September Paper Pumpkin

A few days ago I shared these cards on my Facebook page (please 'like' my page!).  I haven't put together my Paper Pumpkin for this month, I will, don't worry I just want to get the treats for the bags before I assemble it :)  I loved the sweet little fall set that came in the kit.  The images and greetings are too cute I had to use them!  I quickly whipped up a set of 3x3 cards.  These images are the perfect size for a batch of tags or cards.  Also please note, it's apparently impossible for me to make cards that don't include glitter....just saying :)  I stamped a couple of the images on some post it notes first and cut them out so that I could mask some of the images to make them look stacked up like these acorns.

I used minimal supplies for the cards.  The theme was quick, cute and easy!  I used Memento Black for the greetings and markers to color the acorns on the first card and leaves on this card.  I love the look of those leaves and everyone of them is different, the look is so easy to get, just color directly on your stamps with your Stampin' Write Markers.  Start with the lightest color first so you don't mess up your tips and make sure to clean the stamp between each one.

These Halloween ones are my favorite though!  I don't typically craft much for Halloween, I give a few treats here and there but I haven't actually bought a Halloween stamp in a couple years.  Thank goodness for Paper Pumpkin!!!  I just love this stacked pumpkin card!!!  The little face was just drawn with a Project Life by Stampin' Up! Journaling Pen.  I just used cardstock stapled on the top of the tag instead of ribbon.  So cute!!!

Finally the last card.  Isn't that the cutest!!!  Again I did some masking and instead of ribbon I opted for some Black Glimmer Paper and Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.  If you're not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber there is no better time to sign up.  In October Stampin' Up! is donating $1 for every active subscriber and $2 for new subscribers to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  This is a great way to do some good and get a really cute box of crafting supplies!  You can sign up for Paper Pumpkin here, make sure to mention me as your demonstrator!  The kits are amazing, you won't be disappointed!!!  I will have the finished kit to share with you soon, but I had to share these super cute note cards.  Who wouldn't love getting one of these!!!!?!

Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!

Thanks Pal

It has been a while since I posted anything Disney, were you getting worried?  LOL!  Truth is, between my Christmas Card prep and kids there hasn't been a whole lot of stamping time :(  I'm stamping quick projects (like todays!) here and there but I really need a day to just craft and stamp!  Luckily my prep is going well and I should be able to set aside some time to stamp soon :)  Back to the project today.  I wanted a Mickey themed card but something I could do quickly.  I did some searches on Pintrest and came across a party invitation that was similar to this and loved the pocket idea.

Everything is made with the circle framelits.  For the red I just cut about half the circle and used a thin line of tombow to only glue the sides and bottom.  The top is open so that you can slide the card in and out of the pocket.  I printed the greeting quickly on my computer I wanted the Disney font :)  I love love this card, I love it even more that it was quick and easy!  These would be fun to have a stack of ready to go.  Hmmmmmm.......maybe I'll get on that :)

Happy Scenes Shaker

It's always fun to get cards in the mail. I try to send out lots of mine but I also love getting them!  This one I received in the mail from my friend Kim.  I loved this card.  She used the Happy Scenes Set and Hearth and Home Thinlits from the Holiday Catalog.  I love that she made it a shaker card behind the window and added sequins and punched hearts to shake around!  I'm not gonna lie, I spent a few minutes just shaking the card :)  Thanks again Kim for the sweet card!!

Some Swaps

I told you yesterday that I only had a couple swaps to share from the meeting a few weeks ago because I would be using the others for class inspirations, though I could easily have used these too, so cute!!!!  The first is Nikki's super cute pumpkin, she made it from punches and added some rhinestones!  LOVE!

Nobody likes to make them but sometimes you need a sympathy card, I love this card Hope made.  So sweet, I love every element she added to this card!
Also at the meeting Michelle had the Oh What Fun Tag kit.  I was pretty sure I didn't need that kit........I was wrong.....I loved all the tags!  I had such a hard time choosing which two to make....well the glitter snowflake one wasn't sooooo hard :)  We didn't have the coordinating stamp set so we used other Christmas stamps, so adorable.  I think I'll need that kit now :)

Grateful Acorn

A couple weeks ago I was able to attend my downline Michelle's meeting with her downline.  She has a small but really amazing group I love spending time with them.  We did a card swap and this is the card I made (the morning of).  It's super simple but the pop of gold from the glimmer paper and the thread make it a really cute card!  I used some DSP from the Farmers Market pack.  Once I had my DSP picked out I used that to pick my colors.  Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake were easy choices!
I'm loving this acorn bundle so much.  The stamp set is sooooo cute and even cuter when you add the coordinating punch.  The acorn is simple with a Crumb Cake bottom and a Rich Razzleberry top.  Easy peasy.  The card needed something else so I added the gold accents.  When in doubt add glitter!  I have a couple of the swaps to share with you tomorrow.  I'm not sharing them all, the ones I'm not sharing it's because I'll be doing them in classes soon :)

Candy Corn Treat Bags

I love giving little gifts to my guests who take time to attend my classes.  These were the super cute treat bags everyone received at my class a couple weeks ago.  They're too cute!!!  Of course this isn't my idea, I saw this idea demoed at convention on one of their live streams to demonstrators.  I loved the idea and I added a few packages of these Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bags.  They're so easy to make too!  I used some post it notes to help mask off the areas so I got nice straight lines, so once the areas that I didn't want ink on were covered I just took the whole ink pad and pulled it across the bag. Have a few tissues or paper towels handy to wipe off any ink on the surface.  Not all the ink will be absorbed into the bags and you don't want to get ink all over just by picking them up.  So I used the tissues and 'buffed' the area.  The bags are already white so to do candy corn you only need 2 ink colors, I used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.
I added a clothespin to the top of the bags and that didn't look complete enough so I used some circle punches and made a quick, scary, spider!  Logan said it looked strange because it only had 4 legs....the other 4 are under him and he was a last minute addition...like the night before the class I was making them :)  But it's so super cute I'm glad I took the time to make them!

Birthday Card Class-Two

My favorite card from the class is this pretty Wisteria Wonder card.....it's also the only one with glitter.....I'm sure that's just an odd coincidence ;)  I love the Black and the Wisteria Wonder together.  So pretty!!!  Lots of my customers have bought this Watercolor Wings set so I like to provide alternate ideas for the set so they can get to stamping!  Overall this card is really simple but so so so pretty!!  And just like yesterday's Pacific Point card you could substitute the Wisteria Wonder (if you didn't particularly like that color) for any other color.  Black looks great with almost anything!
In Megan's unscientific poll at my class this cute dinosaur card came in as second favorite.  I like to include at least one masculine card in my stamp a stack and this one I think is perfect for any guy.  You could also leave the 'Age Awareness Day' off and it would make a great kids card!  Perfect all around, and if you don't have the No Bones About It set, you really need it :)  My next class is my Christmas Card Stamp a Stack in October, spaces are filling fast but I still have a couple spots left sign up here today!!!

Birthday Card Class

Every September my class is a birthday card stamp a stack.  I think that people use a lot of birthday cards plus my birthday is in September so it makes perfect sense to me.  My class was a couple weeks ago but me posting these cards was delayed because of my 1900th post week.  Thanks for all the comments and emails by the way, I do read each and every one!  At my stamp a stack my guests get to make 12 cards 3 each of 4 designs, I have two to share today and two to share tomorrow.  Megan attended the class with me and she asked me to help her ask everyone there what their favorite cards were.  This penguin ranked number 1.  He's just so cute though!!!!  The penguin is stamped and cut out with the Snow Place set and coordinating framelits.  For the greeting I got a little creative.  The greeting in the Snow Place set says 'Snow way! It's Christmas Already!"  I simply cut, yes you can cut your photopolymer stamps to suit your needs it doesn't hurt them I promise, I cut away the 'It's Christmas Already!' and paired it the the Endless Birthday Wishes set for a fun cute greeting.

I love the second card and you can substitute the Pacific Point with any color.  I used Sahara Sand as my neutral color and Sahara Sand goes with ANYTHING!  This card would look great with any color, if you don't happen to like the blue.  I love the Pacific Point though, it's nice and bold and really 'pops' off the Sahara Sand.  Check back tomorrow for the other two cards!

Thanks for looking see you tomorrow!

Celebrating 1900-Favorite Punch Art

I'm not gonna sugar coat this.  Picking a favorite punch art project was HARD.  There's so many to choose from!!!!  The thing with punch art, is sometimes it takes a long time and you become emotionally attached to your little creations.  Which is probably why I have a hard time giving away my punch art stuff.  So how on earth could I make this choice.  There's so many projects I love!  Like this little bear family birthday card for Dan in 2011.  Or what about when I won in Stampin' Up!'s card challenge in their monthly demonstrator magazine with this polka dot flower card.

But then there's the time I presented punch art at a Stampin' Up! event in 2011.  It was my first time presenting ever on a Stampin' Up! stage....well my only time presenting ever on a Stampin' Up! stage. I shared 8 different punch art animals, I did two posts on them you can check them out HERE and HERE.

Then there's the card that I get the most emails and questions about of all time, this giraffe card from last year.  And someday maybe I will have it all together and make stacks of them and sell them on etsy.

Then there's a couple of my more recent punch art works that are still some of my favorites.  Like my twirling ballerina bunny.  Or the little beaver with a bouquet of flowers.  I think it's his eyes that make him just so darn cute!

But, then there's this guy.  This alligator from Sale a Bration in 2014.  HE is my favorite.  When I thought about all the punch art stuff I've done, before I even went back through all my posts, he was first to stick out in my mind.  He's my favorite :)  You can read all about the little alligator here in it's original post.  Did I mention your favorite?  If not please leave a comment and let me know what your favorite is.  I have had sooooo much fun looking back at all these projects!  I'm looking forward to celebrating that 2000th post!  I'll be back Monday with the cards from my class last weekend, and all new stuff next week.

Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!

Celebrating 1900-Favorite Disney Project

We're getting down to the last two days of my look back at my all time favorite projects, we're down to my 2 favorite categories, Disney projects today and punch art tomorrow.  Now most of my Disney projects overlap into the punch world because that's just how I create them but Disney really is it's own category.  I narrowed down my Disney choice to two favorites.  This Inside Out inspired project that I made this year, you can read about it here in it's original post....and.....
...this project that I made back in 2013.  You can read about this project here.  Truth be told IF you made me choose one it would be this Mickey and Minnie one.  Tomorrow we wrap up the week with my favorite punch art project.....what will it be...will your favorite be my favorite?????  Check tomorrow!!

Celebrating 1900-Favorite Project With Glitter

If you follow my blog at all you know that I love adding glitter to nearly everything, it's always better with some sparkle.  Looking back at some of my projects with glitter I kept returning to this one.  I just LOVE it to pieces.  There's so much sparkle on it.  now when added glitter you have many options, there's the obvious glitter, we sell 3 different sparkling varieties (Dazzling Diamonds, Gold and Silver), then there's glimmer paper in even more options including black now which I ADORE!!!!  There's also Dazzling Details, a type of glitter glue.  Then there's Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, which is how I added the glitter to this card.  For all the details on this card check out the original post from back in June of this year.

Celebrating 1900-Favorite Box

Continuing with my all time favorite projects, today I'm sharing my all time favorite box.  I really love making boxes, it is one of my favorite things to make.  This takes us to 2014, and this post.  This box isn't even my original creation, I first saw it on Sam from Pootles blog.  I've always loved this box though.  From the outside it doesn't look that amazing, but it holds 3x3 cards and the Bakers Twine is set up to be a pulley system so that the box closes with just a quick pull of the twine.  Amazing!
I have a link to Sam's tutorial on my original post.  Make sure to check it out.  I'm off to make more of these boxes now that I'm reminded how amazing they are!!!

Post Number 1900!

I can't believe I'm sharing my 1900th post with you today!  That's a lot of blogging and a lot of projects!!!  Whoa!!!  I wanted to do something to celebrate 1900 posts so after chatting a little with my friend Carmelita, HI!  I decided to share some of my all time favorites!  Over the next 5 days, I'll be looking back at some of my favorites, ever!  I wanted to categorize them in some kind of organized fashion so I looked at what I create the most of, or what I enjoy creating the most and I have 5 different categories: projects with chocolate, boxes, projects with glitter, Disney projects, and punch art.  Today I'm sharing my all time favorite chocolate project.

For this project we have to go all the way back to February of 2009, but this little chocolate box has always been a favorite of mine.  I still have one in my closet, minus the chocolate.  They're easy to make and if you go back to my original post in 2009 HERE I have a tutorial on how to make the box and the penguin.

This box was made to fit 2 Ghirardelli squares.  You don't have to wrap them in DSP but they are cuter that way.  Also Ghirardelli is still my favorite chocolate, only the dark chocolate though.  FYI See's Dark Chocolate Chip Truffles are a close second, like really close, like too close to pick one. I have two favorite chocolates, there I said it :)  Make sure you check out my original post for the details on this card.  Tomorrow I'll share my favorite box.

Awesome Blossom

OMG! I think Stampin' Up! needs to name a stamp set Awesome Blossom!  Isn't that the cutest name!!!?!?  Isn't this card the cutest?!?!  I love it.  I was inspired by this card that I found on Pintrest.  I loved that it was partially cut, I'll show you how to do that in a minute.  I used Melon Mambo and Rose Red for my flower.  Then I used Old Olive and Always Artichoke for the leaves. I have lots of techniques on this card, there's partial die cutting and masking, lots going on!  Of course no card is complete without a little Glimmer Paper---seriously I may need a 12 step program for the glimmer paper usage :)
I also added some sequins scattered 'randomly' on my card.  I say 'randomly' but you and I know there was strategic placement going on with those.  I used the new Fine Tip Glue Pen in the Holiday Catalog to hold them down.  I really like using the glue for those small embellishments!  I also added some more Gold Glimmer Paper to the center of the flower and then topped that with a Rhinestone that I colored with a black sharpie marker.
So how did I just cut part of that flower???  I started by stamping my flower from the Flower Patch set, then I used a ruler and drew a light pencil line where I wanted the cardstock cut, this also helped line up the top cutting plate so it was nice and straight.  I got out the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits and line up my framelit.  Even though I'm using the magnetic platform I used some washi tape to hold it in place.  To get it to partially die cut you only put the top plate where you want it to cut. In the picture I have it hanging off the edge quite a bit, you don't have to do that.  But the framelit will only cut where the 2 plates are, once the top plate ended it no longer cut that framelit.  You can see it only cut that portion.
Before I finished trimming my cardstock I wanted to stamp my leaves, while I had the big shot and framelit out I cut another whole flower from a post it note.  This masked off my flower so that I could stamp the leaves and they would appear to be behind the flower.  After the leaves were stamped.  I put the white piece in my paper cutter and lined up that pencil line and cut up to the flower, lifted up the blade and cut the other side of the flower.  Then you get that nice straight edge with the flower partially cut around it.  So cute!!!!

Fall Sheltering Tree

Quick post today, I have a class this weekend and I'm just finishing up the final touches so that I can set up tomorrow!  But I wanted to share this fun card with you.  I was inspired by this card and loved it so I decided to make my own version.  Fall is my favorite season, so I love all the leaves and their changing colors.  I inked up my leaf stamp in 3 colors, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler.  I inked the whole thing in the Curry, then rocked and rolled it in the other two colors.  I love the depth it gives.  I love also that the tree is lined up in the middle and only the leaves are stamped on the middle portion.  A great use of the spotlighting technique.  I have a really fun card to share tomorrow, make sure you stop by!

Blackberry Bliss Beehive Box

Last week I shared with you the hexagonal box that I made following Sam's tutorial, today I have another box that I made with her wonderful tutorials.  This tutorial you can find here on Sam's website.  I'll be honest with you, I was fascinated with this box when I first saw it.  It's so unique.  It's actually not hard at all, though you can tell whoever you give it to that it took hours ;)  Though it's not hard, I'm not sure I would sit down and make a stack of them, they're a little time consuming but not challenging, I hope that makes sense :)

I decided to used Blackberry Bliss cardstock for my box.  I decorated it simply with a Black Glimmer Paper belly band and tag.  I also pulled out my new Glitter Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog to tie it closed.  I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the glitter ribbon, in my head I expected it to be stiff and hard to work with, it's quite the opposite, it's soft and easy to tie bows and knots.  It's so very pretty!!!  Make sure you check out Sam's blog for the tutorial on how to make this box.

Seas The Day

I've mentioned before that I love silly puns, I love them even more when there's animals involved in the puns :)  Then I saw this card on Pintrest and I thought I have a crab stamp!  I can do that!  I don't know who it's for but I can do that!!!!  I thought about where I'd have the crab sitting, I went with a beach scene and made 'waves' with different colors of cardstock.  I started with Tempting Turquoise then it goes to Pool Party and the final color is Soft Sky.  They're all sponged in their coordinating color.  For the actual beach I used Crumb Cake and crumpled it up until the fiber broke down, then I carefully pulled the cardstock apart.  The inside of the cardstock is a great texture, soft and kind of suede like (obviously not the way sand feels) but I thought it looked good :)  It's really textured from all the crumpling and gives the unevenness of a sandy beach.  The greeting was stamped with the Layered Letters Alphabet.  I started with the 'Seas' on the left side and knew space wouldn't be on my side so I stamped the 'day' and then used my Project Life pen to write 'the'.  Worked out fine and is really cute!

As for the crab, I stamped and colored him with a Real Red Marker, I had tried watercoloring him but I wasn't getting the rich red color that I wanted for him, so I finally scrapped the watercolor idea and used a marker.  I fussy cut him, and added some Crystal Effects to his eyeballs for some extra dimension.  He's attached to the beach and all is cute and adorable!  Such a fun card!!!!

Bold Butterflies

I think we all have our favorite colors or color groups, I know for me I'm drawn to the Brights the most and I use the Regals the least.  Then I make a card like this and I'm reminded how much I love the Brights.  This card is super simple, especially with the beautiful Watercolor Wings set.  It's so fun and easy to get gorgeous butterflies!  After I made this card I knew it had to have a coordinating envelope!  So I stamped the base of the butterfly on a Daffodil Delight envelope, then I clear embossed the details on the butterfly.  So pretty!!!!

For the card I used five colors from the Brights group:  Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.  The butterflies are all stamped the same, the base of the butterfly is inked up and stamped off on some scratch paper first, so that I get a lighter shade on my card.  Then I stamp the details directly over that in the full strength of the ink for a bold, bright look!  I started with the Bermuda Bay Butterfly then added the smaller ones around it.  The final touch was the greeting, I cut it out using Black Glimmer paper and the Greetings Thinlits from the Annual Catalog.  I love this card sooooo much it's so pretty!

Peaceful Deer Box

It's been a while since I've made some fun boxes, I saw a couple from Sam's website that I loved, I have many more of hers pinned on Pintrest to make later too :)  I wanted to make something fun and unique.  I love this box, Sam has a wonderful video tutorial on her blog.  Check it out if you wan to make it too.  The box is made from Mint Macaron Paper and tied up with some Mint Macaron Lace Ribbon.  I do love this lace ribbon!!!!  The finished box sat on my desk for a couple weeks before I knew how I would decorate it.

I wanted to keep it simple.  I didn't wand my decorations to overpower the box, it's such a cute box! I had some of the Home For Christmas DSP sitting on my desk and I am just in love with the little deers in it.  So I fussy cut a deer from the DSP.  I've mentioned before that I don't mind the fussy cutting, I know there's some people that hate it!  I really actually like it :)  Don't get me wrong though I wouldn't trade in my framelits or punches for anything but I sometimes I like to fussy cut :)  So after he was cut out I did a quick greeting with the Holly Jolly Greetings, punched it out and stuck everything to the box.  Very simple but soooo cute!!!!  Again make sure to check out Sam's blog to make this box yourself!

Thank for looking see you soon!!!

Thankful Acorn

Acorny Thank You stamp set has been one of my favorite fall/Thanksgiving sets ever!  I've heard from a few people that they're not a fan of this set.  I think it's one of those sets where you either love it or hate.  I LOVE it...obviously!  I love that it has a coordinating punch, but I just love all the fun, whimsical acorn images and I love that you can build any kind of acorn you want.  For this card I gold embossed the bottom of the acorn and stamped the top in Early Espresso.

I also paired the acorn with some of the Winter Wonderland Vellum.  This is normally themed as a Christmas Vellum but I think this pine cone/pine tree pattern goes well with the acorn, they're both woodsy right?  I love this card.  I love all the gold!  To make the gold on the vellum 'pop' more I mounted the vellum on some Very Vanilla Cardstock.  Also did you know that if you own the Bitty Banners framelits the curvy one cuts out the Thankful greeting from the stamp set perfectly!  Yay!!!!!
