Simple Thanks

Well we're down to the final hours of the 2009-2010 Idea book and Catalog. Tomorrow is the release date for the new 2010-2011 catalog!!! If I haven't said it before, it's simply beautiful!!! The more I look at it the more I LOVE it!!
Yesterday we started cutting for stamp camp! The projects are amazing, I love each and every one of them!! We're using a bunch of new colors and stamp sets and I'm really excited about them!!! As far as me and my nausea, well it's still here and is pretty bad in the mornings. But I've learned to function through it and slowly but surely it is getting better. I do have to snack all day long. If I go to long between meals I get sick, so I always carry food with me. I've been really loving peaches lately! I try to snack healthy since I'm doing it so much throughout the day, but I have been known to sneak in some ice cream now and then :)

For today's card, I kept it super duper simple. Not even a brad or ribbon on this card and it's still beautiful!!

I went with our new colors for this card. I used Crumb Cake (the ink formally known as Kraft), Marina Mist and Early Espresso. Aren't they just so pretty together, though I think everything looks great with Crumb Cake! For the flower, I inked it with my Marina Mist pad then stamped it off on scrap paper, then onto my vanilla CS. It gives it a lighter, softer look. I did pull out my Color Spritzer Tool for this one. I just love the texture and dimension it adds!
So do you just love my super simple, super pretty card?!! I'm so excited for the new catalog release tomorrow. If you're planning on placing online orders tomorrow, be aware that ordering from the new catalog will not begin until noon, mountain time.
I have a few more cards to show you in the next few days so keep checking back. I think I'm finally starting to get my stamping groove back. At least for a day or two until I think about something else that needs to be done around this crazy house of mine :)
Stamp Set: Because I Care
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla
Ink: Marina Mist, Early Espresso (pad and marker)
Accessories: Color Spritzer Tool, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

All a Flutter

July is almost here and that means it's time for a new catalog!!!!! YEAH!!!! The new one is so great!! If you would like to get yours free, come to our stamp camp on July 10, the catalog is included in the admission of the camp. For more details on stamp camp see this post.

My boxes of catalogs came yesterday!! My UPS man, in his normal UPS style, drops the catalogs and runs. The box unfortunatly was too heavy for me lift so I figured well it will be fine on the porch until Dan gets home. Well that was a good thought, except for the storm coming. I think one of the weather guys here said it was the most substantial rain we've had since September! Great, and my catalogs are outside. Dan's working late tonight---AHHHH, what do I do??? So Logan and I ran out side and pushed the box to the more covered part of the porch, then I figured well we're this close to the door we might as well just roll them in. So that's what Logan and I did yesterday, it must have been the funniest sight to see! First pushing the catalogs to the door then rolling the box inside. But I had to save the precious cargo inside from the rain!!

I love today's card!! I don't think I've used this stamp set yet and I've had it for months! This is one of the under $10 stamp sets in the mini catalog, All a Flutter. It's perfect too!! Isn't this card beautiful!!??!

I stamped and watercolored the butterflies using So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and More Mustard. It did take a while to cut them out but totally worth it!

The DSP is the new DSP in the mini, Presto Patterns. In the catalog it looks like it's black and white DSP in the catalog, but the black part shows where the ink will resist. It's amazing paper. For this card I sponged Daffodil Delight on then More Mustard over to highlight some more of the paper. Where the resist part is on the DSP the ink won't stick and so you get this beautiful pattern coming through. It's amazing DSP and it gives you the option of customizing it to ANY color! Ok enough from me. It just amazes me everytime I use it!
Stamp Sets: All a Flutter, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: More Mustard, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Staz On, Basic Black, So Saffron, More Mustard, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, Big Shot, Modern Label Punch, Small Oval Punch, Black Grosgrain ribbon, Blender Pens, Dimensionals

Projects From the Swap!!

All of the projects from the over night swap were so great! I was so pleased with them. Everyone did a great job. Here's what we spent all night (literally) doing! Some of the pictures aren't great. I took them in the kitchen when I got home yesterday and sleep deprived AND my camera battery was dying so I was in a hurry. So sorry for some of the bad pictures :)

Michelle had us make this adorable baby book. It did take a while to cut all the letters but was worth it in the end. Here's the rest of the book.

All the pages had spots for photos and special memories.

Great job Michelle, I'll be putting this to use in just a few months!

I love this board Pam had us make. It's so pretty and I just need to find some spare space on my wall :)

This project was amazing! This one was done by Michelle (we have 2 Michelle's). The little containers are for seeds and there's a pencil and markers to mark what you've planted. But I think I'm going to try to find more space on my wall and use the little containers for eyelets and brads and stuff like that. I'm really excited to use this!

This one was Karen's. At first you think, beautiful box but then inside.....

...are little paper chocolates! Aren't they adorable!!! I love this project, especially the truffle!

This one is Kim's, it's a card holder, here's the cards...
...I love that DSP and it's in the mini right now!!! Aren't these cards beautiful!! And here's the outside of the box...
....LOVE IT!!!

Vanessa's project wowed all of us. We made a mini scrapbook page then stuck it between two pieces of glass and made little coasters or whatever you want to do with them. She gave us supplies to do 2 so this is one and I'm saving the other supplies to make one for Dan with the new baby to take to work. This picture is some of our group at convention last year!

For Angela's project we made these awesome bracelets. I love mine!!! I can't wait to wear it. Great idea Angela!!!

We made these awesome boxes for Amber's project. They're so cute and I'm really bummed I didn't get a better picture of it. The box is a great size box for storing your clear blocks for your stamps or ribbon or anything. The bird is one of our decor elements and it's so pretty!

For Corrina's project we made these jars with bath salts in them. Logan wants me to put it in his bathroom but I'm not sure that will happen I think it will live in my bathroom! The DSP is some of the new DSP that will be in the new catalog! This was such a fun project and great shower gift!!

Last but certainly not least was Kay's project. We made kleenex box covers and a candle holder. They're so pretty and they were really easy to make who would have thought! You can also catch a glimpse of my silly cat trying to see what I'm doing in the right corner. I think she smelled the bath salts and wanted a better look at them.
So that was how I spent most of my weekend. That and sleeping most of the day on Saturday. Sunday we went to see Toy Story 3 as a family. Really cute movie, you should defiantly see it, if you haven't already!
I'll be back later this week with some more projects!!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!

A Night of No Sleep....Part 2

Last night was our over the top swap-over night swap and while I should be sleeping I wanted to get some work done. So I came home. Unloaded my car (what I could anyway some of it's too heavy for me to lift, it'll have to wait for Dan). Started unpacking, fixed what fell off or didn't survive my crazy driving from the hotel. In all honesty I didn't pack my projects well, and somehow my crop a dial ended up on top of everything squishing it :( But not to worry everything survived! We went to bed last night (or this morning) at 4:30 AM. We were up by about 7:30 AM. By the time we picked everything up, had breakfast and loaded cars it was about 10AM when we left. The projects were all FANTASTIC!! Everyone did a great job. I'll show those to you in my next post ;) We had a great time! The hotel was great and the projects were great!! I was surprised that I wasn't more tired. I'm starting to feel the lack of sleep now though as I type this. Here's a few highlights of last night's swap!!

Here we are at the beginning of the night. Wide eyed and ready to go!

Here's Corrina and Michelle around 3:30 AM, the room has cleared out quite a bit and we're all very tired!

We had so much trash! There were scraps everywhere!!! From cardstock to the backs of dimesionals and sticky strip, you name it we had it on the floor!!!
This is just a sample of what the floor looked like--and Amber's feet :) This was probably one of the cleaner spots too :)

So around 3 in the morning or so we decided that we needed to leave the housekeeping staff a nice tip and perhaps a card. Here's what we came up with at 3 AM.
It's very pretty and simple. This morning when we left we left her tip with the card and a pile of chocolate, hopefully that will forgive our horrible mess! We had a suite and literally stamped in EVERY inch of that suite. From the living room to the bedroom, kitchen to bathroom--YEP we had a project in the bathroom!! It was super fun and it all worked out great-except for the lack of sleep part :) I'll share the projects soon, hopefully tomorrow but if not then for sure Monday so check back soon!!
I'm off to nap now!!! Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

A Night of No Sleep...

...That night would be tonight. Tonight is our Over Night-Over the Top Shoebox Swap! We've done this swap for a couple of years now and it's always so much fun, even if in the end we only have 3 hours of sleep! We literally stay up all night long stamping!! The projects are supposed to be Over the Top, something you could focus on at a class or sell at a craft fair. Everyone brings enough supplies for everyone to make that project. So I should be coming home tomorrow with 10 awesome projects!! This year we rented a bunch of rooms at a hotel and hopefully the hotel is smart enough to confine us to our own corner of the hotel or we might have some angry hotel guests wondering why there's 11 women laughing and chatting at 2AM! I don't know how late I'll be able to stay up, I'm hoping that baby and body will cooperate for one night and let me stay up late :) I've packed LOTS of snacks to keep my tummy happy while I stamp so I think I'll be ok to get through the night, tomorrow is another story! I am taking my camera and while I'm always so bad at snapping pictures of our group when we get together I'm really going to try to get some tonight!

So my great intention of posting projects over the last few days didn't work out so well. I haven't stamped anything in the last few day. I spent Tuesday going through baby clothes and the last couple of days working on Stamp Camp stuff. Yesterday I made a trip to a fabric store and found some really cute fabric to make a diaper bag out of. I'll be using the big shot to make it!!! I can't wait to show you!! I will be getting lots of help from my Mom on this project though, since she is much better at sewing than I am. It might be a while before I have the finished diaper bag to show you since she has bigger sewing projects ahead of my little diaper bag. I do have a project for you today though. This is the project that I'm taking tonight. I got this chipboard a couple months ago right before the last mini catalog sales period was over.

I really like this project, except for the fact that I attached my letters crooked! In my defense though when I made this sample I was doing so on the couch while semi-laying down. I've made a note in my box for everyone else to make sure their letters are on straight and not make it like me! But crooked letters aside isn't it just super cute!!! I love it!!!!

Well I'm off to take a morning nap and prepare for tonight. I think it's going to take me longer to pack my food then it's going to take to pack my clothes for the night. How silly is that!

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery DSP
Accessories: Serif Alphabet Die, Big Shot, Bitty Buttons, Linen Thread, Boho Blossom Punch, Filigree Brads, Chocolate Chip 1/4 and striped grosgrain Ribbon, Bird Chipboard, tombow multi glue, glue dots.

Father's Day Fun

I really like this Father's Day card. It's fun and has bright colors, it just makes you smile. Plus I got to try a new tool on it. It's not really new, I got it in February or March, when I was too sick to use it. Then for the past few weeks it's just been sitting there and so I finally decided I would try it on this card and I LOVE IT!! Oh my goodness why I have never used this tool before?! Are you interested now to know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the Color Spritzer Tool. It's soooo cool!!

I did use a bunch of retired stuff on this card. The Sweet Pea DSP and the Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brads but I still love it! It's simple cute and fun! And look how cool the color spritzer tool is!

It does take a little practice to use. This was not my first time using it. I have plenty of scrap paper that doesn't look as cool as this card. But once you get used to it and get the hang of it it's really the coolest thing EVER! I can't wait to use it more! You'll be seeing lots more of it soon I'm sure.
Yesterday, I got a lot accomplished. I'm almost done getting ready for our over night swap this Friday and I went through 2 boxes of baby clothes. I can't go through any more boxes of baby clothes though, the other 4 boxes are in the garage in Rubbermaid bins and they're too big for me to lift, so I need Dan to bring them into the house for me. But I'm not sure where we'll put them. We keep putting baby stuff in the baby's room but we're not moving anything out of the baby's room yet so it's getting very crowded. We have so much we're getting rid of, we need another room to store all the stuff we're getting rid of. I started to go through the baby's closet yesterday and I forgot that my wedding dress is stored there. Where am I going to keep that now?! Anyway LOTS of reorganizing going on here. I'm going to try to stamp today but now that I'm motivated to get that room cleaned up I'm really focusing on that. Though I can't move most of the stuff by myself so there's really not much I can do :( I've been on a roll lately of posting somewhat regularly and I hate to stop that so maybe I will take the time and stamp :)
Stamp Set: All Holidays

Ink: Markers: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brads, Chocolate Chip ribbon, Dimensionals, Color Spritzer Tool

Charming Father's Day!

Yesterday was Father's Day and I decided that I would go to the zoo with Dan and Logan. So we left early, and got there before the zoo was packed and before it got too hot. I packed a backpack full of snacks and water for Dan to carry for me. I did pretty well. We did have to stop a few times for snacks and breaks but for the most part I did ok. We got through the zoo and I didn't even get sick. Huge improvement for me. I did take a looonng nap when we got home, but I normally nap every Sunday so that didn't change. But Dan had a good Father's Day, he spent the time I was napping trying to go through what will be the baby's room. There's so much stuff in there that needs to find a new home. We need to start moving things out so that I can start going through baby stuff.

Here's another Father's Day card. I have one more to show you tomorrow then we can move onto other projects--assuming I get new one's made :) This week I'll be getting ready for our over the top over night swap. More on that later though!

This card is super simple and was very easy to do.

That little medallion is from the Charming set from a couple mini catalogs ago. It's still been available for purchase and I'm so glad it will be in the next catalog. I just love it!! That's one of the new colors too, Cajun Craze and a big welcome back to Baja Breeze!!!
I hope you had a great Father's Day and I hope you have a great week. Summer officially starts today, though it feels like it's been summer for weeks here.

Father's Day Tree

Every time Father's Day comes around I always say to myself that I need to get more masculine stamps but then I never buy them. I always reach for my Lovely as a Tree set when I need a masculine card. It works perfect and I'm always happy with the result. I just hope the never retire it. I don't know what I'd do :)

I made this card for Dan for Father's Day tomorrow. I don't think we have anything planned, Dan said he'd like to take Logan to the zoo. I'd like to go but I don't think my body can handle that much walking...yet. Walking, after 4 months of having to be stuck in bed not able to do anything, has been my biggest challenge. I would love to walk around but the zoo is pretty big and I don't think my muscles (or tummy) can handle it just yet. A friend of mine told me that she read somewhere that a pregnant women's body works harder to make a baby than the body of someone climbing a mountain. I don't know if that's true but it sounds good, and could explain why I'm so tired all the time. So with Dan and Logan at the zoo I think I'll have the day to myself, hmmm is that how Father's Day is supposed to work? I hope Dan enjoys his Father's Day card.

To get the water colored look on the tree, I used SU's watercolor paper, sprayed it with a water bottle then stamped my image onto the wet paper. My paper might have been a little wetter than it should have been which is why the marker ran so much in certain spots. I thought about doing it again but the more I looked at it the more I like the artistic look to it. I also added a piece of Pear Pizazz on the left side of the card. To give it the dimension that it has I used my Old Olive ink pad and applied ink to the embossing folder before putting my paper in it. I really love the look it gives, randomly textured. Very nice! The layout of this card came from Heather Summer's Sunday Sketch. I really love it and glad it will at least be staying in the house.

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Lovely as a Tree
Cardstock: Old Olive, Pear Pizazz, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive pads. Markers: Old Olive, Pear Pizazz, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Linen Thread, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals, spray bottle
I have 2 more Father's Day cards to show you in the next couple of days so check back soon!

Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake

Doesn't that sound like a yummy dessert or possibly two yummy desserts :) But it's not, they're 2 of the new SU core colors. Crumb Cake used to be Kraft but now it's so much better because you can get it in ink and makers now! YAY! Over the past year I've grown to LOVE this color and I'm so pleased it wasn't on the retired list!

I have what just might be the most beautiful card I've seen made with the new hostess set Because I Care. I copied 99.9% of this card (the only thing I changed was the greeting, oh I did add an extra layer of Cherry Cobbler CS). I got the idea from Stampin' Connection. If you're a SU demo you have access to this AMAZING site that has thousands and thousands of brilliant ideas! I saw this card and I had to make it immediately! It's so beautiful. It's made by Tina, and I just love it. Please check out her blog, she really does do amazing work! This card is already on it's way to the lucky recipient, but I love it so much I may have to make another one to hang in my room.

Unfortunatly the photo doesn't do it the justice it deserves. This is how I made mine. I used blender pens and my ink pad to color the flower. I stamped it twice once on the card and once on scrap paper. I colored the one on scrap paper and cut it out and layered it onto the one on the card. I did a tutorial waaaayyyy back in 2008 about how to do the shadow block technique, you can check that out if you're interested in making this card too.
I didn't have any black brads so I made my own. How you ask? We'll I have a quick tutorial for you on how to make black brads below so make sure to keep scrolling down. They look awesome though and you'd never know they were silver brads underneath.

Here's the inside of the card. I think I'm going to start dressing up the insides of my cards too. Why spend so much time on the outside and never do the inside?

Here's the quick brad tutorial. First take a silver or gold brad, make sure you have tweezers for this or you'll fry you fingers to a crisp.

Clasp the brad in the tweezers.....

...and dip it into some versamark.

Then dip it into embossing powder. I'm doing mine in black but obviously if you have any other embossing powder, dip it in that. Turn a black brad silver if you want. You could also use our craft ink instead of versa mark to make any color brad you want, if you do that, make sure you use clear embossing powder.

Then heat it up, just like you would if you were embossing on paper. Then wait a few seconds until it's cooled and dip it once more into versa mark then the EP. Two layers should be enough. Probably one layer is enough but I like to be thorough. Custom brads in seconds-cool huh!!
Stamp Sets: Because I Care
Cardstock: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, White
Ink: Black Staz on, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Versa Mark
Accessories: Black Satin Ribbon, Black EP, Silver Brads, Heat Tool, dimesensionals, Blender Pens
Thanks for looking, today I'll be working on some Father's Day Cards, see you soon!!!!

A Little Old and A Little New!

I am having such a hard time getting back into the swing of things after almost a 4 month 'break'. I'm pretty much doing everything I was doing before I got so sick: making dinner, stamping, cleaning-well that's another issue in itself :) But it seems that somehow there are less hours in the day or maybe I'm just sleeping for more of them :) I have found myself laying on the couch during Logan's nap time instead of stamping or doing other productive stuff. I thought you were supposed to have more energy in your second trimester? I still think my body is trying to play catch-up. I think my body is just still so weak from not being able to eat for 4 months and what I did eat went to the baby and not to me. So I think that may be one reason I feel so tired all the time.

But resting alot has given me a chance to look through the new catalog more and more. And I know that there's a bunch of you out there who are like me and even on the tenth time going through the catalog you go "Oh my gosh, I didn't see that, I have to put that on my wishlist" There's just so much to look at.

I do have a project for you today, it has a little bit of old stuff and a little bit of new stuff.

The picture is very funny and kind of messed the colors up a little-it made them much brighter. One of the samples in the new catalog is a card similar to this. But I loved the idea of using up your scraps and then cutting out an image with the big shot. I started with a piece of white cardstock and then just glued scraps of DSP on the white, then ran it through the big shot. I think it's adorable. Then I decided that it still needed something in the background and so I ran a sheet of vellum cardstock through the big shot with the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
The stamp is one of the new stamp sets in the catalog, it's called Perfect Punches. It has images that work perfectly with our Scallop Circle, Wide Oval, Scallop Oval punches-just to name a few! It's super cute and must have for any punch lover! For this card I used my markers to color the image, punched it out with my Wide Oval punch and then layered it on a Scallop Circle. Super cute!!! Of course the 'old' in this card is the Sweet Pea DSP. I just love it!
Stamp Set: Perfect Punches
Cardstock: Rose Red, Vellum Cardstock, Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Markers-Chocolate Chip, Rose Red
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Wide Oval and Scallop Circle punches, Dimensionals, Paper Piercer

Blushing Thanks

This set is quickly becoming my favorite hostess set. I think I love this card even more then the one I posted Thursday. This one uses new In Colors too. Isn't that pink pretty? It's the new Blushing Bride In Color. I just love it. And the new embossing folder!! Oh my goodness this new catalog is sooooo great!! I finally got my catalog bound and laminated today. I always get it spiral bound and the front and back laminated at Office Max, it's only $5 and my catalog lasts the entire year without getting too beat up. So now that it's bound I can't wait to go through it again and keep marking things I want, no wait NEED!!!

For this one, I stamped the image twice and cut out the leaves and flower and used dimesionals to pop them up. I used my markers again for the flower, this time using Blushing Bride and Regal Rose and Pear Pizazz and Garden Green. I'm loving this stamp set, it's my new 'go to set' for flower images!!

Because I Care

What a week it's been. I'm going to spend Friday resting :) I'm exhausted! But with all that went on this week it's been a good week. I told you in my last post about how excited I was to get my new catalog, that poor UPS man is probably still worried about me and has probably asked not to sub on this route again (just kidding, I'm sure he runs into all sorts of interesting things doing his job). But in my new catalog happiness I forgot to tell you how the ultrasound went. Well I didn't 'forget', we just weren't telling anyone until we talked to Logan about it. He didn't know I was pregnant until today. Since he's only 3 we didn't know if he would fully understand and because I was so terribly sick we didn't want him to have resentful feelings of the baby for making me so sick, so we thought it would be better to wait to tell him. For weeks we went back and forth about the ultrasound-will we find out what it is or won't we. We were surprised with Logan but decided to find out with this one. I'm happy to tell you we're having a little GIRL! Which is great since this will be our last baby we'll have one of each. Dan and I only want two kids and even if we wanted more I don't think my body could handle it. I am feeling better but I'm still nauseous and I'm still on all the medicine I've been on for months. At almost 22 weeks I really thought it would be done by now but I guess not :( I'm hopefully it will still end soon and that I won't be on the meds my entire pregnancy. Logan took the news great and is excited, he only had one question "How will the baby get out?" I told him that I'll go to the hospital and a special doctor will get the baby out. That answer seemed to satisfy him, we'll see if he has more later :)

Anyway, I bet you came to my blog to see a project right? Well have a good one for you!!! I used some new products and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this card. I think it's going up on my wall where I display my most favorite cards. Are you ready to see it!?!

The picture really doesn't do it the justice it deserves. In person it's just so pretty. And I used 2 of the new In Colors. To be honest, I wasn't sure I would like the new purple, Concord Crush. I'm not a huge fan of purple, I certainly never reach for it when I make stuff but for this card I thought I would venture out of my comfort zone and try something new. And after using it, I just love it. OH MY GOODNESS, who would have thought I would like a purple this much! I used markers to color the image. I used Perfect Plum, Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz and Garden Green. For the rest of the card, I did a tone on tone background. I used Perfect Plum for the base of the card and another sheet of perfect plum on top of it. On that sheet, before I attached it, I sprayed our new smooch spritz all over it and tore it, then sponged the whole thing in shimmer paint. This card has serious sparkle! I tried something different with the ribbon too, don't you LOVE it!! It needed ribbon of some sort but I couldn't figure out where to put it, so I ruffled it up and attached it to the back of the Concord Crush CS.

Some rhinestones to finish it off. I just took the rhinestones out of the brad part and used tombow glue to glue them on. Now are you wondering about that new stamp set? Isn't it great?? It's one of the new hostess sets in the FANTASTIC NEW CATALOG!! I would love to do a workshop for you and your friends and you can get this set free, contact me and we'll set a date.

Leafy Thanks!

It Came!!!!! I almost didn't think it would get here before we left for the ultrasound but just as we were walking out the door, literally, UPS showed up with my catalog!!!! We ran back inside, threw aside (literally, I think it landed 10 feet away from where I was) the package for Dan from LL Bean (don't worry it was just a jacket, totally unbreakable), and I tore into the SU box like a lion on a hyena. While Logan and Dan watched on, scared as can be. Of course the catalog was on the bottom, so there I was digging through the new cardstock, ink pads and markers to get to the catalog on the bottom. Oh yeah I was screaming "It's Here, It's Here, Just in time!!!!" I think I even told the UPS guy that-well I think my exact words were "Thank God you showed up, and just in time!" It wasn't my normal UPS guy so I'm sure he was even more worried about my sanity than Dan and Logan were. So with the catalog NOW in my hands we all left. Dan driving of course and me oohing and ahhhing on every page all the way down the freeway. And I just have to say that I LOVE IT!!! It's a beautiful catalog, lots of great new sets, and tons of awesome new accessories and OH MY GOODNESS, the hostess sets are one of the best things in the catalog. They're AMAZING!! I'm bursting with excitement. And if you heard screams of joy from Albuquerque around 2:30pm yesterday, you'll now know why.

I actually do have a project to show you today, not just me blabbing about the catalog. This card is super simple and fast. I'm trying to use retiring sets that I haven't used in a while, just to give them one last inking before they leave my home. The idea for this card came from a card I saw on split coast stampers. This card is for Dan's Grandfather. He sent Dan a birthday gift for his birthday last weekend. Since this is yet another masculine card I wanted to keep it simple with clean lines, so I was so happy to find the card I CASED on split coast.

Yes, my greeting is stamped crooked. Uggh. I almost redid the entire card because of it, but I stamped the greeting last, after paper piercing and everything. And I just couldn't bear to start all over again. Thank goodness I'm not a perfectionist :) I asked Dan if he wanted me to re-do it since the greeting was crooked and Dan said no, so I guess it's ok. I guess.....hmmmm.
