inside of the card and the front of the card is trimmed a little shorter so that when the card is closed all the way the extra sparkle shines!!! I hope you get the idea. Otherwise there looks like there's a lot going on with this card but really it comes together fast and easy! The snowflakes are all from one die, the banners are cut from a framelit. So it's all very quick and easy!
I love how elegant and beautiful the snowflake is though. The glitter paper just changes the look of it in an instant. I love the vintage button on it and I finished it with a pearl, so pretty!!!!! This post is a little late but I hope it's worth the wait!!!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!
It's Only Tuesday!
And I'm already behind! No post this morning, I'm hoping to be back later this morning or early afternoon with a little something :) Please check back!

On My Broom
Halloween is coming, I'm sure you're aware. I used to not craft for Halloween at all. I just never gave Halloween cards and I didn't have kids in school to take treats to. However, times have changed and I've found myself crafting Halloween treats in September! Halloween treats are fun and often a little out of the box creative which I love!!!!! These witch broom sucker treats were so stinkin' cute I had to make them for a little bunco party I had last week.
I saw on Tami White's blog how to do them and you will kick yourself for throwing out (or hopefully recycling) all that brown packing paper that came with your last order. Yes indeed this is recycling on a whole new level! I always knew SU wanted us to craft with that brown paper! These little brooms couldn't be easier too. All you need is a couple of circles cut out of the brown paper, cut slits in them almost to the center and poke your sucker through. So CUTE!!!
Tami has a great video I encourage you to check it out on further details on how to make these little brooms. In the video Tami uses the circle scissors plus to cut her circles. Well that's probably one of the few things I don't have :) So I just found a bowl in my kitchen that was about 6 inches in diameter and traced that and cut them out. This paper's pretty thin so you can cut a whole stack at once. Have a great Monday! I'm hoping to be back all week to show you fun stamping things, but I won't make any promises. This week promises to be busy, busy and probably a little (A LOT!) crazy. But I will do my best!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

No Room For Me
My desk has been taken over with my prep for one of my favorite classes of the year. My Christmas Card Stamp a Stack is next week. This class is always so big that it takes me weeks (no joke) to prep. Normally I can prep a class in just a few days but my Christmas card class is a whole different story. I love this class though, of all my classes this one is the best value and how great do you feel when you can complete 20 cards in just a couple hours! But the only downside (and it's really not a big deal) is that I loose about 80% of my desk space. Yes my messy, messy desk! So as of last night when the prep took over my stamping mat I'm unable to stamp! Not really I'll find a way :) But anyway you didn't come here to hear me ramble on about my desk, you came to hear me ramble on about my projects!
Isn't this little can cute!?! Here's the story on these little cans. A few months ago at our demo meeting, my friend Mindy (who is moving and I'm so sad about) demoed these little cans. Now I've seen them before I've even made some in the past. But sometime you just need to be reminded of all those wonderful projects. So she did that. I went out and bought a case full of little canned peaches and fruit for Logan and Megan. We've been enjoying the fruit and I've been saving the cans. Thinking I'll use them in a class someday. Well about a month ago we decided to throw my Dad a surprise birthday party next week (don't worry I'm pretty sure my Dad doesn't check my blog). The party favors are being made by yep me! So I had plans for these cute little boxes with cupcakes on them and they were going to be super cute. Then I got the number of how many favors I will need to make and quickly needed a plan B, knowing that I would not have time in a week to get the boxes done. So the cans to the rescue!!!! They're easy, fun and probably fit in better for a 'man's party' then my cute little boxes :) So I wrapped each can in the Comfort Cafe DSP, wrapped it with ribbon and added some tags, that say sweet treat, just for you and thank you. These cans are super simple to make the only thing you really need is a smooth edge can opener. You open the cans from the bottom, and the smooth edge opener takes off the whole bottom part. Fill it with you treats then use crystal effects to glue the bottom back on. So fun right!!!

Mama Said....
This page just makes me laugh. We all have those days where we feel like nothing is going our way. When you're 6 it's the end of the world. I'm not even sure why he was angry when this pictures were taken but he was mad, even more mad after I took a couple pictures :) This scrapbook page is my entry into this weeks challenge over at the MDS site. Go check out my page and 'like' it while you're there it can't hurt my chances. This weeks challenge was to use some of the September downloads. Well I bought my fair share of downloads in September so I knew I had stuff to work with. One of my favorite downloads is the frame. It comes in a set of 5 or 6 fun, funky frames. I loved them and I think I bought them instantly that day. This frame is the grey one I changed to brown. The background is also some of the new DSP in September it's from the It's a Wrap download. It was Calypso Coral but that color really didn't go with the page but I love the patten so I color changed it to Crumb Cake. Fun page huh. Get out there and take some pictures that will make your children furious. That's what we're here to do right!?!

Here's Cassies second swap. Love the coloring she did on this one!
This is Kay's swap. You can't tell but it's full of sparkle! Gotta love the sparkle!!!
This is LaRee's swap. She used the brayer to create her background. So pretty!! And would you believe she hand drew in the grass!!! That's serious talent!
This is Kim's card. She may have convinced me to buy this set after her swap. I love her coloring too!!
